Building a team in FC 26 Ultimate Team can be challenging. While assembling the strongest squad isn’t always possible due to budget limitations, it’s essential to build a team that suits your playstyle and needs.
When choosing players, pay close attention to their attributes. A common mistake is relying solely on overall ratings. In this guide, we highlight the best players for each position, focusing on the qualities that matter most.
It’s also important to ensure your players fit your preferred formations. For example, a top-tier full-back won’t be useful if your setup only includes three defenders.
Chemistry is just as crucial. While many build squads based on a single league or nation, experienced players often create effective hybrid teams without compromising chemistry.
To accommodate different budgets and preferences, we’ve included two recommended squads with different formations and price ranges. Note that these formations are general and not necessarily the most effective for the Premier League but are commonly used across our squad guides.

- Only Gold Players: We have not considered silver and bronze players, as most of them cannot match the quality of gold players.
- Only Regular Players: This guide excludes In-Form (IF) and special items, including Icons and Heroes, which are often more expensive and may not offer good value for players with limited budgets.
- Only Normal Players: Upgraded or transferred items are not considered. We have only included players who started the season in the Premier League with their original attributes.
