FIFA 15 Winter Upgrades Introduction
When compared to other game modes the players in FIFA 15 Ultimate Team aren’t automatically updated throughout the season according to their appearances in real life. Some may receive In Form cards, but most players remain with the characteristics they were given at the start of the season. In Ultimate Team, upgrades are made through the release of new cards in determined periods: in Summer and in Winter Upgrades seasons. This last one happens in February and rewards the players who stood out the most along the first half of the season.
When a player is upgraded, the cards that start appearing in packs have got the new ratings and attributes according to their performances on the pitch in real life. This is different to what happens with the NIF cards, the IF cards released before the upgrades will be upgraded in the same way as those (but automatically) except if there’s already been a category change within the UP card attribution. To understand better how these cards work, please read our guide about Ultimate Team upgrades.
The community wants to know who are the players that will be upgraded and we are here to help them. We conducted an analysis for the amount of IF cards assigned to each player compared to the H2H rating improvements. We also combined these conclusions to the stats of several leagues in the current season to create a players shortlist with good chances to get an UP card. Remember that this is only a prediction. It doesn’t mean that these players will be upgraded. They have a good chance at being upgraded but it is not guaranteed.
FIFA 15 Winter Upgrades Prediction
In order to keep things simple, we will analyse only gold players and the best silver players. We will also split the players into two groups: the ones who have really good chances to be upgraded and the ones with decent chances.

If Lacazette doesn’t get a new card, no one will get. He is scoring one goal per match, which makes him the favourite to be in this shortlist. There is a huge speculation around his In Form cards.

De Gea has been the best Manchester United player this season. His two In Form cards give him an excellent chance to get upgraded.

Manchester United are probably still thinking why they haven’t signed Otamendi. He is responsible for the good season Valencia are having in Liga BBVA.

The Wolfsburg’s Brazilian centre back is in form. He is playing very well and scoring lots of goals.

If his club is still very close to PSG in the league and it is because of him. Ruffier was one of the players with biggest improvements in H2H, so it will be only natural if he gets an upgrade also in Ultimate Team.

Prediction: 76 -> 78
The number 13 of Schalke 04 scored in most of the matches, made several assists for his team mates and was elected four times the man of the match in Bundesliga. It should be enough to be upgraded in FIFA 15.
YACINE BRAHIMI

Prediction: 77 -> 79
Brahimi won the African Footballer of the Year 2014 award, beating popular names like Touré, Gervinho and Aubameyang. He has been the best player for his team in most of the matches.

Harry Kane is another player that everyone is talking about getting a winter upgrade. Let’s see if he reaches the gold level, making it impossible to improve his IF card, or if he will keep with a silver card.

Dybala doesn’t have any IF card yet but he is playing well since the start of the season. In Serie A, only Tévez has scored more goals than him.

Naldo is not the only player in form in his team, which is in the second place in Bundesliga. De Bruyne is making lots of assists, which may be enough to get an improvement.

Payet is seen as one of the favourites to get a new card, thanks to the many goals scored and assists he has made this season in French Ligue 1.

Bernat has been another good surprise, earning a place in the all powerful Bayern FC and playing in all Champions League matches.

Nguyen hasn’t been an amazing player. He does not even have an In Form card. However, there are lot of FIFA 15 gamers in USA and this may be a good reason to give him an upgrade.

It is his first season in Europe and Talisca is playing really well. Thanks to that, he was called up to the Brazilian national team for the first time ever. He is the number two in the Portuguese league top goalscorers list.

Every year, one popular BPL player gets a good upgrade. It is like a rule. Two years ago it was Bale, last year it was Hazard and this year Sánchez is the favourite for this spot.

It is an unlikely upgrade but, if EA were coherent, they would have to do it. The only reason why the current best player in the world isn’t as well rated as Messi is because he is not on the cover of the game.

I tried the method where you put an IF player in your team and look at the ingame stats and I had SIF Kevin de Bruyne and IF Felipe Melo and it said De Bruyne was 86 rated while his SIF is 83 at this moment and also Felipe Melo was 83 rated while his IF is 82 now. You will have to sell NIF cards to buy the upgraded version. However, your IF cards will be automatically upgraded.

Because they are already too expensive. It is risky. Even with an upgrade you don’t know if they will be cheaper or more expensive that the currently price.

Yeap, NIF that were not upgraded. I think that, maybe, people will try to buy the upgraded cards in the market and, in the process, they will sell their players that are worth something. Upgraded cards will probably be very expensive in the first days (all the hype and a limited number of cards in the supply side) and there will be a lot of people trying to get coins to buy these upgraded cards.

NIF cards are not automatically updated. Only IFs. It means that you will have to sell your card and buy a new one if you want your players with the improvement.

and compare which of those players get much better overall grades than their current fifa overall value.
This list confirms DeBruyne and Choupo-M. as very likely upgrade candidates.
Other examples: Hilton ranks #33 with an overall grade 7.61 (in that same ranking Thiago Silva is #41 with a score of 7.54. My prediction: upgrade of his IF from 79 to 81. (similar for Djilobodji btw).
btw: Perisic and Griezmann very unlikely to get upgrades. They had a couple of good matches but their seasonal stats don’t justify that.
Prezado Rodrigo! Certas cartas Ifs já sofrem um intenso aumento apenas pela expeculação de o jogador vir a receber o Upgrade. Acontece que muitos estão procurando essas cartas e quem vende está elevendo os preços. Um exemplo interessante é o Naldo CB, SIF, custava cerca de duas semanas atrás 62k. Hoje, segunda, dia 02/02, está saindo por mais de 250k. Muitos estão comprando essas cartas e ficando com elas na espera do Upgrade (logo, sua oferta no mercado está baixa, e o preço em constante elevação). Quando o Upgrade acontecer, muitos irão listar essas cartas à preços exorbitantes. Será o melhor momento pra vender? Ou o mercado, ao ter um número alto de cartas à venda, irá puxar o preço pra baixo? Pela experiência do ano anterior, quando sairam os UPGRADES, qual é o melhor momento pra vender o IFs. O exemplo que dei é meu. Para facilitar o raciocínio, descartada a possibilidade dele não sair no UPgrade, qual o melhor momento pra vender, agora na curva de elevação do preço ou quando sair o UP e a carta ter seu stats alterado?

A pergunta é boa mas infelizmente este é verdadeiramente o primeiro ano em que isto acontece (se acontecer, pois não foi oficialmente confirmado).
O ano passado os IF também tiveram upgrade mas ninguém sabia disso antecipadamente. Só se soube quando a EA os aumentou.
O meu conselho é para que vá vendo o preço todos os dias. Assim que vir que está a baixar venda. Mesmo que seja antes dos upgrades. É que para muitos jogadores a bolha de especulação é tão absurdamente grande que mesmo que eles venham a receber um upgrade, o seu preço irá ser inferior ao que é agora.

You can keep with your card because your IF will be automatically updated IF NIF gets an upgrade.

Kept it stored on my transfer list for 199k with Buy it Now of 200k and someoone actually paid it.

These ones are the more obvious of the most popular players. I will not make predictions for bronze and less popular silver players, so this will be the only predictions I will make.

And one more question and I’ll leave you alone lol what is the deal with different release dates for upgrades. Is the first batch usually golds and the 2nd bronze and silver or will it all be random? Based on your past experience of course in previous fifa’s
I think none of these players will get an upgrade, but the one with more chances is Cáceres.
According to the previous years, the first batch is much bigger but both have bronze and top gold players.
Nathaniel Clyne (silver) should get an upgrade I feel.

Upgrades ? No. Transfers are first. The deadline to several leagues only finish Monday, so expec a huge batch of transfers in the coming days.
