FIFA 18 Black Friday

What is the FIFA 18 Black Friday Promotion?

FIFA Black Friday, which takes place in November / December on the day following Thanksgiving in the United States, is the day regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. In this day, the prices are lower making it the one with more sales in the year. As usual, Electronic Arts do not miss this chance to boost their sales and releases a variety of offers.

During FIFA 18 Black Friday promotion, Electronic Arts usually releases something new every hour for 24 hours. These offers include multiple promo packs and lightning rounds in the FUT store and flash squad building challenges.

Black Friday is a big deal for the FUT community since it is the first big promotion of the season and it takes place just before other important events like FUTMAS and TOTY release.

The Market

What happens to the cards’ prices during Black Friday?

The expected huge market crash waited by the community for the Black Friday, starts much earlier. As Black Friday approach, the trend is prices begin to gradually fall. After the Cyber Monday, prices will go up again but not to the levels they were a few weeks before. If you really want to maximise your coins, you should sell your teams after the Black Friday and buy them back during the TOTY.

Different to what many people think, the Black Friday isn’t known by having a huge Market Crash. The biggest devaluation occurs before it even starts. In the thirty days before the Black Friday start, the market drops around 20%. It reaches the critical minimum on this day or in the previous Sunday. From there, prices start rising again. It’s a slow and slight recovery but the truth is that this tendency only inverts itself when the TOTY is released.

This behaviour we’ve described is also followed by the IF cards, in a weaker rhythm of course. The best day to buy them is also the Thursday before Black Friday, when they’ve accumulated a devaluation of almost 20%, so that then they can slightly recover on the next days.

  1. Hello Rodrigo Lopes,
I have question: is there lightningrounds the hole weekend or only on friday?

  2. Hi Rodrigo, PS Store doing an offer for FIFA 18 and 8,000 Fifa Points. What would you advise for the best way to use these points around Black Friday / Cyber Monday?

      1. This is only an offer for when you first purchase the game, you can purchase a bundle that includes Fifa 18 Icon edition and 8,000 Fifa points.

  3. Hi Rodrigo, I have around 260K, who do I have to buy and when… And when do I have to sell them. I was thinking about players like jesus and bailly, but I don’t know about when to buy and sell them like I said.

  4. Hi rodrigo ?
Can I know please what is the best time to buy player exactly based of Egypt ?? time ?

  5. Hello,

I have 1.7 million coins, when is the best time to buy players? Monday (20.11.) Before Black Friday?
I do not have them on business, I just want to build my two teams as cheaply as possible.

  6. Hi Rodrigo, I have about 2m coin as I sold all my top rated players. Do you know when and what players do buy to maximize profit?

  7. Hi Rodrigo, I have around 600k coins and got an average premiership team with 83 ratings, I am wait for a chance to buy some 85+ ratings Players, do you think I should invest my coins in some TOTW IF card or shall I invest my coins in some regular card for some top players like Pogba, De Gea or De Bruyen? Is it a gd time to buy them before Black friday? I am afraid that the price for those top players will drop even further in Dec?

    1. Hi Dave. First of all, in a general way, prices are always dropping from the first to the last day. If you want to buy for a low price, you should try to see how the market is on Sunday night (Nov 19). We believe that prices will go up as soon as Black Friday is released.

  8. I have around 10k amount of coins and squad worth of 60k what you would advise me of?!

  9. I’m planning to buy players like Lewandowski or Boateng. Lewandowski has already dropped from 250k a few days ago to 220k right now. Will he go further down? So I wait till lightning rounds during Black Friday like 100k packs and try and snipe him potentially under 200k?

  10. So I have 5-10 high profile players now and got 140k. When is best to sell/rebuy before market crash? Before or after BF?
