Tips On How to Start FIFA 14 Ultimate Team the Best Possible Way

For those who play or have played previous versions of FIFA Ultimate Team, there’s always that positive feeling that everything will start again. You’ll finally have the chance to start over from scratch, equally with others, knowing that you won’t make the same mistakes again. Everything now has to be perfect for you to be able to reach higher glory, sooner and long-lasting. Read on if you are prepared to rocket ahead of the pack or if you’re going to have another false start.

For those who are playing FUT for the first time, by reading this guide you are preparing yourself for the problems you may face. After all, Ultimate Team players are not so different to one another. Some are better traders; some control the players better on the field, but everyone has to be good club managers.

Every club who wishes of being successful has to create bases of sustainability. You have to do things at the right time. The beginning of FIFA 14 Ultimate Team is the single most important moment of the game.

Here’s our check-list on the ten things to do at the start of FIFA 14 Ultimate Team – the perfect way:

  • Prepare yourself;
  • Start as soon as possible;
  • Pick a name
  • Sell all your cards;
  • Gather even more coins;
  • Start Trading;
  • Hire Managers;
  • Buy Contracts;
  • Form your Team;
  • Play.

PREPARE YOURSELF

Before starting the season you have to prepare yourself. You have to plan it.

The first thing to do is try to get to know the game. Is there anyone who has ever won a chess match without knowing the rules? Probably not. FUT 14 is a game like any other and it has (many) rules. The truth is you don’t need to know all of them, but the more you know the better the chances are of you being even more successful.

If it’s the first time you’re playing FUT, try learning some of the basics on the FIFA 14 Ultimate Team Home, the biggest information aggregator on the game, It will be easier to follow our tips if you already have some knowledge.

If you’ve played FUT 13 or a previous version, you will be looking forward to seeing what has changed and what is new. Not knowing how the chemistry styles work or that the consumable pile is unlimited can cost you a less than perfect beginning. And you don’t want that, do you?

FUT 14 Home is the Starter Point to any FUT 14 player

In the planning stage it is good to know your own expectations. It may seem unnecessary and even too theoretical but all of us should take a couple of minutes to idealize what we want for our club. Do we want one or more teams? Is our objective to have the best players or do we want to try unknown ones? Are we going to stick with regular players or are we going to enhance them to the IF versions? Are we going to play with bronze, silver, gold or all of them? How much time will we play? Will we buy packs? How many coins will we need?

The more questions you can answer equals the better your approach to the game. The fulfillment of the tasks listed above will give you an edge to your approach that will equal enhanced results.

START AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

The sooner you start playing FIFA 14 Ultimate Team, your chances are greater of being successful. This is due to the beginning of the game being the most important time. Everything is easier in these first moments and everything will be even easier in the future due to the waterfall effect.

With the passage of time the market will tend to become more and more stable. Keep in mind in the beginning it’ll be very unstable, This is the best time to make great deals, If you know what you’re doing you’ll get a good head start, It’s just a question of knowing how to identify the opportunities and being able to predict how the market is going to develop.

Your profit won’t just reflect in coins. If you do everything earlier, you will have bigger chances of forming a superior team compared to the competition and with that potentially win more games, which means more coins. With more coins you’ll build a better team and so on.

Starting early is the first step towards success, so how to do it? Simple, we’ll show you the various alternatives at your disposal:

    FUT 14 Web App
If you are a returning player it’s impossible to miss an opportunity of starting your season earlier. A FUT 14 Web App is available from 13th of September, exclusively to the FUT 13 players who have created a Security Question and Answer on FUT console before August 1, 2013. It’s this that defines the beginning of the game with the start of the market, for those who don’t want to lose terrain YOU have to be there. You’ll receive a starter pack and some welcome packs due to your antiquity with FUT. During the first days Daily Gifts will also be offered, so the sooner you start the more you could win. In the beginning you’ll need all the cards you can get to start your first investments. If you haven’t bought the game, join the FUT 14 Web App. There are too many benefits at stake not to.
    Season Ticket
If you’re willing to gain a head start on the competition at all costs you could invest in a Season Ticket. You won’t take advantage of the market seeing as how FUT 14 Web App will already be up and running (unless you’re a first time player), but you’ll anticipate three days worth of game won coins. If you’re a good player, you could achieve the most precious victories of the season. If you want to know more regarding the Season Ticket, click HERE.
    Buying Packs or Coins
If money isn’t a problem for you, there’s a much simpler way of obtaining coins for your first investment: buying them. If you chose this path, ask us for a trustworthy seller. Seeing as how most sellers are scam artists. There is even another way more pleasant to EA Sports and responsible for the unbalanced situation of the market on its first days of life: the buying of packs. After all you won’t be buying coins directly but paying for cards that will convert to coins in the transfer market. If there is any right moment to do this it’s in the beginning of the game.
    Game Release
If you didn’t follow any of the first three alternatives for a good start, at least try to be active when the game is released. Worse than not being able to anticipate the competition is to allow yourself to get overcome by the majority. At this time a lot of players start playing FUT. They are not just random players. Most of them are newcomers, eager to play but immature enough to drown the market with valuable cards at low-cost prices. You have to be there to seize this opportunities. And have to be active as long as possible while it’s easy to buy and sell at great profit margins. That’s why it’s also important to start before this date to have time to study the market and be ready to attack it.

If you didn’t start early enough or if you just discovered the wonders of Ultimate Team mid-season, don’t worry because you’ll have the chance to build a good club. Not as great, but still good.

Tips On How to Start FIFA 14 Ultimate Team the Best Possible Way

Season Ticket is one of the ways to go a few steps ahead of the competition

PICK A NAME

When starting the game for the first time, you’ll be asked to maintain the name of your club (exclusive to returning players) or if you choose to pick another one. If you choose to abdicate your antiquity will be reset.

Insert the name you chose but have in mind you can’t change it without recurring to the items in the EASFC catalogue and that these are limited in number and may require level 22 of experience XP which you may not have. Pay special attention to this step. You want a perfect club and just remember, more haste less speed,

SELL ALL YOUR CARDS

After inserting your club name you’ll be gifted with some packs. The first, a Starter Pack, consisted of 34 cards, mostly bronze (29 more 2 silver and 3 gold). This pack, besides enough players to start playing, where silver and gold are included with 45 contracts each one, possesses also everything your club needs to start. In other words, the club item cards which will be part of the pack will be: at least one stadium, one ball, one badge and two kits (home and away). All the cards of this first pack are untradeable, which means that you can not sell it.

Your antiquity in this game mode is also worth cards. In average you’ll receive one gold pack for every FUT played (starting in September). Most of the 12 cards in the pack will be gold, for which these offers assume particular importance in the start of your club. You’ll be rewarded too with two all players pack, each one with 4 bronze players cards, 4 silver players cards and 4 gold players cards (at least one rare).

As soon as you’ve opened all your packs, this is when the game really starts. Seeing as how this is when you’ll have to make your first decisions. You were given the minimal conditions to create your club and you’ll have to know how to manage it with what you have. This is where most players make their first mistakes, sometimes deadly. They start playing and after seven games they can’t progress because the game prizes are insufficient to buy contracts. They stay stuck since they started with zero coins they don’t have a way to pay for them. This is an obstacle almost every player can’t overcome.

To avoid this happening we advise the players to remain calm and to leave those first games for later. You can start playing after you’ve finished all the stages in the check-list. First you have to make your club self-sufficient, and that is done with coins. This is the first great step: transforming all you have at your disposal in coins. As little as it is we need something to later transform it into more. You can choose to take another path but we suggest this one: sell all the cards you received. But it doesn’t mean you have to do it at sale prices. Although time is money you don’t want to stay with your actives for stuck long, verify if there isn’t any valuable card you could sell for superior price than expected.

GATHER EVEN MORE COINS

The cards you’ve sold are already good enough for a good start but if you can gather some more your growth in the game will be even faster. That’s why it’s important for you to waste no possibilities.

Start by going to the EASFC catalogue and exchange your credits for coin boosts. As soon as you play your first matches you’ll receive a fundamental bonus to your clubs financial health.

If you have FUT 13 coins or another platform, try finding someone who’s interested in trading for FUT 14 coins. It won’t be easy and you’ll certainly be doing it for a disadvantageous ratio. But at least it’ll be worth some more coins for your first investment.

You can also search for give aways but the most common solution would be to buy coins with money or buying packs and then selling all the contents.

Don’t forget to read our GUIDE about how to earn coins

START TRADING

Now that you’ve already got some coins it’s time to start multiplying them. You should start with safe investments but always leaving some coins aside in case anything goes wrong. Don’t worry in starting slow. You have a whole season ahead of you. The first sales are always the harder to make but as you become richer you’ll have to reinvest most of what you earned but always leave some coins aside to buy your first cards. If you started playing in the beginning and its working great and after two days you’ve gathered enough to build your team. But never stop trading: it’s part of the game so you should do it from the first to the last day.

We know you want us to tell you which cards to bet on but that’s impossible. First, this article is going to be read about 200 thousand times which means any suggestion we make has the chance to become obsolete. Second, there isn’t a magic formula. Almost every card is capable of generating profit as long as you know trading, And for that nothing works better than following our super complete GUIDE TO TRADING.

On the other hand there are variations in the market in the early days of the game. If this is the moment you join the game it’s convenient that you know them.
First, it’s important to understand that the first days of the market which coincides with the first days of the Web App, the market is really scarce. It’s normal to see big players like Messi and Ronaldo being sold for 100k coins. Their price isn’t superior because there is no one with enough money to buy them. If you’re one of the lucky few to receive one of these players in a pack, which is highly unlikely do not sell them. In a few weeks they’ll be worth several times as much and you can capitalize on your asset.
This effect includes all other cards although the variation will be a lot inferior. All of them start at a much lower price and in just a few days the prices spike, In a general way after one month they hit what will be its maximum price. Until the end of the game the price gradually lows, with some fluctuation due to special TOTW, TOTY, TOTS, transfer market, game updates, popular tournaments, etc…

It’s because of this initial effect of money shortage that it’s important to attack the market as soon as possible. If you get rich fast enough to still catch the season of low prices you’ll have your future in the game guaranteed.
For your first investments we recommend your first cards to cost between 150 and 300 coins that you can sell with a profit of about 50%. The consumables are normally excellent targets for this end and in FUT 14 they’ve become more appealing since the consumables pile has been removed. You can know buy all you can in the beginning of the game at sale prices and if you don’t sell all of them you can keep storing them in your consumables pile that way you don’t disturb the trading you do with the other cards. Remember that it’s very important never to have coins or cards on hold. This can hamper your success. Start to study the market of the chemistry styles that most favour pace (catalyst, hunter and shadow). You’ll understand that there’s a considerable margin to the value of these cards. If you apply the trading tactics we explained in our guide we’re sure you’ll be even more successful. Tread carefully, especially in the first days of the market, you shouldn’t restrict to selling and buying the cards in a certain schedule. The trading should be continuous.

As soon as your staff and consumable cards have given you a profit bigger than 30k coins, you can then try widening your trading to players and spend some of those coins on the remaining things on our check-list.

The Shadow card is a really good card to who want to improve the defenders stats

Hire Managers

Now that you have some coins it’s time to make the first investment for the exclusive satisfaction of your club. The managers and contracts should be the first, because they normally represent small investments.

MANAGERS are the most important staff in FIFA 14 Ultimate Team and it’s simple to understand why. They can be the solution to a problem you should manage with extreme caution: contracts. These are the only consumables you are forced to buy to be able to play. Due to its strategic position in the game they tend to be extremely expensive. These are so expensive that a lot of people can’t gather enough coins to support them. More importantly than getting cheap contracts is guaranteeing it affects capacity to the max. This is thanks to managers in your club.

Every manager contributes with a raised percentage on all contracts: the gold with 3%, the silver with 2% and the bronze with 1%. You can hire managers so that the sum of your percentages equals 50%. This means that when applying a contract card to a player the number of games in the card will be added 50%. In a long-term step this will be extremely beneficial and in the short-term it will guarantee your match prizes to be superior than your spent contracts. The sustainability of your team will be guaranteed.

Despite that, all of your first actions in the game must be thought out and with caution. Buying managers must be done the cleverest possible way. Always choose the cheapest and for example check to see if there aren’t three bronze managers cheaper than a golden one. The only thing that is important is hitting that 50% bonus at the cheapest possible price. So later, when building your team to beneficiate the chemistry that you’ll have to concern over buying a manager that has a nationality or a league best fitted amongst the players you want.

BUY CONTRACT CARDS

As we’ve told you, the contract cards have an important strategic role in the game. If a player is injured or physically tired, you can put him in the bench or in the reserves until he recovers instead on applying an injury card or a fitness card. That however is not valid when a player is without contracts. The only way of making him play again is by applying a CONTRACT CARD. This has to be done.

Normally, this strategic importance is taken advantage by groups of players to create profit. In the beginning the money in circulation is insufficient for price fixing, the prices of the contracts only tend to rise. Unlike most cards, the more it reaches the end of the season, the more expensive they stay.

That’s why it makes perfect sense to buy contracts as soon as possible. Preferably before most players make 7 games, because since the player cards are put with 7 contracts (except starter pack), they’ll be coveted as soon as they expire, That’s why it’s a good idea to buy contracts in the exclusive period of the FUT 14 Web App before the launch of the game.

With the 50% bonus the managers offer you and with cheap contracts, you won’t ever need to think if the game prize is enough to cover your costs.

Tips on how to start FIFA 14 Ultimate Team the Best Possible Way

The only cost that you have by playing matches are the contracts.
Fix this problem before start playing.

FORM YOUR TEAM

Now that the house is clean you can finally begin building your dream team. That is why it is good to plan what you’re doing. After all, this is the task that is going to cut a bigger slice out of your budget.

You probably already have an idea of the players you want to play with it’s convenient at least, unless you’re a squad building expert, between this there’s a common element. In FUT 14 it’s not enough to gather a good group of players. You need to have a good mesh between them. In other words, good chemistry. Preferably players with the same nationality or at least that play in the same league. If they play in the same club you may not even need to put them next to their other team mates.

But chemistry is not the only thing you have to have in mind when selecting players. You should also have in mind their characteristics. For every position verifies the attributes that you value more in your style of play and certify that the players have those attributes. Having a team with a good rating will be useless if you won’t be able to take advantage of your players and if they don’t fit you style of play.
In case you already chose the formation you’ll be playing with, be careful when picking players whose positions won’t be adaptable. For example: if it’s in a 4-1-2-1-2 (2) you’ll be playing, avoid buying players that are RM/LM/RW/LW/RF/LF.

If you want to have a good team in the shortest time possible you’ll have to buy with intelligence. Most importantly in the beginning, if you make the wrong decision, you may be mortgaging your future. Now that you’ve saved up some coins, try starting to fill places in your squad with medium players that will serve as substitutes or reserves in the future. Every time your balance allows, buy a first team player. One by one you’ll form your team. This way, you’ll have time to analyse the behaviour in the market of your next purchase and you’ll be able o buy good players at lower prices.
If you started playing with the start of the FUT 14 Web App, than you’ll have 15 days to form your first team.

Play

The moment for searching for glory in the field is finally here. If you’ve followed all the tips we left here, you can relax because your club has everything it needs to succeed. Just to be sure, it’s convenient to rehearse before challenging powerful adversaries. This is because winning games is an excellent way of winning coins but losing doesn’t work as well.

Even if you’ve played other modes in FIFA 14, you should test out Ultimate Team on single player mode. The game is slightly different and you’ll want to be prepared to not waste game prize coins. You’ll have the chance to test the players and your mesh with the formation and the team, but most importantly you’ll have the opportunity to adapt to a new FIFA, but don’t play that many matches. It’s just that the match prizes are superior on online mode and in the beginning every coin counts.

To raise your chances of success we leave you two tips.
First, occupy your substitutes who you are not thinking about using with the players with the lowest ranking in your club. This way it’ll allow you to artificially lower your teams rating and this will benefit you with a nicer matchmaking through matching you with adversaries with weaker teams.
Whatever you do never forfeit. Even if you’re being humiliated. Keep playing because if you quit your %DNF will lower from your 1.00 initial to values that will penalize the amount of coins you receive as a prize in the end of each game. And in that case you will be ruining the sustainability that you have conquered.

I don’t get what you mean by building up 50% contract bonus with managers? Surely you can only have one manager at a time? Or do their effects stack regardless of whether they are applied?

  2. james says:

    fantastic starter guide….

for anyone who has just skipped to the bottom to see the reviews or comments. Scroll back up and read it through, especially if you are new to the game, these tips helped me out massively last year and i had a very successful FUT experience

  3. Jack says:

Great guide, especially the advice about playing. I wasted a lot of time on the web app last season trying to make profits when really I should have been playing the game, not only because its an easy 500ish per game, but its what I bought the thing for.

  4. ethanjoel says:

hey great start guide for new comers to UT… Im having big trouble though…. I had about 5k through starter packs on FUT 14 WA.. and struggled to trade… so i bought 3 Marquinhos ( BRazillian CB) and im hoping that his price should rice alot when the game releases but i want to make alot of profit now so i can start trading now…. I cant find any good or decent deals anywhere

  5. tofu says:

    Hello, for your guide.
one question : the non tradeable cards we received, will be never tradeable?

  6. tofu says:

    I forgot a word : thanks

  7. tofu says:

another thing: can you tell EA that gold packs should contain 100 % gold elements !!!! and so on for the silver packs !!

  8. fredl17 says:

how much do you think will a chemistry style hunter costs after the release??

  9. BOBO says:

I do not understand how some people have money, even in the web app. How are people making money already? Quicksellers?

    • We for example have sold our cards and now are trading other ones. That’s how it is possible to make money.
Of course, that daily gifts, buying packs and quick sellers give a huge help to inject money into the market.
      Regards

      • BOBO says:

How were you able to sell your cards so fast then? For cheap? I’m asking because I didn’t get any desirable player cards and am trying to offload them.

Thanks for your answer btw. Love the article.

        • Hi.
We know that in this article it seems too easy to sell all our cards. And this year it is not as easy as it was in earlier ones.
The main problem is that there is less coins in the market. Everything will change when it will be possible to buy FIFA Points (consoles version). Until there, we need to try to sell the cards even by a lower price. We need coins to start trading and make more coins.
Why the things are different ? Easy. First because all the cards of the starter pack are untradeable. Then, because the loyalty bonus were much worse this year. It’s not you that have less coins. It is everybody. It will take more time to sell our coins because no one have money.
          Regards

  10. properjimmied says:

    Hey mate,

Looking for a bit of clarity on this statement:

“In average you’ll receive one gold pack for every FUT played (starting in September)”

I’ve been a FUT player since fifa10. Haven’t seen these packs yet. When in september can we expect to see these packs?

    • Hey.
When we say “starting in September” we want to say that it is different to start before or after September.
For example: if you have started in September 2012, you should get one gold pack but if you have started in October 2012 you probably don’t get any pack.
In your case, you should have got, at least one starter pack, two all players pack and 2 or 3 gold packs. If you are sure that it isn’t in “my packs” of your store, contact EA Sports in this specific link: http://forum.ea.com/uk/posts/list/2583830.page

  11. Sarbajit says:

I didnt get the 2 all player packs. At least I didnt notice in the first day. On the second day I checked and it wasnt there. Are they first day packs, cannot be opened later or am I missing something? I got the starter pack and the loyalty pack though. Do they give the 2 all player packs to everyone? Please reply ASAP. Please…

  12. marc says:

    great article.

i have a player that by looking around i think should be able fetch 8-9k right now. do you recommend holding on until the game starts and trying to sell him for more, or sell him to give me money now to start more investments? i guess my question depends on how much you predict prices to rise when the game is actually released.

    thanks!

    • Hi.
Right now there is not much money on the market. It will be difficult to sell it by a good price. The price will raise for sure but you should analyse what is better for you.
Imagine that you sell him now by that price. Do you think that you will be able to use that coins to make other good deals ? If you are extremely confident, do it. Otherwise, it will be better to wait and get the money.
      Regards

  13. Wayne Holden says:

Great article but im still having a bit of a problem. Ive been trading and im up to about 20k but the problem i have now is that the cost of my desired players for my squad have all risen and I cant afford to put together a whole team. I owned pretty much all of them before when there prices were low and sold them for small profits. Inflation is growing at the same pace im making profit!?

  14. yusuf says:

    hi
i sold all my players and got 8.5k, but then i opened a premium gold pack. i then got rubbish players and then i sold them and made 1k.
could you tell i way to trade

  15. Weelaandeer says:

    Hey!
I sold all my players and bought Kaka really cheap (1,5 k and sold him for 3,9 k), then I was so tempted to buy a gold pack so I did, and I got Buffon!
Should I try to sell him for 25k and buy chemistry styles, or just keep him for as long as possible for a big profit?
I will buy FIFA points as soon as possible, so Im not desperate in any way, just want to know your opinion.
    Great post btw!!

  16. ethanjoel says:

hey im back……Again im really struggling to find any trading methods or any deals worth any profit……I currently have around 15k and my aim is to get to about 25k tmorow night to buy a cheap profitable team…… But im really struggling for methods around that pirce i can use…..im looking for decent profits but cant find anything…

    Im on ps3 btw

Great article and sounds really helpful, but I can’t acces the FUT web app on phone or iPad. Do u need to use PC to acces it.
    Thanks

  18. BOBO says:

I dont understand how i am seeing bids of 100,000 on some players? How do I raise money like that?

    • 100k is a huge amount of money with this market right now.

    • BOBO says:

I actually checked out your suggestions and that’s what I have been doing with the cheap manager league cards. I was doing MLS and TUR, also Fatih Terim for 200 or so. I was turning in small profit for a day and now I cant even sell them. I am stuck with a bunch of manager league cards. What do you suggest for that?

  19. RedChronic says:

Great tips :) I just wish I read this a few days ago

12 gold player cards + 1 rare (Pastore)
    8 silver
    34 bronze

so do you mean now to quick sell all the players and cards I have and keep only the ones with 0 amounts ..
and start trading tell i get the game?

Plz help as am little bit confused..thx

    • Hi.
When post comments, try to use the “reply” button if it isn’t your first comment. We can’t find your first post but we will try to answer you.

If you will play only in November, you can start trading now. In order to do it, you will need coins. We don’t recommend to quick sell your cards. Place them on the transfer market and try to sell them. The, use that coins to make more coins.

      Regards

  23. ACE JOHNSON says:

Hello Rodrigo…your article is a very nice guide for new FUT starters like me…
I have a few questions if you are kind enough to answer them..
    1) Will i earn coins if i play divisions in FUT OFFLINE mode?
    2) The starter pack that i will get at the start of FUT, will those player contracts need to be bought again or are they inexhaustible?
    3) I know that the market keeps changing, but it will be very kind if you can tell me the approximate average of contract prices per player? say generally silver or bronze players…

    • Hi. Nice to meet you.
We will publish several guides very soon that will help you for sure. You will become a FUT expert in a couple of weeks.
About your questions (we are kind enough):
      1) Yes, you will. But not so much as in FUT online matches.
      2) You will need to buy contracts to them.
      3) As you said, the market is always changing. We can say to you that right now gold rare contracts are been selling by 400c, gold non-rare by 300c, silver rare by 250, silver by 150c, bronze rare and bronze by 150c. For gold contracts, you can get better prices in the 59th minute. Our suggestion is, in order to always know the market price of a card, is to add several cards to the transfer target. You will be able to see the real price.

Yes you are kind enough…thank you so much… :-)
I look forward to your upcoming guides and helps…
Do you recommend playing a few offline matches and earning some coins before I start to trade?
        thanks again…

        • Hi.
We recommend to start trading as soon as possible. About playing matches we think that you should use the start pack players to play offline and earn some coins to help your trading.
About the guides, we will publish several good guides in the coming days.

  26. Fraser says:

Hey, I don’t understand when you said sell all your players at the the start, I can’t sell my starter pack players so who can I sell? And for what amount of coins per card?

    • In order to make money, you need money. So, the best thing to do to help your trading is to sell your cards. You keep with the cards of starter pack (they are untradeable) but you should sell the other ones by a fair price. Don’t wuick sell them.
The start of the game is the most difficult part.

      • Alexander says:

Seriously what other cards? I only got cards from starter pack. So i should play a game or two then? Cause i have 0 money and no tradable cards!

        • Sure. If you only got the starter pack, you need to use other methods to collect coins. Playing matches with your starter pack players seems OK. If you think that your players are not good enough to play against other teams, play offline.

    Hi,
I have 26 squad fitnesses in my consumables but when I go to apply to my team they don’t appear just my single squad fitnesses has anybody else had this problem? Am I doing something wrong.
    Regards Paul

    • Probably.
To know if it has disappeared or not, go to “My Club” – “Consumables”.
In the active squad menu, when you select a player and choose “apply a consumable”, it may not appear because it is a squad item and not a player item. You need use the ‘Actions’ features in the active squad menu.

i have build a 77 overall team with players like abiatti , close, niang, kovacevic,de jong, etc, should i sell all of them and buy new players or i should sell one at a time then buy another player and so on, play matches to have more coins etc? which way should i aproach, my goal is to have a seria a team with players like pirlo, balotelli , el sharawy, chielini

  31. Chifor Razvan says:

thanks, maybe it is good to play with ny bronze silver and gold players from the start, even if i dont win si win coins , because i have a lot of contracts on them, then when i have like 20000 coins to buy a lot of contracts for my 77ovr team and like 15-20 managers, with the rest of money improve my squad and then i will look what players from the starter i dont like playing with and sell them and get the one i want, what do you think it is a good strategy?

  32. Chifor Razvan says:

my seria a team is getting bigger, i have snached barzagli, vucinic, montolivo….i have a question my chemistry needs to be 100? can it be 85+ to play great? because i have seen good players from other country or league, so i want to buy them? what do you suggest?one or 2 players will ruin my whole team play?

    • Hi.
What will happen is that players will play worse than they know and they will slightly affect other players. We do not recommend individual chemistry lower than 7 and team chemistry lower than 90.

Hi guys, I’m absolutely brand new to FUT.

Really basic stupid question. Once I open my packs and apply a few of the important things, where do the items that I sent to ‘the club’ go? Was this a mistake?

I can’t seem to find them to sell or trade unneeded players.

  36. nikhil says:

1.the big worry for me now is the contract items…is there any idea to get some more coins easily for new contracts…
2.My squad is full of gold players but subs arre silver and bronze and gold players are getting tired what should i do ??

    • Hi.
      1) Buy managers to increase the contract cards effect and go to EAS FC redeem the contracts 99 item
      2) You need to become a trader to get coins for players. Check our trading guide that wil be published tomorrow.

    Hi,

I have read on a few fut articles about buying silver cards. Except for using them in silver competitions, and trading them for profit to people who need them for silver comps, is there any other reason to buy them.

Do people make silver teams to get lower matched games and go up the rankings that way. Or not possible?

  40. Simon says:

I’m playing Fifa 14 Ultimate Team on my phone (Android).

I have around 60 cards that are “untradeable”. I understand that players in your starter pack are untradeable, but obviously I have more cards than that. The only thing I can think of is that when you complete an objective and get a Pack as a reward, then players in that pack are untradeable. Is that the case?

Hi, I bought the unlimited edition fifa 14, so therefore I had 5 gold packs to open, is it best to sell my cards or start playing with them? The chemistry is around 70 for my team, thanks

  43. Lee pollard says:

Ok thanks, when I go to sell them is it best to start the bidding at 150? Because on fifa13 when I tried to sell my players I never got full value , cheers

  44. nikhil says:

whats the difference between the rare Card managers like David Moyes and Jose Mourihino with +3%contract and other Managers with +1% contracts

    • You already answered. :) The difference is the contract boost they give.
Your clubs managers affect the players’ contracts in a positive manner. Each manager’s card shows the percentage bonus in contracts that the manager provides.
By applying a contract card, its effect is multiplied by the sum of the managers’ coefficients that the club has. For more managers that you have, the sum of these coefficients can never be higher than 50%.

Hi on FIFA 13 the player cards had formations on them but on 14 there seems to be nothing about formations and just the actual positions? But when you go on squad you have to choose your formation, is it not that important this year? Thanks

    • Hi.
Formations still exist in FUT 14 but a player can play in any of them without damaging the chemistry. The same is to say that players no longer have formations and formations cards have ended.
      Find more about it HERE.

in some of the online tournament matches there are some requirements like “Min. no. of nationalities 4 in squad’s starting 11″

  47. nikhil says:

thanks for ur last reply on that nationality thing in starting 11 now the problem is arising is that it says min. star level should be 4 and my team has 4.5star ratings….but still its showing i am not matching the requirements as my team doesn’t matches 4star ratings :(

    • Hi.
You are a lucky man. It is the more expensive goalkeeper of the game.
We believe that his price will increase but we don’t know when. To sell or not to sell depends of which kind of team you have right now. If you need that money to build your squad, sell him. Also, if you are a good trader you can easily double that coins.

    Hi..
Thanks for the great guide. I am playing FIFA 14 on my android. I just received Hulk (rated 84) in a Gold pack. Could you please guide me as to what is the right price and time to sell him ?

    • Hi. Thank you.
The mobile market is different from the consoles market. Even the stats may be different. So, I can not say to you if this is a fair price or not.
But I can suggest something: go to transfer market and add 30 Hulks to your transfer target list. Do it in different times. Then, after a while, check for which prices he has been sold. That’s the best way to know his price.
      Regards

      • Shwetank says:

Thank so much for your prompt and insightful advice.
The only problem is that the mobile FIFA 14 transfer market doesn’t seem to have a ‘search by player name’ option. Also, the transfer target list doesn’t show what price a player that one watched was sold at. It just shows ‘expired’ after the particular bid is over.

Hi, I admit that fifa 14 is alot harder to play than previous games, but am I the only one who thinks that fifa 14 is fixed in some sort of way, 9/10 times I am all over my opponent for the whole game and have well over 60% possession and alot more chances to score but I still seem to lose, it’s so frustrating when I am playing so well every game and then my opponent has one half chance and he wins the game, just wandering if other players are having the same problem as me? Thanks

    Good afternoon,
Great guide, extremely detailed and informative.
I am only confused about one thing, I have recently opened up a FUT under my xbox live, the game already had another roommate playing ultimate team under his own xbox live profile.
He was given some gold packs on top of his starter pack when he formed his team, but for some reason I was only given a starter pack with players that are untradeable when I started mine.
Can I only make coins from winning games now? Or should I delete and restart my team and hope to get the starter packs like he did?
Or am I missing something obvious…
    Thanks!!

Hey Rodrigo…for some reason my players are ALWAYS tired even when I play, team of the week, tournaments ir matches…even my subs are tired..is there a consumable for that?

  56. Luxxar says:

Hola Rodrigo, asumí que hablas español por tu nombre (jif you don’t speak spanish please let me know and I’ll start it over).

    • Hola.
Yes, I talk Spanish too but I will answer in English since you understand it.
You can not do many thins with your starter pack since the cards of this pack can not be sold. Play with them until expire their contracts. It is your chance to earn coins from matches without spending anything.
      Saludos.

In other words, all i want to do is start from the scratch with FUT14. I saw the option “erase club” but i don’t know if i will receive a new starter pack and coins again. Or should I erase my Origin account and register a new one?
I want to start it over following all your tips this time.
        Gracias amigo! !

        • Hi.
You don’t need to erase your Origin account. It is easier to delete your club. It will be the same: you will get a starter pack but no coins. The start of the game is a bit difficult, so think well if you want to do it.
If you have a good amount of coins now, or good players, give them to a friend and ask them back after you create your new club. You will lose everything you have now when you delete your club.
          Regards

“…The first, a Starter Pack, consisted of 34 cards, mostly bronze (29 more 2 silver and 3 gold). This pack, besides enough players to start playing, where silver and gold are included with 45 contracts each one, possesses also everything your club needs to start…”

I don’t mean this in a negative way at all, but man; you MUST clean up your grammar. I realize English may not be your first language, but this is just one of many excerpts which cannot be interpreted due to such poor choice of words. Common sense dictates to a certain degree what you’re attempting to communicate; but even still; it is *far* from being clear. One who speaks English poorly would have no hope of understanding the excerpt I have quoted.

Hi, great guide very interesting to read and your team guides are fantastic.

I had a beginners question, once you have decided on which league/type of team you are going for (serie a for me) is it worth buying a full 22 players and swapping each game? I currently swap around 9-10 players each game with my subs/reserves to keep fitness levels up but I am unsure if this is the best policy. Other people I know don’t even use reserves. My method avoids having to buy fitness cards but you don’t always have your best team playing.

I read having weakest players as subs helps to match make you with weaker opponents which I will need to try.
