Introduction to the FUT 15 Liga BBVA Guide
Building a team is the biggest challenge on FIFA 15 Ultimate Team. It doesn’t need to be the best team, because your budget may not allow it, but it is player’s stature that helps him obtain success.
When choosing which players to play with, you will have to look carefully at their attributes. Choosing a team based on ratings is one of the most common mistakes on FUT 15. It’s precisely this aspect that this guide focuses on. For each position, and focusing on the truly important attributes, we’ll show you who are the best athletes to choose.
It’s also important that you check to see if the player you choose fits the formations you like to play in. For example, a good full back will be useless if you only use a formation with three defenders. According to these formations, you must be cautious and look at the work rate. Try to relate them with the ones we advise in our Formations Guide.
Last but not least, it’s mandatory that you tune all of your team so that the individual and team chemistry will be as high possible. For this last step to be easier, the majority of the players start to define the type of team they’re building. Some choose to gather players of the same nationality, while others decide to form a team of players from the same league. The most popular leagues are the Brazilian league and the Barclays Premier League. There are also more experienced players that can form hybrid teams without damaging team chemistry a lot.
All of these steps are necessary to have; or it could mean that the team is not always well built as it could be. This article aims to help those that want to form a FIFA 15 Ultimate Team based on players from the Liga BBVA. Even the players that have a La Liga team, could take out some valuable conclusions from this guide that could help them make their team even better.
We received thousands of comments about similar guides that we have published in previous years. Most of them have asked us to help improve their teams and the players they had. It’s important that the readers understand that this guide is simply guidance. It’s a theme too vast and the player combinations are almost infinite. Besides, there are various factors that influence the choices, like one’s style of play, the formations used, the available budget, the preferences or even the time spent playing. There’s still one uncertain component: a good player for someone might not be for another. If there was a better team everyone would fight to get it. Part of the fun of FIFA 15 Ultimate Team is this: everyone has their personal club and players.
Another important point and that must stay very clear is that whoever is reading this guide, it’s about the criteria we chose and should be of everyone’s knowledge:
- In this guide we didn’t consider silver or bronze players. Most players don’t assume them to be a better option than gold players, so to simplify the guide’s analysis we didn’t include them. In the future we may come to publish guides exclusively talking about these categories.
- In this guide we didn’t consider In Forms (IF). They’re extremely expensive and in most cases are not considered good value for money. They should only be used by players with generous budgets, that already have the best team possible and that want small upgrades.
- In this guide we didn’t consider players that have been transferred to other clubs or that have been reviewed (UP). Only players that started their season in the Liga BBVA and with their original attributes were considered.
- In this guide we didn’t consider changes made on a players performance such happens when applying training or chemistry styles cards.
- To make the comprehension of this guide easier we divided the players in nine distinct groups in order of their original position: Goalkeeper (GK), central backs (CB), right backs (RB and RWB), left backs (LB and LWB), central defensive midfielders (CDM) central midfielders (CM and CAM), right midfielders (RM, RW and RF), left midfielders (LM, LW and LF) and forwards (CF and ST).
- In the chapter where FIFA 15 Ultimate Team Liga BBVA teams are suggested, the prices considered are the ones of the date of the guide’s publication: November 2014. It’s natural that the prices have suffered some peaks and troughs throughout the season, so they should only be considered as guiding prices.
Liga BBVA
Arguably no league has as good players as the main football competition in Spain. The qualification for the champion is made through the points system. Whichever team gathers the most points wins the league. The first four classified gain access to the champions league in the following year, while the fifth and sixth qualify for the Europa League and the last three trade places with the first two promoted from the Segunda División and with the play-off winner. Every season starts in August and finishes in May, having 38 game weeks with 10 matches each, being a total of 380 matches per season.
The Liga BBVA is the third most watched football league in the world and the best league classified in the UEFA league coefficients.
Started in 1928, La Liga has only been conquered by nine clubs. The dominant clubs are Real Madrid and Barcelona, with a total of 33 and 23 titles. However, it was Atlético de Madrid (10) that won the the title last season. Atlético de Bilbao (8), Valência (6) and Real Sociedad (2) were the other teams that have won the league more than once, while Deportivo la Coruna, Real Bétis and Sevilla only won the title once.
As of last season, the Liga BBVA lost some good players such as Ander Herrera (Manchester United), Filipe Luis, Fábregas, Thibaut Courtois and Diego Costa (Chelsea), David Villa (New York City FC), Alex Song (West Ham), Alexis Sánchez (Arsenal), Xabi Alonso (Bayern FC), Puyol (retired), Valdés, Guardado (PSV), Diego López and Adil Rami (AC Milan), Bojan (Stoke City), Morata (Juventus), Tello, Arián and Brahimi (FC Porto), Diego (Fenerbahce) and Fazio (Tottenham). But, the biggest transfers out were Angel Di Maria from European Champions Real Madrid to Manchester United for 75 million Euros.
These transfers didn’t necessarily make the Liga BBVA weaker. The Spanish teams spent more than 400 million Euros on strong reinforcements: Cerci, Ansaldi, Oblak and Mandzukic (Atlético de Madrid), Douglas, Vermaelen and M. Ter Stegen (Barcelona), Javier Hernandez, K. Navas and Kroos (Real Madrid), Negredo, Rodrigo, André Gomes and Otamendi (Valência). But the biggest signings of the season happened in Madrid and Barcelona. James Rodriguez and Luis Suárez have joined La Liga for 160 million Euros, almost half of the all money spent by the all Liga BBVA clubs this season.
There are many great player choices to make which will make an even better team for you to aim to build. But, since it’s the league with better players, their prices are high. Only the Barclays PL players are more expensive than these ones. To the players with a limited budget, there are other better options.

This is Casilla’s weak point. Even though he can’t be considered a short goalkeeper, the truth is he’s 9 cm short of the mighty Przemysław Tytoń, this gold goalkeeper holds the title of tallest Liga BBVA Goalkeeper. None of the top goalkeepers has 1,90m or more.

The choice for the best Liga BBVA goalkeeper on FIFA 15 Ultimate Team is easy.
In our opinion, even though he was downgraded again, Casillas is still the best choice. Besides being the best with one of the two most important attributes and the second best on the other, he’s also the fastest. For us, Claudio Bravo is the number two. He is the La Liga goalkeeper with highest total stats. Diego Alves is the best alternative to these players. Despite not having good positioning and decent handling, he is one of the best in the world in the two more important attributes. He is a huge bargain.

Defending and heading may be useless against fast opponents. It’s necessary to fight fire with fire. No one likes feeling impotent when seeing you get overrun by extremely fast players. Even though, in a way, centre backs aren’t that fast, every team needs one of these players with a high pace attribute.
The Madrid players are the fastest in Liga BBVA and some of the fastest in the world. But there are other fast players in La Liga. Pepe and Miranda are also fast players and possess good attributes, both players are a viable option for a defence based on the Liga BBVA.

If you don’t have enough coins to buy him, choose De Marcos. He has poor defensive stats but he is really fast and strong, which may be important too. If you are looking for someone with better defensive skills, you can try João Pereira, Juanfran or Carajal.

Left backs have exactly the same role of their team mates on the other flank. In other words, they try to make a winger’s job hard and participate in the team’s offensive manoeuvres.

To choose the best Left Back from Liga BBVA is a hard task. Marcelo is slightly better than Alba in almost every stat, but the pace of the Spanish player can make the difference many times. Especially in FIFA 15. What he lacks in these attributes he highly compensates with his pace. That’s the main reason why we consider him the best Liga BBVA left back.
Of all the remaining players, Fábio Coentrão is probably the most interesting one. However, Cristian Ansaldi is our cheapest choice. He doesn’t have the same efficiency as the others we referred too but he’s fast enough to cause some offensive damage and possesses decent skills.

Many of the FIFA 15 Ultimate Team formations require some midfielders that have a natural aptitude to defend. Central defensive midfielders distinguish themselves for being especially aimed to help the more retreated line of their teams. According to their attributes and their work rates, they can also be useful for starting attacks. They are players that occupy a very strategic position in the field.

There are a variety of attributes in a central defensive midfielder that you have to give attention: defending, so that the first defender of team works; strength, so that you win all brawls in a prone area of the field; heading, to win possession in aerial moves like goal kicks; pace, so that you cover the most terrain on the field as possible; stamina, so they can equally participate in offensive and defensive moves (especially useful for players with high/high work rates); passing and possession so that he can properly start attacks. In our opinion the two first are the most important.
Normally using a central defensive midfielder is associated with having a deficit of elements in your defence. So, it makes sense that when you search for a player to occupy this position you’d want players that can defend.
The CDM with best defending stats is Khedira. Besides that, he is also one of the players that have better heading so he is a really good choice for teams that want to complicate an opponent’s game in the space between the midfield and the defence.

Turan, Griezmann and Pedro are decent players by a much more fair price. Turan, the cheapest of the three, is almost as good as the others and for that reason our economic choice. He is really great on passing and dribbling but a bit slow, so be sure to apply him a chemistry style to boost the pace.

The choice for this team’s players was based on analysis made in the previous chapters.
Iker Casillas has been downgraded but he is still the best Liga BBVA goalkeeper.
Sergio Ramos keeps on being the boss of the defensive foursome for all and a few more reasons. His weakest point is his attacking work rate and that’s why someone more defensive should play next to him. That’s the case of Pepe, who is better than Miranda not only in this point but also in his amazing physical stat. On the right side, Dani Alves does not have any competition. However, it is important to keep in mind that the Brazilian player looks more an attacker than a defender. If you are looking for someone with better defending work rate, you should try another right back. In the left side, it’s difficult to choose between Alba and Marcelo. To us, what makes the difference is the great Alba’s pace, something so important in FIFA 15.
In Liga BBVA, there is no one as good to keep the defence well protected as Khedira. Not even Busquets. For the next position, James Rodriguez is the most balanced player. The FIFA 15 game play style is better to him and Modric, than to Iniesta and Xavi.
On the wings, the team have two of the best players of the game: Gareth Bale and Ronaldo. In the right side no one can be compared with the ex-Spurs player. In the left side, it is a waste to leave a player like Neymar out of this team. However, since there isn’t many people that can afford Ronaldo, the most likely is to be the Portuguese to stay out of the team.

Claudio Bravo is the number two in the best La Liga goalkeepers list. Ter Stegen, that is making his début in Liga BBVA does not reach the level of the Chilean goalkeeper not even of Diego Alves, who stands out for having the most important attributes much developed.
Pepe and Miranda complement each other very well in a fast and strong defence. De Marcos shows his amazing pace in the right side, while Fábio Coentrão replaces reasonably well Alba and Marcelo in the opposite side.

Diego Alves is one of the most expensive players in this squad but he’s most likely to be seen as an investment of certain return.
Iñigo Martínez is probably the ‘bets value for money’ you will ever find in Liga BBVA. He is slightly worse than Pepe and Miranda but his price is several times lower. That’s what happen with Ansaldi too: because he is not a rare card, he is strongly undervalued. However his performance remains the same. João Pereira and Vermaelen are the two other defenders.

As for midfielders an alternative to isco up as this has some work indexes H / L and in some cases it is better to someone with more defensive index. Between Xavi and Rakitic, Which is better ?.

Hi Rodrigo, for CB I have Sergio Ramos, IF Otamendi, Varane and Pepe. In a pack now I got SIF Godin, which looks like a beast, but he has only 69 in pace (71 sprint speed though). You think I should keep him or sell him? If I keep him, which of my CB should I sell? The think I like of Godin is his M/H, there are very few CB in La Liga with M/H which is the reason I have Pepe despite being awful with the ball in his feet.

Now that prices databases are not working it is more difficult to know if a specific card price is going up or down. It’s the case of Suarez.
Second Inform De Gea is probably the best GK I’ve played with in FUT 15. He stops almost everything. He has won me many matches. In one match he stopped 23 shots and around 5-6 shots were sure goals. I won that match 2-0.. Can you tell whether he will be upgraded on February 13th or not?

Casillas is a good buy but don’t expect miracles from him.
Sergio Ramos is a must buy. If you don’t like any of the RM, you will have to put a player out of position there, which is something we don’t recommend.
Suarez is a bit expensive. Maybe you should go for the other improvements first.
Hey Thank you Rodrigo.. Do the IF cards perform better than the NIF cards? I have SIF De Gea who stops almost every shot that comes at him but on the other hand SIF Rakitic performs the same as his NIF card. TOTY kroos plays a lot better than his Normal card

We recommend to choose players with high stats and those attributes (pace, dribbling and passing, defending) and then use styles only to fine tune. The styles you apply depends of the player you choose. In your case, for example, maybe you should choose a boost in pace to Khedira because he already has good defensive stats.

Then as the shot is not as important but would be interesting Style applied chemistry of motor xavi, james rodriguez, iniesta and modric ?. I made havia modric and iniesta maestro because they have worse statistics chute that rhythm, but more importantly the pace, passing and dribbling in that case it would be better to change to engine ?. For best would put shadow busquets powehouse ?.

Hi, if you apply a shadow chemestry to Mascherano that boost his pace and defending stats you would still insist in not using him? Pepe is better than him for sure, but a guy like Miranda is better than Mascherano in heading and pace, but Mascherano is better than Miranda in so many important stats for a defender like positioning, agression, standing tackle, reactions and especially interceptions, Mascherano has a beast rating on interceptions of 92 against 81 of Miranda.
Miranda also has really poor passing stats, for a CB is useful to have decent short passing, like Mascherano has at 78 vs 64 of Miranda. Finally you said ball control is also important in a CB and Mascherano has 82 against a poor 64 of Miranda.
I don’t get it why so few people use Mascherano, if you learn how to use it he really is a great player you just boost his pace and then the only negative aspect of him is his heading.
My CB’s would be Sergio Ramos and Pepe and on the bench Mascherano and Varane. Mathieu

Chemistry Styles don’t have an effect so big as many people thinks. Even with a pace boost he is much slower than Miranda and that’s really important in FIFA 15. We don’t say that he is not a good player. We just think that Miranda is better for most of the gamers.

My Fut team is a La Liiga based squad with 3 Bundesliga players. I always use the 4-3-2-1 formation. This squad may sound a bit odd for most people but because of Robben’s incredible performance I’ve won the division 1 title a couple of times. I play a passive game until i get the ball and when i get it i don’t like to take it slowly. Normally i just pass, but of course not always I pass to any of my attackers and dribble past defenders straight away. If that’s not working i put in Keita Musa and Martins for pace and mostly often i score a lot of goals and win my matches. My coach is from Netherlands and his League is La Liiga. Evert player in my team got 10 Chem except the attackers, Traore 7, Robben 6 and Aubameyang 6 aswell.
My Chemistry is 99. Since I’ve won the title i feel that my team is almost completed, however that 99 chemistry instead of 100 is really annoying, do you have any suggestions what i could do? I just want to know an opinion from a real pro! 😉

I will not suggest any changes because if you are winning, then it’s all what matters. Sergio Ramos, for example, seems an obvious one.
About 99 chemistry it isn’t something you should be concerned. It is almost the same thing. Maybe you should apply a Bundesliga card to your Netherlands coach. It may be more useful than La Liga since most (or all) your La Liga players already have Individual Chemistry 10.

Sergio Ramos you say, one of the best if not the best defender in the world, I’ll probably buy him later on when I get more money. By the way how about Mathieu. He’s one of my favorites, and since I’m often playing against high level squads Mathieu always seem to be that guy for me who can take the ball from elite attackers. When I’ll buy Sergio Ramos do you think Pepe should be his partner, Miranda or Mathieu just wanted to know your opinion what you would do and why?:) And secondly why do you prefer Varane over Mathieu, just wondering:)
Finally i just wanted to add that this whole article was very great and I think the fact that whether you have played Ultimate team for a long time or not, everyone can pick upp something from it, however when I read about midfielders I read about Kroos and it was said;”Kroos is too slow for this game.”
Yea he is slow but he got other stats that is incredible. Why don’t you like Kroos? For me he is a big part of my game and the absolute best when it comes to passing and corners, not to forget his shooting which is pretty solid for a midfielder.

1) If you play with Sergio Ramos, Pepe needs to be his partner. Ramos has high attacking work rate and Mathieu too. Pepe is medium. You can not have two CB’s with high attacking work rate because you need players in your defence.
2) Varane has medium attacking WR which is really important. Besides that he is much better in several important attributes for his position: sliding tackle, short passing, heading, jumping, ball control…
3) BBVA has great midfielders. You have other options besides Kroos. Obviously, he will be a good player for many gamers but for most of the community there are better players for this position in this league.

He has great defensive skills but, in our opinion, he is too slow. Pace is very important in FIFA 15 and it is important to use fast defenders because your opponents will use fast forwards. He may be better in a 5xx formation and can also be used as CDM because pace is not so important in this position.

Don’t have any advice. You already have a good affordable team. Vela is the second best RM and Griezman seems OK to the lef side.
If you want a good RW you may think on Jesus Navas is spanish and better than Vela

For GK Casillas is better but more expensive and only slightly better than Bravo so not worth it.
For CB if you have more coins, Sergio Ramos next to Mascherano would be ideal. Pepe is a great option aswell, but I prefer Mathieu, faster and with better passing. Miranda passing stats are too bad for me.
Modric and Iniesta are absolute beast in the midfield.
Rakitic as CAM is also a great choice, but his pace is a bit slow for that position.
I tried both Giovani and Rodrigo and I can say Giovani is better, even though Rodrigo is stronger. Mandzukic is not fast but is really strong and also has a h/h work rate, so I recommend him aswell.

I think it is easier with BPL. But with Bundesliga it is also possible as you can see here. Fabregas, Navas and probably David Silva are important players.

I have Giovani on the bench but Mandzukic has scored 101 goals in 95 games with me, he’s not very fast but has good shooting and is really strong. Very rare when he loses one on one with defenders.

Giovani dos Santos is an absolute beast. Pretty much a poor man’s Messi but he is averaging a goal a game for me coming to 300 games. Plays better than Rodrigo in game.
can’t wait for the january transfer period! Probably some good players will change leagues and we can improve or change our squad again.
Great team, but I’ll stick with my BPL squad, at least it’s affordable. Prices for BBVA stars are too crazy, it’s almost impossible to build unlimited budget squad without investing “real money”.
Between 8 and 16 million and then just regular rare cards, not even TOTY or TOTW cards…
BBVA may be cheaper if you don’t use Messi, Ronaldo, Bale and Luis Suárez.
But without Messi, Ronaldo, Bale and Suarez you’re running out of good strikers or forwards very fast in the BBVA. On the other hand in the BPL even Agüero (the best striker) and Hazzard are affordable. And how about Diego Costa, Falcao, Rooney, Van Persie and Di Maria… All good players and with some trading possible to buy. All of them together are cheaper than Messi, Ronaldo or Bale.
With my BPL team I beat any team on highest level. I think that’s not possible with a BBVA team without at least one of the big players. Even on left and right wing there are no really good alternatives for Bale and Ronaldo… BPL do have good options.
benzema, mandzukic, rodrigo, cerci, dos santos, uche are very good strikers and most of them are very cheap though. neymar is as expensive as hazard and he is good. has 5 star wf and 5 star skills. and those wingers of BPL are fast, but none of them is compareable to bale or cr7. and if you just need pace, the BBVA is not the right ligue for you. but the good thing about FUT is, that you dont have to concentrate on only one ligue. you can build hybrids and make the best out of both. i cant wait to test aguero next to bale 🙂
You’re right about hybrid squads. How do you want to fit Agüero with Bale and keep good chemicistry for Agüero? You already have a red link between him and Bale.
Any good Argentinian midfielders in BBVA to connect him too and keep 10 chem?
Perhaps use Falcao with James or even Diego Costa with Spanish players.
In fifa 14 I hooked up Agüero with Di Maria in a BBVA squad, however in fifa 15 Di Maria is a BPL player.
Take a look to see if this helps.
@ferry: in a 433 it is pretty easy. aguero st, hazard lw and toure or an other man city player as cm and aguero is on 10 chem (with loyalty).

I feel that Alves’ stats are better than Bravo’s stats and he should be a more preferred keeper than the Chilean. I also feel he is a huge bargain in being cheaper than most GKs of his quality, if not all.

Every year I one of those who say that Diego Alves is one of the best goalkeepers in the game. But this year, I think Bravo is better. I played with both and the Chilean GK was my favourite.
In fact, goalkeepers doesn’t have many secrets because they only have six attributes. Diving, reflexes and handling are the most important ones. Comparing all these stats, you find that Bravo is a much more balanced GK. He is no good as Diego in reflexes and diving, but in everything else he is better.

It is indeed true that goalkeepers hide no secrets. Their 6 attributes show us how good they are in game.
Just like you, i am also a fan of Diego Alves every year. I supported him now based on my FUT 14 experience where he was my second choice BBVA keeper after Casillas. He made some amazing saves and saved my skin numerous times with 90 diving and 90 reflexes. Now with just a reduction of 2 points. I expected him to be just as good. But experience trumps prediction.
But with Casillas being just around 20k, he is becoming an affordable option to buy, with just a little bit of trading. The price might reduce even further if he plays the Euro qualifiers as woeful as his WC 2014 performances, which i hope does not happen with him being the keeper of the class he is.
He can guard the goal better than the other two and will be good return for money.
P.S. For your next guide, just try to make it of a nation which is performing really worse at the qualifiers. We will be able to get players of good quality and also prices will reduce after some angry fans discard their players for bargain prices. (Just kidding!)
