Introduction to the FUT 14 Barclays Premier League Guide

Building a team is the biggest challenge in FIFA 14 Ultimate Team. It doesn’t need to be the best team, even because the budget may not allow it, but it needs to be the player’s stature for him to obtain success.

When choosing which players to play with, you will have to look carefully at their attributes. Choosing a team based on ratings is one of the most common mistakes on FUT 14. It’s precisely this aspect that this guide focuses on. For each position, and focusing on the truly important attributes, we’ll show who are the best athletes to choose.

It’s also important that the player checks to see if the player he chooses fits the formations he likes to play in. For example, a good full back will be useless if the player only uses formations with three defenders. According to those formations, the player must be cautious to look at the work rates, trying to relate them with the ones we advise in our Formations Guide.

Last but not least, it’s mandatory that you tune all of your team so that the individual and team chemistry be as high possible. For this last step to be easier, the majority of the players start to define the type of team they’re building. Some choose gathering players of the same nationality, while others decide to form a team of players from the same league. The most popular leagues are the Brazilians and the Barclays Premier League. There are also more experienced players that can form hybrid teams without damaging the chemistry a lot.

All of these steps are necessary to have; it could be that the team is not always well built as it could’ve been. This article aims to help those that think or want to form a FIFA 14 Ultimate Team based on players from the Barclays Premier League. Even the ones have one, could take out some valuable conclusion from this guide that could help turn your team even better.

On a similar guide that we wrote for FUT 13, we received 1300 comments. Most of them asked us to help improve their teams and the players they had. It’s important that the readers understand that this guide is simply guidance. It’s a theme too vast and the player’s combinations are almost infinite. Besides, there are various factors that influence the choices, like it’s one’s style of play, the formations used, the available budget, the preferences or even the time spent playing. There’s still one uncertain component: a good player for someone might not be for another. If there was a better team everyone would fight to get it. Part of the fun of FIFA 14 Ultimate Team is this: everyone has their personal club and players.

Another important point and that must stay very clear is that whoever is reading this guide, it’s about some criteria we chose and should be of everyone’s knowledge:

  • Only Gold Players
    • In this guide we didn’t consider silver or bronze player. Most players don’t assume them to be a better option than gold players, so to simplify the guide’s analysis we didn’t include them. In the future we may come to publish guides exclusively talking about these categories.
  • Only Regular Players
    • In this guide we didn’t consider In Forms (IF). They’re extremely expensive and in most cases are not considered good value for money. They should only be used by players with generous budgets, that already have the best team possible and that want small upgrades.
  • Only Normal Players
    • In this guide we didn’t consider players that have been transferred to other clubs or that have been reviewed (UP). Only players that started their season in the Barclays Premier League and with their original attributes were considered.
  • Only Original Attributes
    • In this guide we didn’t consider changes made on a players performance such happens when applying training or chemistry styles cards.
  • Position analysis
    • To make the comprehension of this guide easier we divided the players in nine distinct groups in order of their original position: Goalkeeper (GK), central backs (CB), right backs (RB and RWB), left backs (LB and LWB), central defensive midfielders (CDM) central midfielders (CM and CAM), right midfielders (RM, RW and RF), left midfielders (LM, LW and LF) and forwards (CF and ST).
  • Prices at the date of publication of the guide
    • In the chapter where FIFA 14 Ultimate Team BPL teams are suggested, the prices considered are the ones of the date of the guide’s publication: November 2013. It’s natural that the prices have suffered some oscillations throughout the season, so they should only be considered as guiding prices.

    Barclays Premier League

No league is as spectacular as the main football competition of the United Kingdom. The qualification of the champion of the second biggest league of the world is made through the made points system. Whichever team gathers the most points wins the league. The first four classified gain access to the champions league of the next year, while the last three trade places with the first three qualified of the Football League Championship. Every season starts in August and finishes in May, having 38 game weeks with 10 matches each, being a total of 380 matches per season.

The Barclays Premier League is the most watched football league in the world, broadcasted in 212 countries and in more than 600 million homes. It’s also the second football league with more assists and the second best league classified in the UEFA league coefficients.

Started in 1992 the Premier League has only been conquered by 5 clubs. The dominant club is Manchester United, with a total of 13 titles. London’s teams only won the league three times while Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers only won the title once.

As to last season, the BPL lost some good players such as Andrey Arshavin (Zenit), Florent Malouda (Trabzonspor), Mahamadou Diarra, Pepe Reina (Napoli by loan), Carlos Tevez (Juventus) and Maicon (AS Roma), they’re good examples of this. But, the biggest out transfer was with a chance Spur’s Gareth bale move to Real Madrid for 85 million pounds.

These transfers didn’t necessarily make the league weaker. The English teams spent 620 million pounds on strong reinforcements: Gary Medel and Andreas Cornelius (Cardiff), Marco Van Ginkel, Samiel Eto’o and Willian (Chelsea), Mamadou Sakho (Liverpool), Stevan Jovetic, Jesus Navas, Fernandinho and Alvaro Negredo (Manchester City), Ricky Van Wolfswinkel (Norwich City), Victor Wanyama, Pablo Osvadldo and Dejan Lovren (Southampton), Wilfried Bony (Swansea), Etienne Capoue, Roberto Soldado, Paulinho, Erik Lamela, Vlad Chiriches and Christian Eriksen (Tottenham) and Nicolas Anelka (West Bromwich). But the biggest signing of the season was made between London and Madrid, with the purchase of Mesut Ozil by the Gunners for 42 million pounds.

The choices are a lot for which our guide will certainly be useful as to building a team with players from this league. But, since it’s in the United Kingdom where FUT 14 is played the most the Barclays Premier League is the most seen on this game’s teams. This means it’s also the most expensive league, for which it’s not recommended for players with a limited budget.

FUT 14 Barclays Premier League Goalkeepers (GK)

Goalkeepers are the players that are less used on field. Because of this they are also the disdained when building a team. Most players start their purchases with a forward, later they strengthen the midfield the defence and only later the goal. The truth is a good goalkeeper may be worth a lot of goals. It’s good investment because they’re normally the most economically accessible players.

The goalkeepers with more prestige of the Barclays Premier League are the charismatic Petr Cech, the downgraded Hugo Lloris and the English national team goalkeeper Joe Hart. For having the best rating they are also the most searched by this league’s teams so they’re more expensive.

    MOST HIGH-RATED GOALKEEPERS
Petr Cech 85 Czech Republic Chelsea
Hugo Lloris 84 France Tottenham Hotspur
Joe Hart 83 England Manchester City
De Gea 82 Spain Manchester United
Asmir Begovic 81 Bosnia Herzegovina Stoke City
Michel Vorm 81 Netherlands Swansea City
Tim Howard 81 United States Everton
    Simon Mignolet 80 Belgium Liverpool
Tim Krul 79 Netherlands Newcastle United
    Wojciech Szczesny 79 Poland Arsenal

When choosing a good goalkeeper it’s not only down to his rating. There are two fundamental attributes for choosing a good goalkeeper: reflexes and diving.

The first measures a goalkeeper’s agility when making a save. The best on this aspect is Hugo Lloris, even though the advantage over De Gea and Joe Hart doesn’t mean much.

    GOALKEEPERS WITH BEST REFLEXES
Hugo Lloris 89 France Tottenham Hotspur
De Gea 88 Spain Manchester United
Joe Hart 87 England Manchester City
Asmir Begovic 86 Bosnia Herzegovina Stoke City
    Gomes 86 Brazil Tottenham Hotspur
Petr Cech 85 Czech Republic Chelsea
Michel Vorm 84 Netherlands Swansea City
Tim Krul 84 Netherlands Newcastle United
    Lukasz Fabianski 84 Poland Arsenal
Tim Howard 83 United States Everton

Diving is a fundamental attribute when choosing a goalkeeper. It measures the capacity for a goalkeeper to make a save when jumping.

The four BPL goalkeepers who have this attribute better developed are also those that have the best reputations. For those who are looking for the cheaper solution, Wojciech Szczesny is a valid alternative.

    GOALKEEPER WITH BEST DIVING
Hugo Lloris 86 France Tottenham Hotspur
De Gea 86 Spain Manchester United
Petr Cech 85 Czech Republic Chelsea
Joe Hart 85 England Manchester City
    Wojciech Szczesny 84 Poland Arsenal
    Maarten Stekelenburg 84 Netherlands Fulham
Asmir Begovic 83 Bosnia Herzegovina Stoke City
Michel Vorm 83 Netherlands Swansea City
Tim Howard 83 United States Everton
Anders Lindegaard 83 Denmark Manchester United

The most experienced Ultimate Team players know that another leaning factor on a goalkeeper’s performance without considering the remaining four attributes: height. The more tall a goalkeeper is, better his chances of having a clean sheet.

This is Hugo Lloris’s weak point. Even though he can’t be considered a short goalkeeper, the truth is he’s 12 cm short of the mighty Asmir Begovic, this gold goalkeeper holds the title of tallest Barclays Premier League Goalkeeper. Cech, Hart and De Gea are all above 1,90 m.

    TALLEST GOALKEEPERS
Asmir Begovic 200 Bosnia Herzegovina Stoke City
    Maarten Stekelenburg 197 Netherlands Fulham
Petr Cech 196 Czech Republic Chelsea
Joe Hart 196 England Manchester City
    Wojciech Szczesny 195 Poland Arsenal
    Emiliano Viviano 195 Italy Arsenal
    Mark Schwarzer 195 Australia Chelsea
De Gea 193 Spain Manchester United
Anders Lindegaard 193 Denmark Manchester United
    Simon Mignolet 193 Belgium Liverpool

The choice for the best Barclays Premier League goalkeeper on FIFA 14 Ultimate team, is not easy.

In our opinion, even though he was downgraded, Hugo Lloris is still the best choice. Besides being the best with the two most important attributes he’s also the fastest. For the players that search for taller goalkeepers, Cech and Hart are goalkeeper to consider even though the first is slow and the second has weak handling.

For those who frequently pass the ball to the goalkeeper, De Gea is a choice to be considered. When talking about cheapest goalkeepers our suggestion is Asmir Begovic. Besides the four most rated goalkeepers in the league no one else has better reflexes than the Bosnian. Besides, he’s also the tallest of them all, which takes out any doubt for those who still had any. For those who don’t want to choose him because of the difficulty of having good chemistry links with the centre back, Simon Mignolet is a good alternative.

FUT 14 Barclays Premier League Central Backs (CB)

A goalkeepers task is made easier if in front of him are quality central backs. Their function is to stop the opponent from getting dangerously close to your team’s goal.

Vidic and Kompany are the central backs with the best reputation in the Barclays Premier League. The remaining good players to consider because of experience are John Terry and Rio Ferdinand, and by irreverence, David Luiz and Jan Vertonghen come to mind.

    HIGHEST RATED CENTRAL BACKS
Nemanja Vidic 87 Serbia Manchester United
Vincent Kompany 86 Belgium Manchester City
    John Terry 83 England Chelsea
Rio Ferdinand 83 England Manchester United
    Daniel Agger 82 Denmark Liverpool
    David Luiz 82 Brazil Chelsea
Jan Vertonghen 82 Belgium Tottenham Hotspur
Martín Demichelis 82 Argentina Manchester City
Fabricio Coloccini 81 Argentina Newcastle United
Joleon Lescott 81 England Manchester City

On a central back, two attributes assume particular importance on their performance: defending and heading.

A player with better defending will have an easier chance of dispossessing the opponent and avoid him reaching your box.

It’s the case of the two best rated players: Vidic and Kompany. It’s really hard to get past them. The most experienced players are normally those who have a higher rating on this attribute. Terry, Rio Ferdinand and Demichelis prove this.

    CENTRAL BACKS WITH BETTER DEFENDING
Nemanja Vidic 86 Serbia Manchester United
Vincent Kompany 86 Belgium Manchester City
Martín Demichelis 85 Argentina Manchester City
    John Terry 84 England Chelsea
Rio Ferdinand 84 England Manchester United
    Per Mertesacker 84 Germany Arsenal
    Brede Hangeland 83 Norway Fulham
Joleon Lescott 82 England Manchester City
Jan Vertonghen 81 Belgium Tottenham Hotspur
    Daniel Agger 81 Denmark Liverpool

On a game partially made difficult on stopping an opponent’s header in our box, possessing good heading is even more important on a central back than it was before. Allow him to be superior in your box when defending air balls but it’s also worth it on set pieces, like corners where a central backs jump may just be worth some goals.

In this chapter there’s a player that annihilates all competition: Vidic. He’s the best header in the game. If you choose to not buy one, Lescott and Vermaelen handle it pretty well. Though Kompany is one of the tallest central backs he’s far behind on the Barclays Premier League list of players with good heading. He isn’t an isolated case: the tallest central back in the league, Brade Hagenland has dreadful heading. A player to avoid at all cost, even for his low speed.

    CENTRAL BACKS WITH BETTER HEADING
Nemanja Vidic 90 Serbia Manchester United
Joleon Lescott 85 England Manchester City
    Thomas Vermaelen 85 Belgium Arsenal
    John Terry 83 England Chelsea
    Martin Škrtel 83 Slovakia Liverpool
Younès Kaboul 83 France Tottenham Hotspur
    Gary Cahill 83 England Chelsea
Michael Dawson 83 England Tottenham Hotspur
    Mobido Diakité 83 France Sunderland
Jan Vertonghen 82 Belgium Tottenham Hotspur

Defending and heading may be useless against fast opponents. It’s necessary to fight fire with fire. No likes feeling impotent when seeing you get overrun by extremely fast players. Even though, in a way, centre backs aren’t that fast, every team needs one of these players with a high pace attribute.

The weak relish for heading by Kompany is in a way compensating due to his good speed. But there are faster players in the Barclays Premier League. The first on the list is Vlad Chiriches, defender that has his debut on the league. We don’t consider him a viable option since he lacks the remaining attributes necessary for a good central back. David Luiz, Kaboul and Koscielny are also fast players and possess these attributes, in a way that either one of these three present themselves as a viable for a defence based on the BPL.

    CENTRAL BACKS WITH BETTER PACE
Vlad Chiriches 82 Romania Tottenham Hotspur
Younès Kaboul 78 France Tottenham Hotspur
    David Luiz 77 Brazil Chelsea
    Laurent Koscielny 77 France Arsenal
Chris Smalling 76 England Manchester United
Maynor Figueroa 76 Honduras Hull City
Sébastien Bassong 74 Cameroon Norwich City
Vincent Kompany 73 Belgium Manchester City
    Gary Cahill 73 England Chelsea
    Sylvain Distin 73 France Everton

In our opinion Vidic is a real wall. He intercepts everything that is at his reach. But, if the style of play of the team is to concede extremely fast counter-attacks we don’t advise him. He’s an extremely slow defender that compromises the team in fast attacks. For that Kompany is our number one choice for this position. Fast and with good defending and attacking attributes, the Belgian is for that the without a chance most expensive of all central backs of the Barclays Premier League.

Benefiting from his popularity and his characteristic for a good chemistry, David Luiz comes up as being one of the first choices for teams based on the Barclays Premier League. He’s without a doubt a good player for this position but there are other cheaper solutions. Like, Younès Kaboul that besides having work rates more appropriate to the position is the players that classifies as better in the three main attributes we said. Jan Vertonghen, Laurent Koscielny and Thomas Vermaelen are also good options, even though only the Frenchman has work rates more appropriate to his position.

Best FUT 14 Barclays Premier League Central Backs

FUT 14 Barclays Premier League Right Backs (RB and RWB)

Full backs have the role of troubling the mission of the wingers. Not only. In addition, good full backs also support their team mates on offensive maneuvers.

The right flank of the defence got really weak when Maicon left for Italy. Choosing the best right back for a Barclays Premier League Team is now an extremely hard choice. There are various valid option depending on the style of play. The six first are those the most liked ones.

    HIGHEST RATED RIGHT BACKS
Pablo Zabaleta 82 Argentina Manchester City
    Bacary Sagna 80 France Arsenal
    Branislav Ivanovic 80 Serbia Chelsea
    Glen Johnson 79 England Liverpool
Kyle Walker 79 England Tottenham Hotspur
Micah Richards 79 England Manchester City
Mathieu Debuchy 78 France Newcastle United
Phil Jones 78 England Manchester United
    Azpilicueta 77 Spain Chelsea
    Rafael 77 Brazil Manchester United

There are very important attributes in any right back: defending and pace.

Since they’re defenders they should have good defending capacities. This reduces a team’s risk of conceding.

Ivanovic is the players that best fits this aspect. The only other players that offer any type of competition are the Manchester City duo Micah Richards and Zabaleta.

    RIGHT BACKS WITH BETTER DEFENDING
    Branislav Ivanovic 85 Serbia Chelsea
Pablo Zabaleta 83 Argentina Manchester City
Micah Richards 81 England Manchester City
    Bacary Sagna 80 France Arsenal
Phil Jones 79 England Manchester United
Kyle Walker 78 England Tottenham Hotspur
    Azpilicueta 77 Spain Chelsea
    Glen Johnson 76 England Liverpool
Mathieu Debuchy 76 France Newcastle United
    Rafael 76 Brazil Manchester United

A flanked game tends to be faster than a game based in the middle of the field. The players that fill these spaces are obligated to be fast, both penetrating defensive and attacking moves of the team. Pace is one of the most important requirements for a good full back.

Between all of the right backs of FIFA 14 Ultimate Team, only Ignazio Abate is faster than Kyle Walker. The English international if far superior in this aspect compared to every BPL full backs. Besides Kyle Walker only Glen Johnson may be considered a fast player.

    RIGHT BACKS WITH BETTER PACE
Kyle Walker 92 England Tottenham Hotspur
    Glen Johnson 85 England Liverpool
Micah Richards 81 England Manchester City
    Rafael 81 Brazil Manchester United
Mathieu Debuchy 78 France Newcastle United
    Azpilicueta 78 Spain Chelsea
    Sascha Riether 77 Germany Fulham
    Bacary Sagna 75 France Arsenal
Pablo Zabaleta 74 Argentina Manchester City
    Martin Kelly 74 England Liverpool

Pablo Zabaleta is the highest rated right back but once again, that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s the best choice for this position. In our opinion he’s the right choice for players that don’t use full backs to attack.

On the other hand there’s Kyle Walker. He has fantastic pace, good dribbling, passing and he’s high attacking work rates make him a good player for those that see full backs as second wingers.

For those that search for an intermediate solution, in other word, a player that defends and attacks fairly, we advise Micah Richards. He’s a balanced athlete that still has the bonus of being the right back with the most strength in the game. It’s as you now know a very important attribute. Glen Johnson is also a natural alternative. Though Ivanovic has good defending he’s very slow and Sagna doesn’t reach Micah Richards level.

Best FUT 14 Barclays Premier League Left Backs (LB e LWB)

Left backs have exactly the same role of their teamm ates on the other flank. In other words, they try to make a winger’s job hard and participate on the team’s offensive manoeuvres.

A team’s left flank has even less options than the right but that doesn’t necessarily mean it has less quality. There are four players that stand out in this position: the veterans Ashley Cole and Patrice Evra, last season’s prominent Leighton Baines and the ever fast Gaël Clichy.

    HIGHEST RATED LEFT BACKS
    Ashley Cole 85 England Chelsea
    Leighton Baines 83 England Everton
Patrice Evra 82 France Manchester United
Gaël Clichy 81 France Manchester City
    José Enrique 79 Spain Liverpool
Aleksandar Kolarov 78 Serbia Manchester City
    Kieran Gibbs 78 England Arsenal
    Monreal 77 Spain Arsenal
    Aly Cissokho 75 France Liverpool
    Fábio 75 Brazil Manchester United

Ashley Cole and Patrice Evra’s joint experience in the Barclays Premier League, contribute decisively to make these two the two best defending left backs in the league. Even though being one of the fastest, using Santon should not be an option for teams where it’s necessary defending frequently.

    LEFT BACKS WITH BETTER DEFENDING
    Ashley Cole 82 England Chelsea
Patrice Evra 80 France Manchester United
    José Enrique 80 Spain Liverpool
    Leighton Baines 79 England Everton
Gaël Clichy 79 France Manchester City
Aleksandar Kolarov 79 Serbia Manchester City
    Kieran Gibbs 78 England Arsenal
    Monreal 75 Spain Arsenal
    Aly Cissokho 74 France Liverpool
    Fábio 74 Brazil Manchester United

Gaël Clichy is the fastest left back in the English league and the fourth most fast out of all of FUT 14 gold players. He makes his speed his biggest threat, differing from other three players from this position. All of them are a lot slower.

    LEFT BACKS WITH BETTER PACE
Gaël Clichy 88 France Manchester City
    Kieran Gibbs 84 England Arsenal
    Aly Cissokho 81 France Liverpool
Davide Santon 81 Italy Newcastle United
    Leighton Baines 79 England Everton
    José Enrique 79 Spain Liverpool
Patrice Evra 78 France Manchester United
    Monreal 78 Spain Arsenal
    Fábio 77 Brazil Manchester United
    Ashley Cole 76 England Chelsea

Even thought he isn’t the one who has the best defending skills, the best passing nor the best shooting, Clichy is our first choice for a Barclays Premier League based team. What he lacks in these attributes he highly compensates with his pace.

Leighton Baines and Ashley Cole are valid alternatives to the Frenchman. The first besides being an extremely balanced player is also a good crosser. He’s a good choice for more attacking teams. Cole fits better in a more defending game, as proves the fact that he is the player with the highest Slide Tackle of all the game and the third with the most Standing Tackle.

Of all the remaining players, Kieran Gibbs is our cheapest choice. He doesn’t have the same efficiency as the others we referred but he’s fast enough to cause some offensive damage and possesses reasonable defending to support properly the teams more retreated sector.

Best FUT 14 Barclays Premier League Central Defensive Midfielder (CDM)

Many of the FIFA 14 Ultimate Team formations require some midfielders that have a natural aptitude to defend. Central defensive midfielders distinguish themselves for being especially aimed to help the more retreated line of their teams. According to their attributes and their work rates, they can also be useful for starting attacks. They are players that occupy a very strategic position in the field.

Yaya Touré’s supremacy over all other Barclays Premier League central defensive midfielders is extremely clear. Between the balances between attributes of the remaining, only the Chelsea duo Essien and Ramires are the highest rated.

    HIGHEST RATED CENTRAL DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDERS
Yaya Touré 86 Ivory Coast Manchester City
    Michaël Essien 81 Ghana Chelsea
    Ramires 80 Brazil Chelsea
Javi García 79 Spain Manchester City
Cheick Tioté 79 Ivory Coast Newcastle United
John Obi Mikel 79 Nigeria Chelsea
    Scott Parker 79 England Fulham
    Gareth Barry 79 England Everton
Etienne Capoue 79 France Tottenham Hotspur
Steven N’Zonzi 78 France Stoke City

There are a variety of attributes in a central defensive midfielder that you have to give attention: defending, so that the first defender of team works; strength, so that you win all brawls on a prone area of the field; heading, to win possession in aerial moves like goal kicks; pace, so that you cover the most terrain on the field as possible; stamina, so they can equally participate in offensive a defensive moves (especially useful for players with high/high work rates); passing and possession so that he can properly start attacks. In our opinion the two first are the most important.

Normally using a central defensive midfielder is associated with having a deficit of elements in your defence. So, it makes sense that when you search for a player to occupy this position you’d want players that can defend.

The two best central defensive midfielders play for Manchester City: Yaya Touré and Javi Garcia. Besides, they’re also the players that have better heading so they are two good choices for teams that want to complicate an opponent’s game in the space between the midfield and the defence.

CENTRAL DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDERS WITH BETTER DEFENDING
Yaya Touré 83 Ivory Coast Manchester City
Javi García 82 Spain Manchester City
    Michaël Essien 81 Ghana Chelsea
Cheick Tioté 81 Ivory Coast Newcastle United
John Obi Mikel 80 Nigeria Chelsea
    Scott Parker 80 England Fulham
    Gareth Barry 80 England Everton
    Cañas 80 Spain Swansea City
Etienne Capoue 79 France Tottenham Hotspur
Steven N’Zonzi 78 France Stoke City

The area of the field occupied by the central defensive midfielders is the one where most ball dispute happen. Strong players will have a higher probability of winning the ball.

There’s a lot of muscle between the Barclays Premier League. Once again, City’s duo is the one that stands out. On the other hand there’s Ramires. Even though he’s really appreciated by the players, Chelsea’s Brazilian rarely wins a physical brawl due to being the weakest central defensive midfielder from the main English League.

    STRONGEST CENTRAL DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDERS
Yaya Touré 92 Ivory Coast Manchester City
Javi García 89 Spain Manchester City

    Lee Cattermole 78 England Sunderland
Youssouf Mulumbu 78 DR Congo West Bromwich Albion
Etienne Capoue 77 France Tottenham Hotspur

Out of all the choices that are necessary to make when creating a BPL team, the central defensive midfielder is the easiest. Yaya Touré is not only the best player playing this position in England he’s the best in the world. No one is as complete as him. Fast, almost inviolate either by air or by ground, with good offensive attributes and work rates adjusted to his position. An authentic lung capable of playing the full width of the field.

Only a limited budget may justify another player other than Yaya. Ramires is normally chosen to replace him because he possess a much appreciated cocktail of work rates, pace and stamina which allows him to be everywhere. But his huge popularity makes him a player considerably expensive for some budgets.

There are still very options that offer a cheap price but still good quality wise. For those who want an element that offer defensive solidity to the team. Javi Garcia is a very interesting choice. His very accessible price is due to his mediocre pace. For those that search for someone that can step on further zones of the pitch, Tioté is a player to consider.

A lot of games are decided on the midfield and not close to the goals. The players that play in these zones are the ones that should create the game and define its rhythm.

It’s in midfield that there’s more quality in the Barclays Premier League. Some of the world’s best footballers play there. It’s the case of the Spaniards David Silva and Juan Mata and the newcomer Mesut Ozil.

Central midfielders are responsible for discovering lines that break the opponents defence. Their passing quality has to be really good so they can assist forwards.

Even though David Silva, Gerrard and Arteta share the top of the table due to the space left by the legendary Paul Scholes, the Spaniard from Manchester City is who better does it from either short or long distance. Silva is the one that makes the best short passes in the whole world.

David Silva’s supremacy is also showed through his dribbling. He’s still this leagues player with the most vision and ball control. On the position below follow four players from the rival clubs.

Charles N’Zogbia 84 France Aston Villa

David Silva is the most interesting player in the Barclays Premier League Midfield. He’s the best at various attributes, from which two of the ones we consider most important: passing and dribbling.

Benefiting from an upgrade, Mata climbs to the podium of best BPL midfielders, also occupied by Ozil. Though they are a lot similar our preference is directed towards the Spaniard. He has more adjusted work rates and possesses better attributes except passing and mental. The only justification we found for the Germans doubled price is due to his increasing popularity. His transfer was the most expensive by the English club and his first season is going pretty well.

Cazorla and Nasri are cheaper players that can perform well their roles as central midfielders. The Spaniard is a box to box player while the Frenchman has natural attacking tendencies.

Our cheapest choice falls to Fernandinho. Even though he isn’t very physically powerful, the Brazilian is fast dribble and is a good passer. Coutinho is also a good alternative to the number one in Manchester City’s Midfield.

Barclays Premier League Right Wingers (RM, RW e RF)

The wingers are responsible for giving game width in the attack. They’re normally very explosive players.

The right side of the midfield was in earlier seasons the weak point of Barclays Premier League based teams. This deficit of quality was obscured by Valencia, which on FUT 14 saw some of his most important attributes be downgraded. The addition of Jesus Navas to this league and the passage of Nani from left to right side, came as a solution to this problem.

    HIGHEST RATED RIGHT WINGERS
Jesús Navas 85 Spain Manchester City
Antonio Valencia 83 Ecuador Manchester United
    Nani 83 Portugal Manchester United
    Theo Walcott 81 England Arsenal
Erik Lamela 81 Argentina Tottenham Hotspur
James Milner 81 England Manchester City
Aaron Lennon 80 England Tottenham Hotspur
    Kevin Mirallas 80 Belgium Everton
Hatem Ben Arfa 79 France Newcastle United
Stewart Downing 78 England West Ham United

There are three fundamental attribute on a winger: pace, dribbling and passing.

Pace is probably the biggest weapon of these players. They use it to evade opponents and getting to the other side, many times through sprints on the side lines.

The Barclays Premier League is extremely well served in this chapter. Five gold players have pace over 90, being the highlighted sprinter Theo Walcott, the fastest gold player of FIFA 14 Ultimate Team.

    FASTEST RIGHT WINGERS
    Theo Walcott 96 England Arsenal
Aaron Lennon 92 England Tottenham Hotspur
Nathan Dyer 92 England Swansea City
Jesús Navas 91 Spain Manchester City
    Deulofeu 91 Spain Everton
    Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 89 England Arsenal
    Kevin Mirallas 88 Belgium Everton
Antonio Valencia 87 Ecuador Manchester United
Marko Arnautovic 86 Austria Stoke City
    Nani 84 Portugal Manchester United

Just being fast doesn’t cut it to reach the opponents box, having good dribbling to surpass the opponents’ players that appear on the way.

There are a lot of player gifted in dribbling, being Nani and Lamela the best. The Portuguese adds good dribble to the capacity of executing every technical move of the game.

    RIGHT WINGERS WITH BETTER DRIBLLING
    Nani 88 Portugal Manchester United
Erik Lamela 88 Argentina Tottenham Hotspur
Jesús Navas 86 Spain Manchester City
Hatem Ben Arfa 86 France Newcastle United
    Kevin Mirallas 85 Belgium Everton
Aaron Lennon 84 England Tottenham Hotspur
    Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 84 England Arsenal
    Deulofeu 84 Spain Everton
    Victor Moses 83 Nigeria Liverpool
Antonio Valencia 82 Ecuador Manchester United

When reaching the opponents box the winger has to decide what to do. Normally, they choose to cross to the forwards. That is why it’s important for them to have good passing.

The weakest point of the Barclays Premier League Wingers is exactly this. Only James Milner offers good quality passing. Walcott for example could’ve been an option to consider filling this slot in virtue of his fantastic pace, but he’s affected negatively for missing frequently passes to his more forward team mates.

    RIGHT WINGERS WITH BETTER PASSING
James Milner 84 England Manchester City
Jesús Navas 79 Spain Manchester City
    Nani 79 Portugal Manchester United
Antonio Valencia 79 Ecuador Manchester United
    Kevin Mirallas 79 Belgium Everton
Damien Duff 78 Republic of Ireland Fulham
Erik Lamela 76 Argentina Tottenham Hotspur
Hatem Ben Arfa 76 France Newcastle United
Stewart Downing 76 England West Ham United
    Adam Johnson 76 England Sunderland

Navas and Nani are clearly the most indicated players to occupy this position in a team without budget restraints. Our preference goes toward the Spaniard that even though has worse shooting and doesn’t execute as much technical moves can be considerably faster and help the defence more due to his work rates high/medium.

From the most popular there’s also James Milner. That even though has good passing, he is the slowest of the whole league. We discourage this purchase.

For those that can’t pay so many coins there’s a player that doesn’t diverge far from the best: Kevin Mirallas. The Belgian is faster than Nani, has almost better dribbling than Navas and passes as well as these two players. Besides having a work rate adjusted to the position he occupies he is still has a 4 star week foot and 4 star skill moves.

Barclays Premier League Left Wingers (LM, LW e LF)

The left wingers have exactly the same role as their teammates from the other side.

With Bale leaving for Real Madrid, Hazard as become the highest rated left winger. The newcomer Willian is second on the list making it three Chelsea players in the four first places.

    HIGHEST RATED LEFT WINGERS
    Eden Hazard 85 Belgium Chelsea
    Willian 83 Brazil Chelsea
Ashley Young 82 England Manchester United
    André Schürrle 80 Germany Chelsea
    Lukas Podolski 80 Germany Arsenal
Steven Pienaar 80 South Africa Everton
    Adel Taarabt 78 Morocco Fulham
Nacer Chadli 78 Belgium Tottenham Hotspur
Matt Jarvis 77 England West Ham United
Pablo Hernández 77 Spain Swansea City

Even though they’re fast, the left wingers aren’t nearly as fast as their team mates from the right. Raheem Sterling is the only one that surpasses 90 pace but, even if you like fast players, there are others more capable than the Englishman. His passing quality is really bad.

    LEFT WINGERS WITH BETTER PACE
    Raheem Sterling 91 England Liverpool
    Willian 88 Brazil Chelsea
Ashley Young 88 England Manchester United
    André Schürrle 88 Germany Chelsea
Scott Sinclair 88 England West Bromwich Albion
    Eden Hazard 87 Belgium Chelsea
Matt Jarvis 87 England West Ham United
Oussama Assaidi 86 Morocco Stoke City
    Lukas Podolski 81 Germany Arsenal
Pablo Hernández 80 Spain Swansea City

With the exception of Podolski that isn’t a natural born dribbler there’s a proportional quality between the left winger and his dribbling. It’s natural that Hazard and Willian are the ones most highlighted in this chapter.

    LEFT WINGERS WITH BETTER DRIBBLING
    Eden Hazard 88 Belgium Chelsea
    Willian 88 Brazil Chelsea
Ashley Young 85 England Manchester United
Steven Pienaar 85 South Africa Everton
    André Schürrle 84 Germany Chelsea

Pablo Hernández 83 Spain Swansea City
Scott Sinclair 82 England West Bromwich Albion
Nacer Chadli 81 Belgium Tottenham Hotspur

Hazard is clearly the best fitted passer between the remaining left wingers. Even though we discourage, Chris Brunt is an option for those that don’t necessarily need pace.

    LEFT WINGERS WITH BETTER PASSING
    Eden Hazard 83 Belgium Chelsea
Chris Brunt 80 Northern Ireland West Bromwich Albion
Steven Pienaar 79 South Africa Everton
Matthew Etherington 79 England Stoke City
    Willian 78 Brazil Chelsea
Sylvain Marveaux 77 France Newcastle United
    Adel Taarabt 76 Morocco Fulham
Ashley Young 75 England Manchester United
    André Schürrle 75 Germany Chelsea
Matt Jarvis 75 England West Ham United

Hazard’s price is prohibits him from lots of budgets, proving the worth of the player. He’s without a doubt the best Barclays Premier League left winger. He’s the one the better passer and dribbler and is one of the fastest. He possesses a series of other developed attributes such as balance, agility, acceleration and ball control. We only discourage him for teams that will need him defending, given his work rate high/low.

For those that don’t want to pay as many coins for the Belgian they have the excellent newcomer, Willian. The ex-Shakhtar man is a complete and balanced player. The other Chelsea player, André Schurrle is our third choice.

One of the most use players in the BPL is Podolski. Even though he’s the one that has the best shooting, his passing and dribbling don’t convince us.

On the other hand of what happens on the right flank, the cheapest choice isn’t the more obvious one. Matt Jarvis seems as the most balanced player to use but you should certify that his high/low work rate applies to your team’s formation.

Barclays Premier League Forwards (CF e ST)

The forwards are the players on which fall the most responsibility of scoring goals.

In the Barclays Premier League, the most popular players are Robin Van Persie, top goal scorer of the last two seasons, Sergio Aguero, City’s attacking reference, Wayne Rooney, the mythical Manchester United player and Luis Suarez, one of the fans’ favourites.

    HIGHEST RATED FORWARDS
Robin van Persie 89 Netherlands Manchester United
Sergio Agüero 88 Argentina Manchester City
Wayne Rooney 87 England Manchester United
    Luis Suárez 86 Uruguay Liverpool
    Soldado 84 Spain Tottenham Hotspur
Stevan Jovetic 84 Montenegro Manchester City
    Samuel Eto’o 84 Cameroon Chelsea
    Negredo 83 Spain Manchester City
Edin Džeko 83 Bosnia Herzegovina Manchester City
    Fernando Torres 82 Spain Chelsea
    Dimitar Berbatov 82 Bulgaria Fulham
Javier Hernández 82 Mexico Manchester United
Jermain Defoe 81 England Tottenham Hotspur
    Demba Ba 81 Senegal Chelsea
    Olivier Giroud 80 France Arsenal

To score goals shooting is necessary. If either by foot or head, the most important attribute for a forward are: shooting, heading and pace.

Most goals are scored with the foot so good shooting is a necessary attribute for a forward.

Robin Van Persie is the second best shooter of FIFA 14 Ultimate Team. Only Cristiano Ronaldo is superior. Besides his team mate Wayne Rooney, Aguero and Suarez possess an above average shot. This means the best forwards are the ones that best shooting.

    FORWARDS WITH BETTER SHOOTING
Robin van Persie 89 Netherlands Manchester United
Wayne Rooney 87 England Manchester United
Sergio Agüero 84 Argentina Manchester City
    Luis Suárez 83 Uruguay Liverpool
Jermain Defoe 83 England Tottenham Hotspur
    Soldado 82 Spain Tottenham Hotspur
    Negredo 82 Spain Manchester City
Edin Džeko 82 Bosnia Herzegovina Manchester City
    Fernando Torres 82 Spain Chelsea
Stevan Jovetic 81 Montenegro Manchester City
    Samuel Eto’o 81 Cameroon Chelsea
    Dimitar Berbatov 81 Bulgaria Fulham
    Demba Ba 80 Senegal Chelsea
    Olivier Giroud 80 France Arsenal
Nicolas Anelka 79 France West Bromwich Albion

On FUT 14, knowing how to head gained another importance. Plenty of goals are born like this.

Unlike with shooting there’s no proportionality between players with high ratings and players with good heading. Of the four more popular only Rooney appears in the list of 30 forwards with good heading.

    FORWARDS WITH BETTER HEADING
Andy Carroll 88 England West Ham United
Wilfried Bony 86 Ivory Coast Swansea City
    Olivier Giroud 83 France Arsenal
Pablo Daniel Osvaldo 83 Italy Southampton
    Negredo 82 Spain Manchester City
Emmanuel Adebayor 82 Togo Tottenham Hotspur
    Rickie Lambert 82 England Southampton
    Steven Fletcher 82 Scotland Sunderland
Marouane Chamakh 82 Morocco Crystal Palace
Wayne Rooney 81 England Manchester United
    Soldado 81 Spain Tottenham Hotspur
    Demba Ba 81 Senegal Chelsea
Christian Benteke 81 Belgium Aston Villa
Loïc Rémy 81 France Newcastle United
Jozy Altidore 81 United States Sunderland

Depending on the style of play and formation having good shooting and heading may not be enough for a striker. Especially in games that privilege counter-attack, pace is a very important attribute.

Eto’o is back to the big European Stage in time to accompany Rémy to the list of fastest Barclays Premier League forwards. In a way, the 41 Forwards of this league are fast players, but not as fast as the Frenchman or the Cameroonian.

    FORWARDS WITH BETTER PACE
    Samuel Eto’o 91 Cameroon Chelsea
Loïc Rémy 91 France Newcastle United
    Daniel Sturridge 90 England Liverpool
Sergio Agüero 88 Argentina Manchester City
Javier Hernández 88 Mexico Manchester United
Arouna Koné 86 Ivory Coast Everton
Danny Welbeck 85 England Manchester United
Jermain Defoe 83 England Tottenham Hotspur
    Romelu Lukaku 83 Belgium Everton
    Luis Suárez 81 Uruguay Liverpool
Stevan Jovetic 81 Montenegro Manchester City
Christian Benteke 81 Belgium Aston Villa
    Iago Aspas 81 Spain Liverpool
    Darren Bent 80 England Fulham
Yoan Gouffran 80 France Newcastle United

Choosing the best Barclays Premier League forward is a bit subjective because it depends on everyone’s style of play. In our opinion Sergio Aguero is the most complete. Even though he’s a player primarily focused on attack, he make it really well. Even though he’s not the best at any of the attributes he consider more important no other BPL forward surpasses him in ball control, acceleration and balance.

For those that don’t have the money to pay for him, there is a new player that came this season to spice up the English League: Samuel Eto’o, even though he isn’t a cheap player, it’s enough to say that he has the best average between the three most important attributes we considered.

In spite of his excellent capacity to shoot Van Persie fails for being too slow and not using his head properly. Rooney for example in spite of not being the fastest he seems like a viable option for most teams.

Far from Luis Suaréz or Jovetic’s quality, Javier Hernandéz is our cheapest choice. The Mexican may cause a lot of damage on the opponents defence.

    Barclays Premier League team suggestions

A lot of people think that this is the most important part of the guide. It’s not. The thing that is really important to know is how to choose player based on their role and style of play that fits each player. And that is made in the previous chapters. The team suggestions that follow are simple graphic indicators of what we wrote previously. They should serve merely as orientation because it’s impossible to build a team that fits everyone. They depend on various factors we don’t know such as budget, formation, style of play and player preferences.

To try and explore the needs of the maximum player as possible we suggest three teams with different budgets and formations: 4-1-2-1-2 with unlimited budget, 4-4-2 with 100k budget and 4-3-3 with a 20k budget.

    • The choice for this team’s player was based on analysis made in the previous chapters. In goal, Lloris is still our favourite. In centre back position, Vidic was not chosen because we think most players that choose him will only be for formations that use 5 defenders. Kaboul wins over David Luiz in the first squad because of the Brazilians work rates. The full backs chosen were fast enough and equally balanced. Depending on a players mentality you can put attacking full backs like, Kyle Walker or more defending full backs like, Ashley Cole.
The four players in midfield are untouchable, the same happens with Aguero in the attack. Those that play with a forwards head may prefer Rooney for Eto’o.

    • Budget
    • 136k coins (100k + 36k)
      47k coins (35.2k + 11.8k)

    • Summary
    • The choice for this team’s players was based on analysis made in the previous chapter. In goal, Hart is a cheaper alternative to Cech and Lloris. In the defence everything remains the same, except Koscielny comes in for Kompany. Vermaelen and Vertonghen are stuck in as subs because of their high attacking work rate. Half of the budget was spent on three midfielders: Schurrle and Eriksen, that are two pleasant surprises in FUT 14, and Cazorla that according to a players preference may be preferable than Nasri. Even though not being an extraordinary player, Valencia is the best right winger for this position. On the attack for those that don’t need as much pace, Torres shoots and passes better than Chicharrito.

      19k coins (9.3k + 9.9k)

    • Summary
    • The choice for this team’s players was based on analysis made in the previous chapter. In goal Begovic is a true penny saver. In defence Kolo Touré and Gary Cahill close the path to goal with the precious help of Javi Garcia. The Spaniard is a very useful element in these types of formation for giving defensive security in midfield and setting free team mates to start attacks. Glen Johnson and Kieran Gibbs are the full backs, they are both a case of good value for money, the biggest investment is on the Brazilian duo Fernandinho and Coutinho that with their pace, dribbling, and above average passing give width to the attack. On the last third of the field there are two distinct cases: Mirallas is a great surprise while Jarvis in the left flank is the worst player on the team. The man responsible for goals is Chicharito despite Soldados’s characteristics being better fitted for this formation.

    Hybrid Squads

Building a hybrid team is not usually an easy task. The biggest difficulty is finding key player to join between different leagues.

The Barclays Premier League has players with many nationalities, therefore is it’s more prone to allow the build-up of hybrid teams with other leagues. The team with greatest quality is the result of the combination of BBVA and BPL. David Silva, Mata, Navas, Soldado, Negredo and Torres are key players in this connection. There are also Belgium defenders like Kompany that can connect really well with Thibaut Courtois and let’s not forget that there is also the perfect connection between Aguero and Messi.

Building a good Hybrid team based in the BPL and Bundesliga is also possible. There are a lot of great German players that play in England such as, Özil, Schürrle and Podolski other choices include Van Persie, Clichy and Nasri.

On an inferior level, the BPL still connects reasonably with other leagues, especially with the league 1.

Follow our other league guide to easily build your hybrid team.

    1. I have a BPL team 3412

      This is my team:

      GK: Lloris
      LCB: Smalling
      CB: Kaboul
      RCB: Koscielny
      LM: Young
      CML: Barry
      CMR: Javi Garcia
      RM: Mirallas
      CAM: Eriksen
      ST: Negredo
      ST:

Who should i buy as the other ST?
I usually play along the wings so dont need much pace with the striker. Also i only play ground pass mostly so i dont need good heading. But i need really good shooting. I dont have much budget. (20k for striker)

      Suggest other changes too…

      1. Pls. let other players also less than 20k
I also concede counters so i need good CBs. I dont wanna change my Formation (I play FIFA world and formation affects chemistry in it.)

    2. Hello Rodrigo,

i try make hybrid BPL and BBVA:

      https://www.easports.com/uk/fifa/football-club/ultimate-team/show-off?showoffId=cAIwPRQrnLbHC:pc

i dont find any good LM from BBVA, then i think i should use Willian and Miranda, Marcelo and Ramires. And Negredo / Soldado really good strikers. Slower but strong. I try play Long balls and High pressure.

I play now with 4-1-2-1-2 and i am really happy for that.
I need now a little bit time for chemistry 10 (loyalty).

      Future:
CAM – Silva / Mata, i think Silva is better
CDM – Garcia – no another alternative, or?
RB – here i dont know, Juanfran is ok, but i need somebody as alternative? Jesús Gámez or Azpilicueta?
CB – i buy Pique (slow) or Iñigo Martínez with M/M

Any suggestions? I try find a good workrates, not the best players

RM and LM has H/M and i think it´s really good

      THX Jan

      1. And i use your tip – Miranda as CB, he has really nice Workrate and really cheap / good player

      2. Hi, the comments for this topic are close.
        However, here are some tips:
        1) Silva
        2) Garcia is a good CDM
        3) Juanfran and then Azpilicueta
        4) keeping you team why not David Luiz ?

    3. Sudeep Tuladhar

I am relatively new to FIFA FUT… i have the following team… I would love to get the suggestions and feedbacks… :)…. i play 4-4-2 formation…

      GK: Lloris/Mignolet
      CB: Terry/Sakho/Kaboul
      LB: Cole/Enrique
      RB: Sagna/Richards
      CM: Kagawa/Paulinho/Arteta
      LM: Young/Chadli
      RM: Walcott/Lamela/Lennon
      ST: Negredo/Hernandez/Lukaku

      For now I only have around 15K.. :P.. i guess i have to save a bit more…

Tenho uma graninha pra gastar mais não sei se compro o Yaya para fortalecer os volantes ou se compro o Aguero apesar do Soldado ser artilheiro do meu time, não perde uma.

    12. Can you also help me improve my team?
      Mine is
      GK lloris
      Rb Zabeleta
      Cb Verthongen and David Luiz
      Lb Baines
      CDM Ramires
      Lm Young
      Rm Valencia
      Cam Eriksen
      St Defoe. Remy

      1. Hi.
You have a nice team. But you should pay attention to your CB’s. Both have high attacking work rate. That means that you may not have players on your defence when you need.
Our suggestions: Kaboul instead of vertoghen and, when you get more coins, Shurlle on Young place.
        Regards

            1. I already answered that question to someone here. We prefer Nasri. But if you want someone that helps the defence, Cazorla is your man.
We only recommend Vidic for formations with 5 defenders.

    13. Even though this is counted cheap for other people, it is still a big amount of money for me. Do you know how to get money just by playing FIFA 14 what division must I play.
      Thank you very much!

    14. Hi great article very useful
I need to improve my team but I don’t know where it is weakest can you help
      My team is-
      De gea
      Walker
      Kaboul
      Vertonghen
      Clichy
      Ramires
      Walcott
      Schurle
      Cazorla
      Sturridge
      Jovetic
I haven’t got a huge budget I could probably save up to 20k max, but where should I spend it. sorry about spelling

    15. My team is
      Lloris(Hart)
      Luiz and kompany (Vertonghen)
      Clichy (Baines)
      Richards(Walker)
      Cazorla and Nasri(Gerrard and Ramires)
      Navas(Nani)
      William (Schurrle)
      Eto’o and Torres (Sturride)
      You have any suggestions??

    16. Hi Rodrigo again!
Jovetic in your opinion is a good player?
If you say no, what attacker I buy( but not very expensive)?
I have Eto’o, Torres and Sturrigde
And Vidic and Kaboul, who is the best?

      1. If you even read 1 of his other comments.. Yes, he likes Jovetic, but he thinks Eto’o is better. So you shouldn’t buy Jovetic if you have Eto’o.
Also Vidic is a beast, but his workrates aren’t very good. It depends on who your other defender is.

        1. Thank you Joey.
As we have announced, we will close the comments to this guide when we get 350 comments. So please, try to ask something that you can not find on the previous comments.

        1. By any chance do you know what happened last year and when it was best to buy? Btw this website blog is great so useful!

          1. Thank you.
I know what happened not only last year but also in previous ones. On the first TOTY’s the prices have dropped a lot with the TOTY release and they continue to drop. Last year it was slightly different. The prices dropped one to two weeks before the TOTY release and during the TOTY some prices have increased and others don’t. After the TOTY, most of the prices were lower than when the prices started decreasing.

    17. 2 questions:
      -2 players:Cole, Baines or Clichy???????
-Second goalkeeper : Hart, Cech or De Gea????
      Thanks!

    18. Hi you have helped me before just wondered if you can now i have 320k budget and i wanna make a strong all round bpl squad what players shall i have? and what formation? many thanks !

      1. Oh my god! How many times I will have to say that the formation should be chosen by your play style and not by the players.
Anyway, our suggestion is to use the squad with unlimited budget that we have suggested with these changes: Rooney in, Aguero out; Willian in, Hazard out. If your budget is not enough, try Mata instead of David SIlva.
        Regards

    19. Dear Rodrigo thanks a lot.

As adviced Luiz out Kaboul in but i still conceding many goals.
Willian out Hazard in.I changed formation now i play 4-3-3.
Eto’o is out i need CM.Who is your favouirite?Ramires,Fellaini budget is not problem i have enough coins i just want to have best.
      Thanks a lot

      1. Hi. If you already have Touré, then you will need to buy David Silva.
You need to analyse how are the goals that you conceding. For example: if almost all goals are on crosses, you may think on Vidic.
        Regards

    20. Hi Rodrigo.
      I have:
      Cech-GK
      Kompany-CB
      David Luiz-CB
      Yaya Toure-CDM
      Willian-LM
      Rooney-CAM
      Navas-RM
      Eto’o-ST
      Aguero-ST

      I played 15 games with them fantasticly.After that i started to lose.Why

      1. Hi.
        You have a great team.
There are many possible explanations for that: matchmaking, higher divisions and stronger opponents, mental factors, etc…
The only thing you should pay attention is the work rates of your CB’s. If you are conceding many goals, you may need to change one of the CB’s.
        Regards

    21. courtouis SP Belgian GK with vertonghen and kompany in the back is the way to go…use chemistry cards to fix any style weakness…i won the all best off line seasons with that as the line up and now i’m starting on online, 3-1-0 …..
Thanks for the ggreat info…would it be best to have all man city team…with Baines at leaft back in a very attacking 41212 style, with tones of crossing or put clichy.and lescott or demichels with kompany?

    22. Hi Rodrigo, i need some support from you about my BPL Team.
I have problem with formation which use to play. I like defensive style and passing with middlefield players. I think 4-3-3(3) with 2 CMDS should be the best for me but i dont know. What do you think ?
I have problem with choosing the best players for all positions
      I am using now:
      GK: LLoris /De Gea
      LCB Kaboul / Vertonghen
RCB Koscielny / IF Caulker (Cardif)
      LB Evra / Ashley Cole
      RB Richards / Sagna
      LCDM Fellaini / Tiote (
      RCDM Sandro / Lucas Leiva
(I have problem with CDMs, i don’t know which one is the best, i noticed that Fellaini has a problem with defending but he has good stats, but i don’t have money for Yaya Toure)
CAM – Rooney / Santi Cazorla or Ericsen
      LW – Schurrle /Willian (Chelsea)
      RW – Nani / Walcott
      ST – Soldado / Benteke

I have also players on my club to choose: Jovetic, Lennon, Hernandez, Negredo, Baines, Wilshere, Young, Demba Ba, Dembele, Lescott, Paulinho, Podolski, Kolo Toure, Cahill, Szczęsny, Cleverley, De Bruyne, Capoue, OBI Mikel, Debuchy, Jones, Monreal, Flamini, Gary Medel.

Can you tell me which chemistry styles should be used for positions ? I made that choice:

      GK – Gloves
      LB – Backbone
      CB – Sentinel
      RB – Backbone
      CDM – Powerhouse
      LW – Engine
      CAM/CM – Artist
      RM – Engine
      ST – Hawk

Please help me and advice me which formation, players, and chemistry styles should i use for my team. Ty

      1. Hi.
433 (3) it is a defensive formation but seems OK to your play style.
Your players are OK. You have good CDM’s but if you are not happy with them and want some one good on defence, try Javi Garcia. I also think you could buy a better ST. Eto’o is “only” 25k right now. Try him.
Chemistry styles depends of the players, our play style, formation, etc… It is something very personal to say if it is wrong or right. I may think that I should improve the best attributes and you should think that you should improve the worst attributes to make players more balanced. I agree with you chemistry styles. The only one that I am not sure is the CAM/CM. But as I already said, it depends of the players. Not always I use the same chemistry styles to the players playing on the same position.
        Regards

        1. Ok i will try to collect for Eto’o but don’t you think there will be problem with his heading ? He is only one ST on formation 4-3-3(3) and when wingers are making crosses, Striker should have good Heading statistics ?

          1. I know that. I play with him and he scores a lot of goals with his head. Don’t forget that heading is not the only thing important when you want to score a goal with the head. Jumping and positioning are extremely important too. And he has good stats here (85 for both). Try him and if you don’t like him, sell him again.

    23. Hey I was wondering how I can improve my team,
      GK:Lloris
      CB:David Luiz and Kompany
      RB:Richards
      LB:Clichy
      CDM:Toure
      LM:Hazard
      RM:Navas
      CAM:Juan Mata
      ST:Jovetic and Eto’o

      1. Hi.
You almost have the dream team of the BPL.
I will assume that you don’t have coins for Aguero and Silva. In that case, the only position you can improve is the ST. We think that Rooney is a great player but not every one agrees.
Also pay attention to the work rate of your CB’s. You may have to change one of them if you concede many goals.

    24. Hey!
You’ve helped me before and my team is doing great now!
But as every good player, I always want to keep improving.
      Current team: 4-1-4-1
      Courtois
      Walker – Vertonghen – Kompany – Glichy
      Fellainni
      Navas – Dembele – Naingollan – Schurlle
      Eto’o

At first, I really didn’t like Eto’o as I thought he was to weak (compared to Benteke who scores almost every corner and cross), but after 10 games and changing my style of playing (more combinations, less crosses) he started doing better and I like him now! So thanks for the suggestion!

Next player I want to change because his chem is only 7: Naingolan, but I’m not sure who to take in his place!
Is David Silva (100k+) worth the money or do you suggest Mata (45k), Özil or Cazorla and saving the extra money for Yaya Touré in the future?
After that I think I’ll save for Touré or I’ll buy Willian, I’m not sure yet!

Current budget: 50K but I earn around 15k every online season (playing in Division 1). And when my team needs to rest, I play offline seasons with another decent team, so money comes pretty fast!

      1. Thank you! We need to play with a player several times to know how good he is. You did it. Great.
You have a good team. Your CM’s are the weakest players. We think that you should try Mata and then Touré. It is true that David Silva is a great player but the difference of price to Mata is too high. You should buy Mata now, save for Touré and later you can go for David Silva.
We love Willian but Schurlle is a great good value for money. It is not a priority.
        Regards

      Hi Rodrigo,
      I have a 4-5-1
      Gk: Mignolet/Courtois
      RB:Sagna/Johnson
      CB:Cahill/Vermaelen
      CB:Vertongen
      CM: Lampard
      RW: Lamela/Dyer
      CAM: Oscar/Coutinho
      CAM: Wilshere/Paulinho
      LW:Podolski/Sterling
      ST:Benteke/Lukaku
I have 90k who should I get to improve my team?

      1. Hi.
It depends of your play style and preferences.
First of all you need a LB. Probably Cole or Clichy.
        Our other suggestions:
Navas, Schurlle, Eto’o, Cazorla and Kompany. You probably have coins enough for all of them. It will be a huge improvement.

        Regards

    26. Hi Rodrigo,
I was wondering of how I can improve my team, recently I have been loosing in division 3.I mostly use 3-5-2 formation.
      Position: first choice /second
      Gk:cech/de gea
      Cb:vidic/terry
      Cb:Ferdinand/Richards
      Cb: Ashley cole/zabelata
      CDM: Ramires
      CDM: Gerard
      Rm: Nani/Lennon
      Lm: schruule
      Cam: nasri/erickson
      St 1: benzema/cavani
      St2: sturridge/Hernandez

Any suggestions what I should change or buy?
      Thanks.

      1. Hi.
In my opinion your CB’s are too slow. You need faster players as Kompany, David Luiz, Kaboul…
The midfield and the attack is OK. But you can try other players as Jovetic or Eto’o (as soon you save more coins).

    27. Sorry the team above is not correct

      Diego Alves
      Alex
      Thiago Silva
      David Silva
      Schurrle
      Ramires
      Matuidi
      Lucas
      Cavani
      Falcao
      Suarez

      Subs:
      Jefferson
      Vidic
      M Gomez
      A Cole
      Cahill
      Maicon

      3412

    28. Hi Rodrigo,

I had a great team (to follow) but I spent all my money on 100k packs, and also how would you say to get me back up on my feet, and how could I improve on my team but not the budget?

      Diego Alves
      Maicon
      Thiago Silva
      David Luiz
      Ashley Cole
      Schurrle
      Ramires
      Matuidi
      Lucas
      Cavani
      Falcao

      442

      1. Hi.
We said hundreds of times that buying packs is not a good strategy to get richer. See HERE how to make coins.
About that team, it seems OK but you probably don’t get full individual chemistry for all your players.
        Regards

    29. Hi rodrigo I was wondering if this was a good team
      Gk begovic
      Rb Johnson
      Cbs kaboul terry
      Lb Gibbs
      Cms carrick arteta
      Cam eriksen
      Rw lamela
      Lw podolski
      St negredo.

    30. frozenflame13

This is another hybrid I have thought of making

      4-3-3 (CAM)

      Gk – courtois
      Rb – alves
      cb – ramos
      cb – kompany
      lb – ashley cole
      cm – iniesta/ alonso/ xavi
      cam – silva
      cm – yaya toure
      rw – di maria
      st – aguero
      lw – hazard

What do you think about this squad? I have also posted one on the bundesliga guide, so compared to that one as well?

        1. frozenflame13

I myself like this one more, its faster and a more solid team with 9 or 10 individual chemistry and also a bit cheaper compared to that one

    31. Et excusé moi de vous déranger mais dans les milieux latéraux j’aimerai bien acheté schurres en MG mais est t-il bon avant de payer 10000 crédits ??? Par contre en MD je sais pas quoi prendre ???

      1. Benzema is the best suited striker for my budget, besides if I have Arsene Wenger as manager it improves his individual chemistry. Jovetic though may well be a good replacement.

    32. hi. i plan to make a bpl team with the followin players-

      GK-Hart
      RB-Zabeleta
      CB-Kompany
      CB-Vidic
      LB-Cole
      CDM-Garcia
      RM-Navas
      LM-Schurle
      CAM-Nasri
      RS-Rooney
      LS-Benzema

Can you suggest some alternative for Javi Garcia(Under 5K) and Benzema(Around 20k)
      Thamks in advance

    33. Hi, i’ve a bpl squad and came with the squad in division 3 but now i’m losing everything and i”m now in division 5 so i need to improve my squad.

      Nasri
      Cazorla
      Navas
      Soldado
      William

Can you help my i’ve 60k

      1. Hi.
Keep focus. Many times the problem is our mind.
We think that you already have a good team but you should improve two positions: CB’s and ST. You can buy Kompany and Jovetic, for example.

    34. Hey again Rodrigo,
Thank you for the advice,I’ve been playing with this team for a while and haven’t the changes you said because I think it’s my formation that’s the problem and but with the suggestions you already gave me can you give me the best formation that improved team which you have suggested many thanks Jono 🙂

        1. Hey Rodrigo,
I just wanted to check if this is what i should do before i go spend all my coins
So,451(2)? I’m not sure that will work for me :/ but anyway
          Gk-Lloris
          Lb-Clichy
          Cb-Kompany
          Cb-Kaboul
          Rb-richards
          Rm-Nani
          Cm-Cazorla
          Cm-Fellaini
          Cm-Nasri
          Lm-Schurle
          St-Eto’o
Thanks again Rodrigo for all your help,if you could play about with this team for me and suggest anything i need to improve my team, many thanks Jono

    36. Hi, I have a bpl squad with a 4-1-2-1-2 formation. I have money but not unlimited funds. Was wondering if you could suggest any improvements. My long term targets are toure, aguero, Silva and hazard but this is my current squad.

      Gk- Cech, Mignolet
      Rb- Zabaleta, Johnson
      Cb- Kompany, Vidic, Luiz, Agger
      Lb- Baines, Cole
      Cdm- Gerrard, Lucas
      Rm- Navas, Valencia
      Lm- Willian, Young
      Cam- Mata, Cazorla
      St- Suarez, Eto’o, Jovetic, Negredo

      1. Hi.
Nice team. You already good players. Now it is time to save to the bigger ones. Our suggestion is to try Touré first. Hazard should be the last one. He is a good player, better than Willian, but he is too expensive right now.
        Regards

    37. Hi, I am a starter player and am trying to save coins. Can you comment on my two teams below and say which is better?

      Team 1 (4-4-2)

      Vorm
      Zabaleta, Skrtel, Ferdinand, Evra
      Milner, Lampard, Carrick, Pienaar
      Soldado, Chicharito

      Team 2 (4-5-1)

      Vorm
      Zabaleta, Skrtel, Ferdinand, Evra
      Lampard, Carrick, Giggs
      Ramirez
      Cavani, Chicharito

Please suggest some ideas for low price improvements? Long term transfer targets are Rooney and Suarez.

      1. Oh, and in addition, my full squad consists:

        GK: Vorm, Schwarzer
        RB: Zabaleta, Jones
        CB: Ferdinand, Skrtel, Dawson, Brown
        LB: Evra
        RM: Milner, Lallana
        CM: Carrick, Lampard, Giggs, Fletcher
        CAM: Ramirez
        LM: Pienaar, Etherington
ST: Cavani, Soldado, Hernandez, Carroll, Chamakh

My targets are for a team something like this:
        Vorm
        Zabaleta, Skrtel, Ferdinand, Evra
Carrick, Lampard, Rooney (position change applied)
        Ramirez, Suarez
        Cavani

(Ramirez solely for avoiding any red links)
        Sorry for my long-winded-ness!

        1. Hi. Welcome.
I can not understand what the hell Cavani is doing in that team. You probably are thinking “but I have chemistry 100”. If it was your though, maybe you should read our Chemistry Guide HERE. You will realize that individual chemistry is more important and the Cavani chemistry is awful in that team. That’s why we prefer the first team.
Before thinking in great players, as Rooney and Suarez (this one is too expensive at the moment due to his IRL performances), you should try to save 5 to 10k coins and make some good changes. We suggest this ones: Kaboul, Valencia, Erikssen and Remy.
          Good luck !

          1. Ah, yes, I have tried to make my own squad with Cavani on Futhead and see what you mean about Cavani’s individual chemistry. However, with Suarez (whom I have been saving up for, and nearly have enough coins for) and Ramirez behind him, he gets two normal (orange) links and has 9 individual chemistry. Is that still not too good? It is simply that I like Cavani’s h/h work rate, and his all rounded pace, dribbling, shooting and heading stats, especially at what I consider a good price (I already have him and got him for around 7500 coins) for an 87 rated striker. And if I have enough coins to get both Suarez and Rooney (and convert the latter to a CAM), would the below squad be any good? Cavani, who stays in this team, will have 9 individual chemistry. Thanks again!

            Vorm
            Zabaleta, Skrtel, Ferdinand, Evra
            Lampard, Rooney, Carrick
            Ramirez, Suarez
            Cavani

            1. Eric, whoops, no, Cavani will only have 6 ind. chemistry. How’s this?

              (Same goalkeeper and defense)

              Milner, Ramirez. Carrick, Suarez, Pienaar
              Cavani

Only Ramirez and Suarez have links with Cavani so he will have 9 ind. chemistry. Thx!

    38. Kevan Oktavio

Hi, thanks a lot Rodrigo for your advise
Gonna save up for Rooney and what a luck I got Balotelli from free packs, should I sell him? Cause i’m not looking for hybrid squad. Thx 🙂

    39. Hello
This is a really awesome guide!
      I have a 433 (4) BPL team that cost around 160k.
I am in division 3, But the problem is i am loosing every game now! I have no idea what’ s wrong! Can you give me some advice. I can sell players and buy the ones you suggesting ,no problem!

      Team:
      Gk: Cech
      Lb: clichy
      Cb:koscielny
      Cb: vidic
      Rb: Richards
      Cm: ramires
      Cam: nasri
      Cm: sandro
      Rw: Jesus navas
      St: eto’o
      Lw: Willian

      1. Hi.
The only thing that we disagree is having Vidic in a formation without CDM’s and with only 2 CB’s. He is too slow. It is too risky. If you think that you are conceding many goals because of him, buy David Luiz.
        Good luck !
        Regards

        1. Hi rodrigo
          Thanks a lot!
I sold vidic and i bought david luiz!
This helps me a lot, thank you!

Btw does it give any problems if i swap Sandro with Gerrard?

    40. hi, great website by the way.

I play 343 formation and attack from the wings. my team is:

      GK-lloris
      CB-if terry
      CB-Kompany
      CB-Vidic
      LM-willian
      CM-mata
      CM-ozil
      RM-nani
      LW-hazard
      ST-Suarez
      RW-navas

    41. Kevan Oktavio

      Hi Rodrigo,
      I’m playing with 4-1-2-1-2, here’s my squad

      Gk – Cech/lloris
      CB – Kompany/luiz
      CB – Kaboul/Sakho
      RB – Richards/ivanovic
      LB – Clichy/baines
      CDM – Yaya Toure/Sandro
      CAM – Cazorla/Eriksen
      RM – Navas/Nani
      LM – Willian/Schurrle
      ST – Suarez/Jovetic
      ST – Soldado/Negredo/Ba

What do you think? I also have Young but dunno which is better compared with Willian and Schurrle. Also which is better Sakho or Kaboul or Luiz
      Thx, and srry for english

      1. Your English is perfect.
You have a nice team. Probably the weakest position is CAM. Cazorla is a good player but you have better players on the other positions. In the future, you can try Mata or Rooney as CAM. Also, Eto’o would be perfect to play with Suarez. But right now, the team is great.
Willian is better than Schurlle and much much better than Young. Luiz is the bets of these three players but pay attention to his work rates.
        Regards

    42. Hey rodrigo i have a question i have a 200 k budget what are the players i should get if my playing styles are through the wings and is 4-2-3-1 good? Thank you

      1. Yes, 4231 should not be OK. You are probably talking about 4231 (2).
Try something like: Lloris, Micah, Kompany, Kaboul, Clichy, Fellaini, Ramires, Mata, Navas, Willian and Eto’o.

    43. Hi. first time playing FUT here. I cant seem to get past div 4. I am currently building a BPL 4-1-2-1-2 squad. got 60K coins saved up so far.
      GK – Cech / Begovic
CB – Kaboul / David Luiz / Sakho / Vidic(sold and need replacement)
      RB – Johnson / Richards
      LB – Baines / Enrique
      CDM – Fellaini / Paulinho
      LM – Assaidi / Chadli (???)
      RM – Mirallas / Lamela
CAM – De bruyne / Fernandinho
      ST – Jovetic / Kone / Torres / ???

Should i save up to get the expensive players or do you have any recommendations? thank you and happy new year..

          1. Yea. Good thing that i made the right choice then because i almost bought kompany but noticed that his price was increasing the past 2 days and I couldnt wait as it is the first time i have had this many coins. 🙂

      1. Hi.
If you are new to FUT, check THIS.
About your team, here are our recommendations: Koscielny, Schurlle, Nani, Erikssen and Remy. As soon you get more coins, you may start thinking on better players as Eto’o and Cazorla.
        Regards

        1. Thank you I will check that guide out. So as you recommended:

          GK – Cech / Begovic
CB – Kaboul / David Luiz / Sakho / Koscielny
          RB – Johnson / Richards
          LB – Baines / Enrique
          CDM – Fellaini / Paulinho
          LM – Schurrle / Assaidi
          RM – Nani / Mirallas
CAM – Cazorla / Eriksen /De bruyne / Fernandinho (Who should i sell?)
          ST – Jovetic / Kone / Torres / Remy / Eto’o (Who should i sell?)

            1. Thanks a lot for your time and replies. I cant wait to test out my upgrades!!

    44. Hi Rodrigo,

I was wondering which league you believe is the best league overall in fifa 14 ultimate team, and if you could then build me a 250k 4-1-2-1-2 team from that league (PS4). Thank you very much 🙂

      1. BBVA is the league with best overall.
You can try something like: Casillas, Dani Alves, Sergio Ramos, Miranda IF, Marcelo, Song, Iniesta, Di Maria, Giovani dos Santos IF1, Benzema and Diego Costa.

        1. Hi, I looked at that team on futhead and it says that it costs 338k on playstation? Sorry to bother you again but what changes should I make to make the team 250k on playstation? Thanks 🙂

          1. FUTHead is wrong. As most of the times happens. Don’t trust on their prices.
However, it is true that 250k will not be enough. You can place Fàbregas on the Iniesta place.
            Regards

    45. Hello,

      My team is a 4-3-3 (2):

      Lloris
      Richards Kompany Kaboul Clichy
      Cazorla Fellani Fernandinho
      Shurrle Jovetic Navas

Any improvements to this team? I have around 30k. Should I keep Fernandinho or replace him with nasri, ramires….? THANKS!!

      1. Very balanced team. With that budget, I think Nasri should be the right decision. Fernandinho is your weakest player. But, if you are getting troubles with Jovetic, use that coins to buy Eto’o.
        Regards

        1. Hey!! I listened to your advice and bought both eto and nasri. Thanks!! So my team now is 4-3-3 (2)=

          Lloris
          Clichy
          Kaboul
          Koompany
          Richards
          Nasri
          Fellani
          Cazorla
          Navas
          Eto
          Schurlle.

Where can I improve ?? Assume a budget of under 100k

    46. Hey Rodrigo. Here’s my team. Using 4-3-3

      GK – Lloris/De Gea
      RB – Zabaleta /Walker /Richards
      CB – Kompany /Vidc /Luis /Cahill /Ferdinand
      LB – Cole /Clichy /Baines
      CDM – Fellaini /Yaya Toure
      CM – Silva /Nasri /Oscar /Kagawa
      LW – Valencia /Navas
      RW – Young /Hazard
      ST – Rooney /Soldado /Sturridge

Should I try to invest more on striker or should I sell Rooney for other striker? This is from hard earn coins from matches.

      1. Hi.
You have enough players to build two teams, which is great.
You have almost the best players of BPL. It’s easy to see how good is your team but it is not easy to say which one would be your next step. In our opinion, ST is the weakest position. Rooney is great but Soldado and Sturridge are not good players enough to play as he does when he needs to rest. Selling Rooney doesn’t seems to us a good option since is price is too low to 2 good strikers. I think you should save for Eto’o. In the meanwhile, buy Jovetic.
        Regards

        1. Okay. Thanks for the info.
If I save more and do trading, Aguero would be a better choice I assume

    47. Hey rodrigo I upgraded my team since last time. I’m using a 4-1-2-1-2
      Gk- DeGea
      Cb-kaboul/koscielny
      Cb-Cahill /vertoghen
      Lb-Ashely cole/clichy/ Gibbs
      Rb-Richards /Johnson
      CDM – Fellani /sandro
      LM – shurrler/podolski
      CAM- santi cazorla /arteta
      RM – navas / mirrallas
      St- eto’o / jovetic
      St- benteke/ lukaku / sturridge / soldado/ Javier Hernandez
I would like to know if I still need to improve my squad and also I have a 100k budget

      1. Hi.
As you may imagine, you already have, at least, 11 good players. Probably you don’t need so many strikers.
You have a good team but if you are thinking to upgrade something else more, you can try a new CAM (Rooney, for example), Willian as LM or Kompany to help the back four. For us, someone better than Cazorla should be your priority.
        Regards

    48. Hi rodrigo
I was wondering if this was a good team. I play 4-3-3
      Gk. Begovic
      Rb. Johnson
      Cb. Shawcross
      Cb. Terry
      Lb. Gibbs
      Cm. carrick
      Cm arteta
      Cam. Cavani
      Rw lamela
      Lw podolski
      St negredo.
Do you know any other players that would be good additions to my team?
      I have 5k

      1. Hi.
I think you may have problems with this team: both your CBs are very slow; Cavani probably have low individual chemistry.
We suggest to use only BPL players to ensure a good chemistry. Try Kaboul and Erikssen.
        Regards

            1. I now have eriksen and kaboul. I also have 10k to improve my team. Who should I buy or save up for?

            2. I have Fellini and clichy is there any other players I should get to improve my team I have 13k

            3. My team looks like this now:
              Gk begovic
              Rb Johnson
              Cbs kaboul , terry
              Lb clichy
              Cms fellaini, arteta
              Cam eriksen
              Rw lamela

              Lw podolski

Subs szcesney, shawcross carrick sterling deulefo gibbs

    49. Would do think of my team it’s 4-5-1 formation
      Gk-Lloris
      Cb-Kompany
      Cb-Kaboul
      Lb-Gibbs
      Rb-Richards
      Cm-Fellaini
      Lm-Young
      Rm-Mirallas
      Cam-De bruyne
      Cam-Dembele
      St-Eto’o
If you could suggest any improvements I would be so grateful but i can’t afford anyone over 100k for changes for example mata and toure thanks Rodrigo! 🙂

      1. Hi.
Your team is a mix of good cheap players with good more expensive players.
We will give you some suggestion without spending all your coins: Clichy (4k), Shurrle (10k), Nani (12k), Cazorla (11k) and Nasri (15k). With ‘only’ 50k coins you will get more quality on your team. More important: your team will be more balanced.
        Regards

    50. Oliver Jenkins

And also I am willing to spend up to 2k per player and my formation is 4-1-2-3.

      1. Oliver Jenkins

Sorry, my mistake. There isn’t a 4-1-2-3 formation (sadly) therefore do you think you could also recommend a formation for this team? Thank you again.

    51. Oliver Jenkins

      Hi Rodrigo,
I have read through many of your guides and find them very useful so thank you very much for your efforts. I am trying to create a cheap BPL team and have spent a while researching and have found a team I think is good but would appreciate your (more knowledgeable) insight.
      GK: Begovic
      RB: Johnson
      CB: Diakite
      CB: Sahko/Toure
      LB: Gibbs/Enrique
      CDM: Tiote
      LCM: Mirallas
      RCM: Dembele
      LF: Kone/Bony
      ST: Soldado
      RF: Benteke/Lukaku
Thank you help much appreciated 🙂

      1. Thank you for your words.
Yesterday I played against a team just like this one. It is a really good cheap team. Most of the players are in our third suggestion team. We prefer Remy as ST, but Benteke is a good player too.
Go ahead with this team !
        Good luck

    52. Hello Rodrigo,
I have a BPL team, it’s a 4-2-3-1(2) with GK- Begovic RB- Richards CB- Kaboul CB- David Luiz LB- Cole CDM- Ramires CDM- Fellaini RM-Mirallas LM- Young CAM- Eriksen ST- Benteke. If possible, could you give me some advice on how I could improve this team?

      1. Your team is great, Daniel. With that budget you can not do much more. It is very balanced, with good cheap players, good work rates…
You will need much more coins to big improvements. Congratulations.

        1. Oh okay, that’s good. But if I were to make an improvement somewhere, even if I had to save up for a while, who would you recommend the most given my team?

    53. Hi Rodrigo,

I was wondering what would be the best Bpl team to make for 200k? (PS4)
I couldn’t decide which players would be the best so I thought I would ask an expert. Please could it be in either 4-2-3-1(2) or 4-1-2-1-2 depending which you think is stronger, thank you. Can I just say these guises are so helpful, even better than last years. Good choice about the comments, scrolling through them all just to see my reply was quite annoying 😉

      1. Thank you.
And next year we will try to do it even better.
We think 41212 is better for a BPL based formation.
Our suggestion: Lloris, Micah, Kompany, Kaboul (or David Luiz for who can manage their work rates), Clichy, Fellaini, Navas, Willian, Cazorla, Jovetic and Eto’o.

        1. Thank you 🙂 which would you recommend, a 300k Bpl, 300k bundesliga or 300k Liga BBVA? Ps4 4-1-2-1-2? Thanks 🙂

    54. Hi could I have some advice on how to improve my team. I have about 350k available and really wish to add both Rooney and Suarez in that budget.
      4-3-3 rotational
      Gk Hart De Gea
      Rb Zabaleta Johnson
      Cb Lescott/terry Vidic/Ferdinand
      Lb Cole Evra
      Rcm Arteta Carrick
      Cm Wilshere Gerrard
      Lcm Cabaye Lampard
      Rw Milner Walcott
      St/cf Negredo Soldado
I would be willing to play other formations. Though I definitely must have Gerard remain in the squad. And vidic has never weakened my squad as I don’t conceive many with him on the field. Please reply soon

      1. Hi.
I think Kompany would be a good addition. He is fast enough to compensate the Vidic slowness. It means that with the buy of Rooney and Suarez, you will get more 170k to spend. We think that Suarez is too expensive right now, due to his fantastic IRL performance, but it’s up to you. I don’t know who your LW are but you could try Navas as RW, Touré as CM and Mata as CM.
        Regards

    55. Hey I hav a Bpl team with 4-4-2 formation I am wondering whether I need any changes or whether an other league would be better like la liga or Bundesliga.
      GK: Hart/De Gea
      RB: Zabaleta/Richards
      CB: Terry/Vidic
      CB: Ferdinand/Agger
      LB: Cole/Evra
      RM: Lamela/Milner/Valencia
      CM: Gerrard/Lampard
      CM: KAGAWA/Dembele
      LM: Podolski
      ST: Remy/Lukaku
      ST: Ba/Negredo

      1. Hi.
It depends of your play style, budget, etc…
If you don’t have more coins to invest, we think the team is well as it is right now.
The only thing you should pay attention are the CBs. They are too slow. In a 442 it can be too risky. In our opinion, you should try to buy one of these players: Kaboul, Koscielny or David Luiz.
        Regards

        1. After some alterations. I have changed my team and formation.

Firstly who do you think would be a fair player to come in at CDM I was thinking Ramires was a fair buy. Like to spend 10-20k

Secondly which striker would you recommend I would not want to be spending more than 30k.

Also I would like to know a centre back who could partner david luiz.

I am also not sure who could be a Left Midfield to get. Gonna save up for Willian but is their a player you reckoned to get before him

          GK: Hart/De Gea
          RB: Richards/Johnson
          CB: Luiz/Koscielny
          CB: Sakho/Agger
          LB: Cole/Evra
          CDM: Gerrard
          CDM: Wilshere/Cabaye
          RM: Valencia/Mirallis
          LM: Sterling/Jarvis
          CAM: Kagawa/Dembele
          ST: Lukaku/Hernandez/Ba

          Thanks Steve O

          1. Hi.
Ramires will be OK, yes. If you feel he is not working because he is out of position many times and because he is to weak physically, try Fellaini.
Eto’o is your ST ! If you want someone cheaper, try Jovetic. But don’t expect to be as good as the Chelsea striker.
You need a partner with high defensive work rate or, ate least low or medium attacking work rate. We suggest Kaboul.
Schrulle is much cheaper than Willian but much better than the ones you have right now.
            Regards

            1. After some more improvements I have altered my team. Do you believe when I build team I should change formation to 4-1-2-1-2?
              I am playing on getting
              Cazorla
              Vidic
              Lloris
              Rameries
              Benteke/Jovetic
              Willian

              GK: De Gea/Migonlet
              RB: Zabeleta/Johnson
              CB: Luiz/Vertonghen
              CB:Koscielny/Sakho
              LB: Cole/Evra
              RM: Walcott/Valencia
              CM: Gerrard/Wilshere
              CM: Dembele/Kagawa
              LM: Young/Assaidi
              ST: Torres/Ba
              ST: Sturridge/Remy

Any other recommendations for my team would be nice and do you have any good ideas to get some extra coins without using real money. Thanks.

    56. Hey,
First of all I wanted to say that you’ve got a very nice guide! I really enjoyed reading it and made me a lot wiser.

I’m currently playing 4-1-4-1. I like this playstyle because I feel like I’ve got good defending and still pretty good attacking!
Most games I got around 60% possession, and I use counter-attacks aswell as winger attacks as well as attacks through the center. I really use everything in the game.

      My current team is:
      Courtois
Walker – Vertonghen – Kompany – Glichy (vermaelen, alderweireld)
      ———–Witsel——–
Walcott – Naingolan – Dembele – Schürlle (Mirallas, Mertens)
      ———Benteke—– (Lukaky / Remy)

I started this team as a Belgian team, but evoluated to BPL more. Now it is a mix since a lot of Belgium players play in the BPL.
I really like this team and it works well for me, but I want to do some upgrades. I’m not sure which players to change. I’m afraid that for example, by changing Naingolan with a faster dribbler, I will lose some power or work rates.

Do you have any tips for this squad? My chem is 100, so the mix of Belgium/BPL isn’t a really big problem. Currently I got +- 30 000 coins, but also tips a little more expensive or a little cheaper are welcome!

Thanks in advance and a happy new year!

      1. Hi.
        Sorry for the delayed answer.
You say that chemistry is not a big problem because you already have 100. However, the big problem is not the squad chemistry. The big problem is the individual chemistry. If you change anything on the midfield, Witsel will get a lower individual chemistry and will play worse (see HERE about chemistry). That’s why I can not suggest many great improvements.
On the goal, for example, we think that Thibaut Courtois would be a good addition. The CMs are your weakest position. If you change them you will need to change Witsel too. You probably will keep with a better expensive team, but you will loose the beauty of your team. If you don’t want to go by this way, you may upgrade your RM. Navas (or Nani if you don’t want to spend too many coins) would be perfect.
        Regards

        1. Hi!
No problem for the delayed answer, I’m happy you’re here to help people.
Most of my players do have a chemistry of 10. Except naingolan. That’s why I didn’t know if I should change him first and later witsel or if Walcott was my first concern. Also for the striker I was wondering if you had any suggestions because benteke is a beast with his head, but I’ve got a feeling that there should be better options but I don’t know who. I guess that if I want to change someone, I’ll have to change a few players. That’s why I asked your help, I didn’t know if it was worth it since my budget is pretty limited

          1. Hi.
You said it all “if I want to change someone, I’ll have to change a few players”. That’s the problem. You will need more coins and it will be very difficult to keep a Belgium – BPL hybrid. Our suggestion is to keep as you are right now. With a few changes only.
Forget our last comment about Courtois. We missed him on your comment. If you think that Benteke is not good enough you may try give a chance to Remy, that is on your bench. To us, he is better. If you want someone even better you will need to spend more coins. Stevan Jovetic is the next one. To make the other changes (Nani, etc) you will need to save more coins.
            Regards

            1. Hey again!
              I made some improvements 🙂
              My team now:
              Courtois………..(mignolet)
              Walker – Vertonghen – Kompany – Glichy…….(vermaelen)
              ———Fellaini———…..(Witsel)
Jesus Navas – Dembele – Naingolan – Schurrle
(substitutes: Walcott, De Bruyne, Mirallas, Mertens)
              —–Benteke—– (Lukaku)

I’ve got 50k now, but I’m saving for more!
In the past, I tried Rémy but I don’t really like him. Also my team feels pretty balanced at the moment, so I think I should only change someone for a very good player.

Only I don’t know who to save for. Do you suggest Touré as the first improvement to make or one of the CM’s? The problem is that I’m afraid to change Naingolan or Dembele by a good CAM like David Silva or Juan Mata or Hazard as they both got +- 70 DEF and the more attacking midfielders don’t have this.

Do you think if I change one of them by a more attacking player, would that affect my team balance or should I go for it?
If I should go for it, who do you suggest to buy then? Budget doesn’t matter since every improvement will be expensive from now on 🙂

Thank you very much in advance!

            2. Hi again.
On this new stage, I still think that you have 3 positions to improve: CDM, CAM and ST. In my opinion you should go for Eto’o. He is not so expensive and ten times better than your strikers.
Touré is a monster but you will nee to gather many coins.
              Regards

    57. For a 4-1-2-1-2 if you had to pick two strikers between aguero, RVP and eto, who would your top two choices be?

    58. Hi Rodrigo

Nice guide but would like a bit of advice, I have two teams and I have 150K to spend on improving both teams and you advice/opinion would be much appreciated. Both formations are 4-1-2-1-2

      Team 1
      Jefferson
Walker, David Luiz, Thiago Silva, Marcelo
      Paulinho
      Valencia, Willian
      Oscar
      Welbeck, Sturridge

      Team 2
      LLoris
      Johnson, Kompany, Kaboul, Clichy
      Tiote
      Mirallas, Young
      Kagawa
      Jovetic, Remy

I like a short quick tempo passing game where the RB/LB get forward too. also fast and good crossing LM&RM are a bonus as I often do send a cross in when the middle of the pitch is packed.

      Many Thanks

      1. Ok, let’s start by the first one. We suggest Diego Alves instead of Jefferson. He is a better goalkeeper and he will keep your chemistry high. The positions where you need to improve is the RM and the ST. We suggest Nani (or Navas if you got enough coins) and Eto’o.
On the second team, we think that Fellaini is better than Tiote. You also need an improvement on the wings. Navas and Schurrle (or Willian if you got enough coins) would be perfect. Kagawa is a decent player but you have a good budget and Cazorla would be a good buy.
        Regards

        1. Thank you for the reply, i agree need navas and diego alves would be a good addition due to his reflexes. i have previously played with eto and had to sell as scored one goal in 20 games and i thought he was to weak on the ball so i bought welbeck.. massive drop in class i know (and im a man u fan haha)

regarding the second team who would you recommend at lb as i do like Clichy’s but feel he is often out of position and a poor crosser, plus i was considering to get new CAM for both teams i do love Cazorla but who would you recommend from the BPL who is cheapish.

          Many Thanks

          1. Hi again.
Eto’o didn’t work to you because you are a United fan. That’s the only reason. 🙂
Ashley Cole is the best LB of the Barclays PL. He is more balanced than the other ones.
About CAM’s, if you want someone really cheap, you can try Eriksen. Nasri is the expensive choice and Oscar the middle term.
            Regards

    59. Hey Rodrigo, i have an squad that goes like this:
      (4-3-3)
      Lloris
      Zabaleta
      Vidic
      Verthogen
      Evra

      Lucas Leiva
      Wilshere
      Paulinho

      Podolski
      Torres
      Lamela

I have 44k left and i’m wondering if it’s worth buying ashley cole, willian (LW) and navas or nani (and wich one is better)

      Can you help me? Thanks!

      1. Hi!
Ashley Cole is a cheap player. So, it is a good buy.
Navas and Nani are both great players. Navas is better but if you don’t want to spend so much coins, Nani will be good enough for your team. The same happens with Willian and Shurrle. The Brazilian is better but the German player will be a big addition to your team.
        Regards

    60. Hi. Love the guide. I have a bpl team with cech,walker/zabaleta, vidic/david luiz, kompany, cole/baines, navas, mata, ozil, young, Rooney and Suarez. Can you advise me for any changes I might make. I’m using 442 formation I have 20k and I’m unsure about my fullbacks and wingers. Also, is mata and ozil worth the coins? Could I change my strikers for anyone else? Thanks

      1. Hi.
        Thank you for your words.
It depends of your play style but, in our opinion, your weakest position is LM. You should try Schurrle. He is much better than Young. Navas is untouchable. I can’t see any problem on your fullbacks. They are OK.
You should pay attention to your CB’s. For most of people, Vidic is too slow. Playing with David Luiz and Kompany together may be a bit risky due to their work rates. You may need a fourth CB as Kaboul or Koscielny.
It is not easy to say if Mata and Ozil worth the coins because we all see the coins in a different way. In our opinion, Mata is a great player. We don’t say exactly the same about Ozil.
About your ST, they are good player. If you want to change them, maybe you could place Rooney as CM, and buy Eto’o to replace him on the attack.
        Regards

    61. Hi Rodrigo, can you please help me to make some improvement in my squads. I have 2 squads 41212:
      St: Eto St: Suarez
Lm: Schurrle Cam: Cazorla Rm: Walcott
      Cdm: Gerrard
Lb: Clichy Cb: Kaboul Cb: Vertonghen Rb: Walker
      Gk: Lloris
      2 squad:
      St: Sturridge St: Jovetić
Lm: Young Cam: Kagawa Rm: Navas
      Cdm: Fellaini
Lb: Cole Cb: Luiz Cb: Vidić Rb: Richards
      Gk: Cech
      res: Benteke
How would you mix this 2 squads and wich position I need first to improve? I was thinking to sell Suarez and invest in Toure and Kompany…
      Thank you in advance!
      Best regards!

      1. Hi.
On the first squad, your weakest position is CB, CDM, RM and CAM. Use Navas of the second squad as CAM and Fellaini as CDM until you got enough coins to buy Touré. You can also try to buy Kompany and Silva to the other two positions.
        Regards

        1. Tnx once again friend! I used your advice and I I see already some improvements on the pitch 😉
My squads now: Gk: Lorris, Lb: Clichy Cb: Kaboul&Kompany Rb: Walker
Cdm: Javi Garcia Lm: Willian Cam: Cazorla Rm: Navas St: Eto&Jovetić
2 squad: Gk: Cech, Lb: Baines Cb: Luiz&Koscielny Rb: Richards
Cdm: Fellaini Lm: Schurrle Cam: Kagawa Rm: Nani St: Benteke&Sturridge
Is this now good combination? 🙂 My next buy will be Toure, then Silva or Mata 😉

            1. DonMikele212

You are welcome! I made some changes last night and they work perfect, 7 victory in a row 😀 and I am scoring 4-6 goals per match 😀 I sold Navas, Sturridge, and Kagawa and bought Mata, Torres and Mirallas. I play St: Eto with Jovetic and Mata as Cam and it works great. Also St: Torres with Benteke and Cazorla as Cam going perfect. 😉
              Best regards!

    62. Awesome article! I opened a pack on Xmas eve and got ribbery! Ive sold him and taken your advice on the best bpl players. I’m struggling to find a formation and which players to start, now that I have such a deep roster. Can you help? Any suggestions would be great! I currently have these players.strikers: Aguero, Suarez, van persie, etoo. Midfield/wingers: navas, nani, hazard, willian, cazorla, silva, toure, ramires. Backfield: Cole,Clichy, vidic, kompany, kaboul, luiz, Cahill, Richards, walker. Goalkeeper: llores and cech.
What formation do you prefer with these players and who should I start? Thank you in advance for any advice.

      1. i would go 4-1-2-1-2 because it is a very strong formation,
i would start cech with a defense of walker kompany david luiz and cole
midfield of toure, hazard, navas and suarez at cam and van persie and aguero at st

      2. Hi.
You’re the one who took my pack ! 🙂
        Congratulations. You are so lucky!

In our opinion, you should choose the formation according to your play style and not according your players. Anyway… we suggest the 41212.
Something like: Lloris, Kompany, Kaboul, Richards, Clichy, Touré, Navas, Hazard, Silva, Aguero and Etoo.
        Happy Holidays!

    63. hi, im currently using a 4-1-2-1-2
(gk) cech (lb) baines (lcb) luiz (rcb) kompany (rb) walker
(cdm) yaya toure (lm) schurrle (rm) navas (cam) mata
      (st) van persie (st) suarez

but im thinking about getting aguero should i drop suarez down to cam and sell mata or keep mata and sell suarez? or drop van persie down to cam?

      1. Hi.
You have one of the best BPL teams you can have. But you should pay attention to the work rates of your CBs. It is too dangerous to have Luiz and Kompany playing together. Take a look to that.
It depends of your play style, but I believe that most of the players should be fine with Mata as CAM, and Aguero / Suarez as ST. You can also try to drop RVP and buy David Silva to the place of Mata.
        Regards

    64. I’m currently rocking with a 4-1-2-1-2 (1) formation and my two Wing Mids are Willian And Navas. My striker is Negredo. Should i change my formation to 4-1-2-1-2 (2) and sell Navas & willian to get Santi Cazorla and Rooney or should i keep Willian & Navas.

      Thanks!

    65. Hi,Happy Christmas.I have a BPL team and I play 4-1-2-1-2
Great guide, opinions and suggestions on my bpl team would be great and the best compo ST?

      GK –Hart
      RB – Richards (Johnson)
      CB – Vidic – Koscielny (Kaboul,Vermaelen)
      LB – Clichy (Gibbs)
      CDM – Fellaini (Javi Garcia)
      RM – Valencia (Lamela)
      LM – Schurrle (Young,Jarvis)
      CAM – Santi Cazorla (Fernandinho)
ST – Hernandez – Jovetic (Remy – Benteke)

      1. Hi.
        Thank you for your words.
We love your team. With your budget it is very hard to build a better one. At least, a BPL squad.
What should we say about it ? Vidic is very slow and should pay attention to him. We are not saying that you should not play with him. Just saying that he is not for everyone. Depends of your pay style.
The other players are all perfect.
Good luck and happy Xmas to you too.

    66. Hi yeah iv brought your unlimited funds team banging Hazard & Navas untouchable, Aguero is out of this world, Yaya is the daddy but im thinking about upgrading Hazard to 86 IF Navas 86 IF RVP 90 IF Aguero 90 IF Suarez 88 IF etc which should i get or all of above money is no object iv spent 5k on packs before I see a ad for mmoga etc is their anywhere cheaper & as reliable thanks again 🙂

    67. Hi what do you think about my team , I’m using a 4-1-2-1-2

      gk:lloris
      lb:clichy
      rb:richards
      CB:David luiz
      CB:kaboul
      cdm:Ramires
      lm:podolski
      rm:lennon
      cam:kagawa
      st: eto/welbeck
      st:remy/Hernandez

I buy packs once in a while but the other I got van persie in one and I sold him due to his lack of speed and that’s how I built my team up . I’m thinking of getting Nani as RM and but I don’t know who to get as a new LM I have 66k left . I need improvements , help please.

      1. Hi.
        You have a nice team.
Nani as RM will be awesome ! To play as LM we suggest Schrulle (Willian is better but a bit more expensive). It means that you will get 35k to 40k left to buy Nasri and Jovetic, our two other suggestions.
        Regards

    68. Please suggest me a 50k budget team . I prefer 4-3-3(4) formation . I dont need bench squad cause i already have a bbva squad .
      Merry christmas 🙂

    69. Hello and Merry Christmas.

That’s my BPL team, I play with 4-1-2-1-2:

      GK – LLoris (Begovic)
      RB – Richards (Johnson)
CB – Kaboul – Koscielny (Verthongen – Vermaelen)
      LB – Baines (Gibbs)
      CDM – Ramires (Tioté)
      RM – Valencia (Mirallas)
      LM – Schurrle (Jarvis)
      CAM – Santi Cazorla (Fernandinho)
ST – Hernandez – Torres (Remy – Negredo)

What would be, in your opinion, the first improvements I can do? I was planning to buy Eto’o, since I don’t like Torres very much. But any other suggestion would be welcome.

      Thank you very much!

      1. Hi!
With that budget it is very difficult to build a better team. Ok, we don’t like Torres either. If you have enough coins to buy Etoo, go ahead. He is really amazing.
The next step should be Nani, Jovetic and, when you get more coins, Kompany.
        Merry Christmas to you too.
        Regards

    70. Hey im running a 4-1-2-1-2 formation at the moment and I have a 30k budget this is my team, I only started recently, which player/players should I buy next?
      Gk Hart
      RB-Richards/Rafael
      CB-Kaboul/chiriches/reid
      LB-cissokho/taylor(from pack)
      CDM-Fernandinho/Dembele/van ginkel
      RM-Mirallas/lamela/arnautovic
      LM-Pienaar/Jarvis
      CAM-Eriksen/De bruyne/Gaston Ramirez
      ST-Hernandez/defoe/Kone.A

      1. Hi. Nice to meet you.
If you pay attention, your team is very similar to the one we have suggested.
Since they are cheap, we think you should start to improve your defence. Ashley Cole and Koscielny would be great improvements. In the other hand, you can also try to buy Remy as your second striker. Valencia, Cazorla and Nani are other good signings a bit more expensive.
        Regards

        1. Thankyou for your suggestions, I have added Cole and Koscielny to my defence. Is Eto’o much better than Remy? I have enough coins to buy either Eto’o alone or to improve what I think are my weakest positions with Schurrle, Cazorla and Ramires . In which case I would buy Remy as a cheap second striker. Which would you suggest?

          1. Usually I say to improve the higher number of positions possible. But in this case the decision is yours. Only you may know where you are feeling more difficulties.
Maybe you should focus on those 3 positions and then save more coins to buy Etoo. Yes, he is much better than Remy.
            Regards

            1. Thanks again for the help. I think I will focus on the other positions since my strikers at the moment are scoring enough goals and save for Eto’o later like you suggested.

    71. heyy great guide, opinions and suggestions on my bpl team would be great
      gk-lloris
      cb-vertonghen
      cb-lesscott
      cb-kolo toure
      cam-nasri
      cm-eriksen
      cm-oscar
      rm-navas
      lm-shurlle
      st-soldado
      st-sturridge

      thankyou

      1. Hi.
As you know our suggestions depends of your budget, formation, play style, etc…
In our opinion, you should improve your ST’s and probably one of your CB’s. Jovetic and Kaboul would be great.
        Regards

        1. Hey thanks for the help I’ve added jovetic to my strike force and I’m going to buy another cb …any ideas of who to replace as the cb and which one of my stickers should be replaced by jovetic and any other improvements I could make thankyou

    72. Hi, I have a BPL team and I was wondering who I should go after next.
      GK-De Gea/Boruc(Wall)
      RB-Jones(Anchor)
      CB-J.Evans/Chiriches
      CB-Reid(Sentinel)
      LB-Baines
      CDM-Parker(Powerhouse)/Mikel
      RM-Downing(Engine)/Moses
      LM-Taarabt
      CAM-G. Rameriz/Sigurdson
      ST-Welbeck
      ST-Osvaldo/Altidore

I routinely swap in my backups to save fitness. I do not have that big a budget, but any suggestions for upgrades are welcome. Thanks and Happy Holidays

      1. Hi Kevin.
We know that you don’t have a fat budget but with some more coins you could make big improvements.
We suggest you Koscielny and Remy. You will need just 2.5k coins.
        Happy Holidays to you too.
        Regards

    73. Hello,
So is the 20K budget squad been tested? If so, is it good for its value?
Because I am building the same type of build right now.

Also, to build up the squad, which players should I use to upgrade the team once I earn more coins?

      Thanks

    74. Ok I have my team and want to know where I should improve and whether I should keep or sell in form aguero. Practically an unlimited budget as well
      4-1-2-1-2
      GK- Cech
      RB- Zabaleta
      CBS- David Luis and Sakho
      LB- Cole
      CDM- touré
      RM- Willian
      LM- Nani
      CAM- Rooney
STs- In form Lukaku and in form Aguero
      Thanks

      1. Hi.
Your defence is OK (their work rates are great!).
Willian and Nani are great players but, for most of players, Hazard and Navas are better. Rooney is a wonderful player but David Silva is also one of our favourites.
        Very nice team!
If you have almost an unlimited budget, you should keep with them.

        1. One thought I had was playing a 4-3-3 with two CAMS and a CM, then I could play Rooney with silva and touré back, and then Aguero lone striker backed up by the two wingers navas and hazard. Let me know what you think if that

    75. Hey rodrigo can you tell me if my team is any good and which players should i sell or buy. I am running a 4-1-2-1-2
      Gk-Adler
      CB-kaboul/Cahill/chriches/koscielny
      Rb-Johnson/debuchy
      Lb-Gibbs /cole
      CDM-carrick/mikel
      LM-Pineaar/podolski
      RM-mirallas/Ben afra
      ST-sturridge-lukaku-benteke-soldado-negredo
Please tell me what players I can buy that fits my formation. I play really offense but I get caught some times on counter attack

      1. Hi.
You have good player for a low-budget team. However, we suggest you Begovic (why Adler ?) and Fellaini to improve your squad.
Kaboul, Koscielny, Johnson, Cole, Podolski, Mirallas, Sturridge and Lukaku should be on your starting eleven.
        Regards

        1. I picked him because he is a good goalkeeper and he was cheap. I still got 100 chemistry

    76. A great player I have is if lukaku. He is a god with his great strength, pace and heading, and his shooting isn’t bad with the inform card. Pair him up with a better finisher, such as Rooney, RVP, Suarez etc and your strike forge will be insane. At least it is for me. Just a thought I felt you didn’t give him much credit tho

    77. Also (i know this all should’ve been 1 comment) i saw the liga bbva guide is out in English and bundesliga is out in Portuguese. When will bundesliga be out in english?

    78. (Note for last comment: if not a hybrid then i would like fc bayern and borussia dortmund players and im considering 4-3-2-1 formation with lm and rm as lf and rf)

    79. Hey Rodrigo. I am currently playing with a Bundesliga team but made the mistake of looking at only ratings. I also chose all German players to get the achievements and have stuck with that (dont like seeing orange lines anymore ^_^). I’m changing to just one league or even a hybrid with bbva or BPL. I am on a 3-5-2 formation with these players:
      GK: Wiedenfeller
      CB: Boateng
      LCB: Badstuber
      RCB: Howëdes
      RCDM: Rolfes
      LCDM: Bender
LM: Caliguiri (going to get Reus or Ribery)
RM: Castro (will get Müller or Robben)
      CAM: Hunt (saving for Götze)
      LST: Kießling (saving for Mandzukic)
RST: Kroos (position changed to ST)

As you can see i have a team that is too slow and i haven’t saved many coins. Im on a low budget but I’m trying to expand it. Suggestions?

      1. Hi.
First thing: forget Ribery and Robben. You will need to work a lot to get them. They are great players but you can build a cheaper high quality team.
Here are the players you should look with attention. They are not expensive and they will improve your weakest positions: Felipe Santana, Luiz Gustavo, Diego, Ivan Perišic and Farfán. As you can see, you don’t need many coins to start building a good team.

        1. Question: do i replace Howëdes or Boateng with Felipe Santana? I already have him, Farfan, Perišic, and soon Luiz Guztavo and Diego are coming soon (why not Götze instead of Diego?). Also, what is my next step after them? Thank you so much for all your help and also in advance for help to come.

          1. Replace Howëdes with Felipe Santana. Gotze would be great. We did not suggest you because he is much more expensive.
The next step is to play and see where do you feel you need a new improvement.
            Regards

            1. Ok thanks again for all your help. I did choose to switch to 4-3-2-1 formation because i play by the wings a lot and Farfan is perfect, Perišic is well balanced too. My lb and rb are Trasch and Schafer because i earned them in packs but i will get Alaba and piczcek (i know i mispelled it) soon. I think aubameyang will be next.

    80. I have a hybrid and 10k what should I improve (4-1-2-1-2) I made it
      Lukaku – Diego Costa
      Oscar
      Schürrle – Lucas
      Paulinho
      Cole – Cahill – D. Luiz – D. Álvez
      Čech

    81. Hi again Rodrigo!

Thanks to you, i levelled up at last. Now my team is:

      Lloris (Mignolet)
      Johnson (Richards)
      Evra (Baines)
      David Luiz- Sakho (Koscielny-Kaboul)
      Ramires (Sandro)
      Cazorla (Cabaye)
      Mirallas (Ben Arfa)
      Jarvis
      Remy- Chicharito (Ba)

I want to transfer Schürlle and Suarez/Rooney/Etoo (one of them). Now i have 7 Frenchman in the squad. I think t maybe i would transfer Clichy, Sagna, N’Zonzi, Konko, Biabiny. What do you think? Should i switch my ongoing squad?

      1. HI.
        Nice squad.
Schurlle would be a great great improvement since Jarvis is your weakest player.
For us, Etoo is good enough. And cheaper too. Clichy sould stay. He is great.

    82. Hey Rodrigo,
What is your BEST team given the following:
      Any budget,
      No In Forms, and
      Including Legend Cards.
And this is all players not just BPL.
      Thanks,
      G.

    83. LS- Eto’o RS-Jovetic
      CAM- Oscar
      LM-schurrle RM-Nani
      CDM-Ramires
LB-Clichy LCB- Ferdinand RCB- Kaboul RB- Richards
      GK- Lloris

Im using a 4-1-2-1-2 any suggestions would be great!!!

        1. Thanks, I was looking at nasri. Do you think cazorla is a better option? Is there anything specifically I need to improve?

    84. Hi rodrigo!
Excellent article! Helped me a lot!
      I have this team
      De gea
      Richards Verthogen Vermaelen Glichy
      Fernandinho Paulinho
      Ericksen Rooney cazorla
      Eto’o

      Subs:
      Begovic
      G.Johnson
      Agger
      Sakho
      Gibbs
      Gerrard
      Kagawa
      Kevin De Brunye
      Coutinho
      Remy
      Benteke

Should I play Ericksen Kagawa or Coutinho aside of rooney and cazorla
Also, where should my next improvement should be.
      Thanks

      1. Thank you.
First of all, pay attention to the work rates of your CB’s. Both have high/medium. You need to fix it. Koscielny or even Kaboul are good choices to trade with one of them.
We prefer Ericksen to play aside of Rooney.
Your CDM’s are the weakest players of your team. We think that Fellaini could be a nice improvement.
        Regards

    85. What should I improve?
      GK De Gea
RB Walker CB Vertonghen CB David Luiz LB Baines
      CDM Paulinho
      RM Nani LM Schürrle
      CAM Santi Cazorla
      ST Sturridge ST Eto’o
I was thinking Jovetic instead of Sturridge. Should I make a hybrid team instead?

      1. Hi.
First of all, pay attention to the work rates of your CBs. They are both high/medium. Maybe you should try another player instead of Vertonghen. Kaboul, for example, would be OK.
About your striker, Jovetic is a better option for most of the gamers. It is not easy to build a hybrid with the team you have right now.
        Regards

    86. Hi Rodrigo, currently I’m playing with a 4-2-3-1 formation.
My team line up is the following:
      Cech
      Sagna Vermealen Terry Cole
      Arteta Carrick
      Lennon Cazorla Young
      Soldado

I do not have many good substitute players, but that’s not so important.
I would like to know if you have any suggestions to improve my team. My budget is limited but that’s not important. I can save money by playing a lot of matches. Now I got 20K, I’m saving money to buy Navas. Which other recommendation can you give me? What players do you think would suit the best on my team? You can either give me budget option to up to 40K worth players

      1. Hi. Nice to meet you.
You have a nice balanced team.
In our view, the next improvements should be your wingers, a good CDM and a better ST. We suggest you Fellaini, Navas, André Schürrle and Remy. You will need a few more coins but you can get it for sure.
        Regards

        1. Thanks! And why not Paulinho instead of fellaini? what makes fellaini a better option rather tan Paulinho?

          1. For us, Fellaini has better stats to play in that position if you are looking for some one to help the back four. He has better defensive stats, heading and work rate. But the most important thing is the strength. He is very strong and Paulinho don’t.

    87. Hi Rodrigo,
I’m a “long pass abuser” i.e. I’m playing a lot with with high passes (LB + Y) with range from 2 to 50 meters.
Which attributes do influence these passes most? Only “long passing”? “Short passing” as well? The “Vision” attribute?
      Best BPL Long passers are:
      1. Huddlestone
      2. Carrick
      3. Rooney (too expensive)
      4. Silva
      5. Lampard
      6. Arteta
      7. Gerrard
      8. Santi Cazorla
      9. Jack Wilshere
      10. Fernandinho

Currently I’m playing with Eriksen and Santi Cazorla (100k team)
What do you recommend considering my playing style?

      1. Hi.
Essential the long passing and the vision.
Our suggestion is Silva. He is the best of the world on this kind of plays. If he is too expensive to you, keep with Cazorla. He is fine too.
        Regards

    88. Hey rodrigoa
I have a 4222 squad and i have some questions, my squad is
      Joe hart
Richards – kaboul – koscienly – jose enrique
      Fellaini – sandro
      Eriksen – kagawa
      Soldado – negredo

I have a budget of 20k, what changes could i make, also i would like to know what formation you suggest me, i like using the wings to score header – goals, counter-attack, passing etc. I was thinking a team with rm and lm but all players i can affors kind of suck and i also find cam one of the key position to the game, i dont know why..
      Waiting for your answer, thanks

      1. Hey.
4231 (2) seems OK to you.
In that case, maybe you should save more 10k coins and buy Nani for the right side and Schurrle for the left one. I think that Eriksen is a good CAM. The rest of the team it is OK.
        Regards

        1. Hey, thanks for the advice, as soon as i get 10k more ill buy them, but i have one question, is sandro better than essien for that position? Or i should change him?

    89. Hello..can u give me some feedback on my team please

      GK Lloris / Cech
      RB Richards / Walker
      CB Kompany / Vertonghen
CB Luiz / Kaboul / Vidic
      LB Baines / Cole

RM Navas / Walcott / Ben Arfa
CDM Toure / Fellainiv / Ramires
      CAM Rooney / Eriksen
      LM – William / Schrulle

      ST – Remy / Etoo
      ST – Jovetic / Benteke

      I am playing 4-1-2- 1-2
I have 80,000 coins to play with..

What changes shall i make in ur opinion?

Should I save for hazard? but saurez… if so use him at CAM or ST? Or buy mata/silva for CAM. Or buy non bpl players and use them as subs i.e. reus?

      1. Hi.
You have most of the better players from BPL. Very nice.
Your weakest position is the striker. Maybe you should try Suarez. You can also try to improve this team with David Silva but you will need more coins.
It isn’t easy to suggest you players from other leagues since there are several nationalities on this team.
        Regards

    90. Hello..can u give me some feedback on my team please

      GK Mandana
      RB Sagna
      CB Koscielny
      CB Vertonghen
      LB Clichy

      RM Ben Arfa
      CM Cabaye
      LM Kagawa

      CAM Eriksen

      ST Soldado
      ST Remy

      I am playing 4-3-1-2
I have 206,500 coins to play with..

What changes shall i make in ur opinion?

      Kind regards

      1. Uauu! 200k coins to spend ? It is a lot of coins.
I suggest the following players: Lloris, Kompany, Navas, Willian, Fellaini, Mata and Eto’o. And you will keep with 50k to save for Touré in the future.
        Regards

    91. Hi Rodrigo,
First, i need to say your advise is awesome. I have a 4411 BPL team that looks like this:
      GK Hart/de Gea
      CB Smalling/Thiago Silva
      CB Luiz/Sakho
      LB Clichy/Baines/Gibbs
      RB Zabaleta/Walker
      CM Nasri/Wilshere
      CM Coutinho/Ramires
      LM Young/Valencia
      RM Nani/Walcott/Lamela
      CF Aguero/Suarez
      ST Eto’o/Sturridge/Torres/Hernandez
I’m planning to sell Eto’o and Silva to get Touré and save some coins to get Kompany. I really think that at points my midfield isn’t as sharp as it should be, what can you recommend me to upgrade the midfield including LM and RM?

      1. Hi Jorge. Nice to meet you. I think you may be my neighbour but I am not sure about it.
First of all, you have a really nice team. As you know, Thiago Silva is a really good player but in that team he gets out of chemistry. Selling him and replacing by Kompany is a really smart move. Just pay attention when you play with Luiz and Kompany at the same time, since they may be out of position many times because of their work rates. Touré is also a really huge signing. You will love him for sure. He helps the back four and scores many goals too.
Nani is a good player, but if you want someone better for that position, the only one is Navas. On the other side, you suggest you Willian (Hazard is too expensive). I know these two players are a bit expensive but they will be a great improvement to your team.
        Good games!

    92. Hey Man
Awesome website, helped me out TONS! Thanks a lot.

      I have a BPL team playing 4-1-2-1-2
(Still not sure on the formation tho)

      Cech
      Cole, Luiz, Kompany, Zabaleta
      Ramires
      Schürrle, Navas
      Eriksen
      Eto’o, Suarez

I have aprox 50k coins in my budget.
      Do you see any improvements?
Im having a hard time whether or not i should enforce my LM with Willian instead of Schurrle? My RB with Richards? And my LB with Clichy?

And is Eriksen a good call for the CAM?

      Thanks huge in advance bud!

      1. Hey.
Choosing a formation is something really difficult to do. If you are not sure about yours, don’t forget to check THIS article.
Very nice team. It is difficult to improve it without spending more coins. But first of all, we want to warning you that you may have a problem on your defence. Luiz and Kompany are the best CB’s from BPL but they have h/m and m/m work rates, which means that they will be out of position many times. Ramires will not help them all the time because he has a h/h wr. If you see that you are having troubles on your back, and if you do not want to change your CB’s, maybe you should look to Fellaini instead of Ramires. He is much stronger, has better defensive stats and have a m/m wr.
I think you should keep your RB and LM as you have now. Probably they could be improved, but it isn’t a big difference. Eriksen is a good player but your team deserves more. Maybe you should trade him by Mata or Nasri.
If you like our website and if we have helped you, please share it with your friends. We need more publicity.
        Regards

    93. hello, thanks for the article, it is awesome,
i wanna ask some few questions about my bpl team
      you see, im playing with a 4-3-3 (4) formation with degea/ Richards-Kaboul-Vertongen-Evra/ Dembele-Fernadinho(or Paulinho)-De Bruyne/ Podolski(or assaidi)-Sturridge (Or Jovetic)- Mirallas
What should my next incorporation be? i have a limited wallet, and not very much time to play (just on weekends), which part of the field i should reinforce? thanks in advance
      regards

      1. Hi.
To be honest, it seems that you already one of the best BPL teams that you can buy with that budget. You also have a very balanced team. It is not easy to say where are your weakness. Maybe you can try Christian Eriksen instead of De Bruyne.
        Regards

    94. Hi Rodrigo, thanks to your effort to do a wonderful article.
      My squad is:
      Hart-Mignolet
      Evra-Baines
      Vidic-Ferdinand (Kaboul-Koscielny)
      Fellaini-Sandro for using CDM
      Cabaye-Kagawa
      Podolski-Jarvis for using LM
      Ben Arfa-Milner for using RM
      Hernandez-Remy (Soldado-Lukaku-Ba)

I couldn’t get an ideal eleven. Despite Remy and Kagawa, my team is so slow, especially sides. I got frustrated and sorry about selling Arda Turan and Cuadrado, Ibarbo.. What is your suggestion? What should i do for winning? Stucked in Div. 6..

      1. Thank you!
You have several fast players. I think that it may not be the problem. Did you tried another formations ? To suggest improvements you will need more coins. Ramires and David Luiz are two good players that I think would make your team better. It is almost impossible to play with Vidic/Ferdinand. They are too slow. To me, you should start focus on this problem.
Don’t forget that to reach division 1 is more difficult this year.
        Regards

        1. Thank you for your advices Rodrigo! I bought David Silva, Ramires, Mirallas and sold Soldado, Kagawa, Fellaini, Milner, Hart…Now i will try to buy Lloris, Cazorla and later maybe Rooney/Suarez. This team looks so good now at last 🙂 But like the song, “i want to buy you something, but i haven’t got the money” 🙂

    95. What team is better?
      BPL team
      (GK)Begovic
      (RB)Richards
      (CB)Sakho
      (CB)Koscinely
      (LB)Gibbs
      (CDM)Tiote
      (RM)Moses
      (LM)Taarabt
      (CAM)De Bruyne
      (ST)Lukaku
      (ST)Benteke
      Or the La Liga team
      (GK)Courtois
      (RB)Juanfran
      (CB)Mascherano
      (CB)Pique
      (LB)Alba
      (CDM)Busquets
      (CDM)Alonso
      (RM)Pedro
      (LM)Turan
      (CAM)Modric
      (ST)Benzema

    96. Hello, since I’m a new player I’m starting with the cheapest team. But I was wondering: did you change Mirallas, Garcia and Jarvis favorite position? Is it worth to use money for that or is it better to let them play with Chemistry 9?

      1. Yes, I did.
But pay attention that these teams are only examples. You should build your own team.
Chemistry 9 is great. It means that they will have 5 green bars instead of 6 (boosted attributes). When you get more coins you may buy that cards.
        Regards

    97. Hey Rodrigo I have a budget of 450K

      Alves(RB)
      Casillas(GK)

Also is your BBVA guide out….haven’t found it anywhere on the website!!

      1. Hi.
BBVA guide is out but only in Portuguese. It will be published in English soon.
What do you want I say about your teams ? They are perfect! I prefer Mata than Cazorla and Navas than Pedro. It will not damage your chemistry and I believe that your team will be stronger. But it’s up to you.
        Regards

    98. I’m having a horrible run with my teams… i’ve just got religated from Div 3 straight to Div 7…
I’m having a lot of trouble defending and passing… Used to have like a 80+% passing rate in Fut13, but i got like 50+% in FUT14. Most of the goals I get scored on are on a cross+header, or counter or a poor pass from a goal keeper…

I’ve spent quite a few coins in putting together several teams, two BPL teams, two Seria A teams, BBVA and a Bundesliga team.

My BPL team consists of the following players in a 442 formation..

      Team 1
      ST – Rooney / Aguero
      LM – Young
CM – Nasri (CAM) / Fellani (CDM)
      RM – Valencia
      LB – Cole
      CB – Vidic / Komany
      RB – Zabaleta
      GK – Cech

      Team 2
ST – Negredo / Hernandez (Ba / Lukaka as subs)
      LM – Schurrle
CM – Sessegnon / Essien (CDM)
      RM – Lamela
      LB – Baines
CB – David Luiz / Figuera (IF)
      RB – Walker
      GK – Heart

      1. Hi.
        Let’s see what we think:
On team 1 it may be too risky to have Vidic on a 442 formation. The back four has no support in that formation and Vidic is too slow. He is the best defender on a 5xx formation, but in a 442 you may get serious troubles.
On team 2 you need to change the CB’s. Both have high/medium work rates which means that they will be out of position most of the time. It is impossible to play with those two CB on a 442 formation.
We love 442 but sometimes it is not the best formation. Check if your opponents are playing freely on the gap between defence and midfield. If yes, change to 41212 and place Touré as a CDM, if possible. If not, use Fellaini or Essien.
With more coins, you can buy Navas for your team 1. It would be a great addition.
You have good teams but you need to fix the CB’s issues.
        Regards

        1. Thanks for the quick reply… had two other questions… is it to better to convert a player position using a card or to keep him in his original position with a slightly lesser chemistry? The second question was, chemistry cards..
would you rather put a card that will boost a players weaker stats, or stats that are already high? Do they increase by 2 or 3 points or is it a percentage increase?

          1. Hi again.
It is better to convert a player position using a card.
There is not a right answer. I may prefer to boost a high stat and you a low stat. Depends of the way people look to the players.
The boost is not points or percentage. It is a unit that wasn’t revealed.
            Regards

    99. Hello
      I have a pretty good team- 4-1-2-1-2
      gk- Wiedenfeller
      rb- Piscezck
      cb- Hummels
      cb- Dante
      lb- Alaba
      cdm- Schwienstiger
      rm- Nani
      lm- Reus
      cam- Toure
      st- van Persie
      st- Eto’o

I don’t have much more money left only around 30 000 coins. If i wanted to i could go completely BPL by selling Germans for enough to buy Hazard a decent back four and keeper but nothing too special. then i would need a cheap cdm- maybe Stevie G. The problem is that I don’t think that Hazard is better than Reus after looking at their stats, I mean i think there is very little point for the extra 90 000 coins. I’m lost as to where to go next, please tell me what you think i should do by giving me a full team in your answer, it would mean the world. i really love the page.
      thanks
      matthew

      1. Hi. Thank you.
It is hard to answer you since we have not tested all Bundesliga players.
I can see, for example, that both your CB’s are slow. Reus may be as good as Hazard but if you don’t know what to do with your team, our suggestion is to turn it on a exclusive BPL or exclusive Bundesliga squad. Maybe you can buy Willian to LM and other good BPL players with the money you save (Kompany, Lloris, Cole, Richards, Navas…).
        Regards

    100. Hi,

First of all Love your website and a very helpful guide you have here.
      I play 4-3-3(4)
      My squad looks like this
      GK Hart/de Gea
      LB Cole/Clichy
      CB Vertonghen/Vermaelen
      CB Kompany/Koscielny
      RB Walker/Johnson
      CM Toure/Fellaini
      CM Ramires/Paulinho
      CAM Rooney/Mata
      LW Willian/Young
      ST Eto’o/Jovetic
      RW Walcott/Navas

I want to replace Young with Hazard and Jovetic with Aguero in the future.
At the moment I have money to buy Suarez, and I am thinking of making him a CAM instead of Mata, I have the feeling Mata doesn’t very well in this system, or would you advise to replace an attacker with Suarez?

      1. Hi. Thank you.
Let’s see what we have to say about your team:
        1) You have good CB’s but pay attention to their work rates. Both Vertonghen/Vermaelen have high/medium WR. Placing them with Kompany (M/M) may be risky since they will be often out of position.
        2) Your replaces for the future will make your team really really great.
        3) If you don’t like Mata you have David Silva for that position. He is a bit expensive but a great player also.
        4) Your weakest position is the attack. Etoo is great but Jovetic is just a good player. Replacing him by Suarez seems to us a good move.

Anyway, you have a great team. Congratulations !
        Regards

    101. Hi. I have a bpl bundesliga hybrid team
      Gk- Weidsnfeller
      Rb-pizceck
      Cb-hummels
      Cb-dante
      Lb-alaba
      Rm-nani
      Cm-mata
      Cm-rooney
      Lm-reus
      Cf-suarez
      St-eto’o

My chemistry is 100 and the reason I made the hybrid is because reus is so amazing, (long shots, pace, dribbling, finishing, shot power all above 90 and he is right footed on the left so I can cut in but with 4 star weak foot I can also cross.) and then I could also have the bpl players. I have around 80k coins to improve, I can save up to around 150k if nessacary, I am also willing to sell players. What should I do????? Please help
      Regards Matthew

      1. Hi.
You have a good team. For us, the main problem is the gap between defenders and midfileders. None of your CM’s helps the back four and the two CB’s are both slow. Maybe you should try Felipe Santana instead of Dante. Or you can buy Touré to midfield and place Rooney on Suarez place.
        Regards

    102. Rodrigo Flores

Hi Rodrigo, congrats for this useful guide, it helps a lot!!

My team is based in the BPL, therefore I’d like to ask you: I play in a 4-2-3-1 (2) formation with three CAM and two CDM… it isn’t a very common formation in the BPL teams, most of them use to play with wingers. Due to this fact, I don’t find CAM players with the best attributes to the functions I need. Who would you recommend? I’m particularly thinking about Nasri to play in the right flank for example.

      My actual team:

      1-Begovic
      2-Glenn Johnson
      3-David Luiz
      4-Mamadhou Sakho
      5-Gael Clichy
      6-Michael Essien
      7-Etienne Capoue
      8-Dembele
      9-Gaston Rodriguez
10-Kevin Mirallas (doing very well as an improvisation)
      11-Oliver Giroud

Best regards and thank you! 🙂

      1. Hi. Thank you.
I think you are talking about 4231 because 4231 (2) only have one CAM.
It depends of your play style, preferences and budget. Eriksen, for example should be OK. He is fast, has good dribbling and passing skills and he is cheap. Nasri is a bit more expensive but he is perfect for that job.
        Regards

        1. Rodrigo Flores

Tks for your reply. Would you consider Remy as a CAM? He has interesting attributes as speed, dribbling and shooting.

          1. Remy is a really good value for money but I think he is not the best one to play as a CAM. He has those good attributes but his passing is poor. I don’t look him as a CAM.
            Regards

    103. Nice guide, just posting to get your opinion and help my decision. I’m considering trading in my 4-2-3-1(2)Bundesliga team of:
Adler, Piszczek, Subotic, Boateng, Alaba, Gundogan, Schweinsteiger, Robben, Götze, Reus, Lewandowski
For a 4-1-2-1-2(2) Premier League team of:
Cech, Walker, Luiz, Kompany, Clichy, Toure (CDM), Rooney (CM), Gerrard(CM), Van Persie(CAM), Suarez, Agüero.

Obviously there’s going to be a lot of coins lost in the change and I was just wondering what do you reckon. Should I do it?

      1. Hi.
We don’t know because we haven’t test all the players of Bundesliga. We can only answer you after publishing the Bundesliga Guide.
But we can answer you that the BPL team is great. We prefer David Silva instead Gerrard, but it depends of your play style and preferences.
        Regards

    104. Hi all, i think i have nearly got my team to perfection now. Some players are just way too expensive (aguero, hazard etc..)

I have come up with this team so far:
      4-3-3 (4)
      GK: Lloris
      RB: Sagna
      CB: Vermaelen
      CB: Kompany
      LB: Clichy

      CM: Cazorla
      CAM: Ozil
      CM: David Silva

      LW: Willian
      ST: Jovetic
      RW: Jesus Navas

The combination between Ozil and Jovetic works perfect. Both excellent passers and combine very nicely.

after reading this i consider switching sagna with richards.

      1. Hi.
There is no much to say about your team. You already have one of the best BPL teams you can have with your budget. We think there are better ST’s than Jovetic but if you are going fine with him, why changing ?
        Regards

    105. Hi I have only just got fifa 14 and started of by buying a cheap 5k bpl team which is:
      GK-Friedel
      CB- Chirces
      CB- Evans
      CB- Natasic
      CDM- Mikel
      CDM- Capoue
      RM- Lallana
      LM- Sinclair
      ST-Giroud
      ST- Bony
and I was just wandering how I can upgrade my team on a low budget

      1. Hi.
You should look to the 20k budget team that we have suggested.
Kolo Touré, Javi Garcia, Mirallas, Jarvis, Hernandez and Remy would be perfect on that team. Try to save a couple of coins and you will be able to buy them. They are very cheap.

        1. Hi thanks for the tips ! So far I have made a few changes to my team to improve it I have now opted for a 4-1-2-1-2
          GK- Begovic
          RB- Debuchy
          CB- Kaboul
          CB- Evans
          LB- Gibbs
          CDM- Sandro
          RM- Lennon
          LM- Pablo hernandez
          CAM- Ramirez
ST- Bony or Giroud (Not sure who is better ?)
          ST- Hernandez
I am pretty happy with this team for the moment but would like to find a better LM and CAM as I don’t really like playing with Ramirez or Pablo hernandez any suggestions ?

          1. Hi.
Bony or Giroud ? Remy! He’s only 2k and you will love him for sure.
You may try Jarvis as LM. He is really cheap.
If you want a cheap CAM, maybe Kevin De Bruyne work for you.
            Regards

            1. Thanks,
I have now bought remy and de bruyne and must say that remy is a beast he scored a hat-trick in his first game !
Thanks for the great guide !

    106. Hi, I have bpl team and dont know if its any good please can you help me out. It is:
      4-1-2-1-2
      Gk-De gea
      Lb-Baines
      Cb-Vertongen
      Cb-Agger
      Rb-Zabeleta
      Cdm-Fellaini
      Lm-Lennon
      Rm-Sterling
      Cam-Dembele
      St-Torres
      St-Sturridge
I also have Evrq, Ferdinand, Mirralas, Podolski, Benteke, Kagawa and Carrick

      1. Hi. How are you ?
You have a nice team for your budget. You can make some changes but not very important ones.
First, we think you have changed the RM/LM. For us, Mirallas is better than Lennon. We also think Jarvis is almost as fast as Sterling but has better stats.
On the attack, we suggest Remy. Give him a chance.
        Regards

    107. hi,
so my squad is 4-1-2-1-2 and im confused who to get as a ST with etoo i have van persie but i think suraez or rooney might be better since i can afford aguero for now

      1. Hi.
As you know Aguero would be perfect. But he is too expensive for most of the players. The right choice depends of your preferences and play style. In our opinion, Rooney is the better one. But you may prefer Suárez, for example.
        Regards

    108. Hey, thanks for the great article! I am currently using Fellaini as a CDM in my 41212 BPL squad. Because he is not a CDM in FUT14, he is not listed in the article. Am i right that he is the best option as a CDM when i can’t afford Toure yet? Or would you suggest a different CDM?

      1. You are absolutely right. The only reason why he is not there is because he is a CM and not a CDM in FUT 14. We did that to make this article more simple. But, yes: Yaya is number one and Fellaini is number 2.
Thank you for your kindly words.
        Regards

    109. Hi great article,
The 100k team is now worth 60k and I have 120k, what bpl team should I now make with 120k, thanks if you can help

      1. Thank you.
It depends of your formation, preferences, playstyle, etc…
But you can try something like:
Lloris, Micah Richards, Vicent Kompany, Younès Kaboul, Gaël Clichy, Ramires, Juan Mata, Jesus Navas, Willian, Samuel Eto’o and Jovetic.

    110. Hi! I want to upgrade my current CAM Cazorla, but i can’t afford Silva yet. Would you recommend Mata or Ozil and why?

      1. Mata.
We explained why in this guide:
“Benefiting from an upgrade, Mata climbs to the podium of best BPL midfielders, also occupied by Ozil. Though they are a lot similar our preference is directed towards the Spaniard. He has more adjusted work rates and possesses better attributes except passing and mental. The only justification we found for the Germans doubled price is due to his increasing popularity. His transfer was the most expensive by the English club and his first season is going pretty well.”

    111. Hi,

First of all thank you for this most useful guide. Always a pleasure reading the content on this site.

I would like to ask you a question regarding 2 of my most favorite BPL players: Dembelé (as CDM) and De Bruyne (as CAM). I am currently using them in a 4-2-3-1 (2) formation.

      – Would you consider Dembelé as a suitable CDM? Why (not)?
      – Would you consider De Bruyne as a suitable CAM? Why (not)?

      Thanks for your feedback!
      Kind regards

      1. Hi.
        First of all, thank you.
Dembelé could play as CDM, sure. He has good defensive stats and heading, he is strong and have enough stamina for his work rates. Besides that, he has good passing skills and good ball control, something also important on a CDM.
The something happens with placing De Bruyne as CAM. He has good passing and dribbling stats.
        Regards

    112. Hi! first of all congratulations for this awesome guide.
I am building 4-3-3 (2) squad but i have a doubt in the midfield. I cant afford Yaya, I have Fellaini as CDM and Ramires as CM. do you recommend me as the other CM Mata, Nasri or Cazorla? Thanks!

    113. Hi, Is Fellaini and Fer better at CDM as opposed to CM?

Also, I’m currently using a 4-3-3 (2) formation and trying to improve my midfield.

I have: -CM: Carrick, Fellaini, Fer, Van Ginkel, Lampard
-CDM: Parker, Essien, Mikel, Javi Garcia
and am willing to buy cheaper players

What combination would you use (2CM; 1 CDM)?

      Thanks

      1. Hi.
In that formation I would use 2 CM’s and 1 CDM. Only one of those players needs to help the back four. The other two should be free to attack.
Yes, Fellaini could be placed as CDM.
My suggestion is Fellaini, Javi (CDM) and Fernandinho. If you don’t mind to spend a few coins, you can try Fernandinho, Fellaini (CDM) and Ramires.
        Regards

    114. Hi Rodgrigo

I am experimenting 442(2) I have lloris, walker, kompany, kaboul, clichey, hazrad, navas yaya toure, rooney

who should i partner rooney up with and also who should i get as my other cdm? I have 1 mill budget.

      Thanks

      1. Hi.
I think that Aguero would be perfect. Rooney has a work rate high/high what makes him get out of position many times. Aguero has high/low which would be great in this case. You will be on the box all the time. And yes, he is the best ST of BPL.
About the other CDM, it is a bit more difficult to say. You can not have two Yaya’s. 🙂 You may try Fellaini to see how it works. If you often attack by the middle you may need to choose a more offensive player.
        Regards

        1. thanks Rodgrigo. how about ramires in cdm with yaya?

also are you doing any more reviews on other leagues, your reviews are great

          1. That’s the second part of the question. When I said ‘you may need to choose a more offensive player’, Ramires is a good example. He is more attacking player than Fellaini: has better attacking stats and high/high work rate.
We already have published the BBVA Guide but only in portuguese. We will translate it soon. We have plans to publish more leagues guides this month. A special month…

    115. Hi this is a brilliant guide but i have a few questons
Y did u choose hernandez remy and torres over sturridge and y did u choose kaboul and koscielny over vemaelen

      1. First of all, thank you.
Kaboul and Koscielny are much faster than Vermaelen. All of them have good defensive stats but Vermaelen has another thing that we don’t like: his work rate h/m.
In our opinion, the most important in a ST are his shooting and heading. Between these four players, he is the one with worst heading (so important in FIFA 14) and the second worst shooting. He is also the worst in several important attributes, like stamin for example. Playing well IRL doesn’t make his regular card better.
        Regards

        1. Thanks i was wandering if u could tell me what to improve in my team
          Hernandez-soldado
          Santi cazorla
          Young
          Ben arfa
          Essien
          Cole
          Kaboul
          Vermaelen
          Glen johnson
          Joe hart
Its a 41212 and you can say any player lower or equal to 20k

          1. You already have a very balanced team. Your defence is perfect.
In our opinion your LM and RM are the weakest players. We suggest André Schürrle to the Ashley Young place and Nani to the Ben Arfa place. You probbaly don’t have enough coins for both but you can save a bit.
            Regards

      1. Olá.
I already have used him in both positions. We love to play with him, but not everyone has the same opinion.
He plays very well as CAM but can also be used as CM (not so great). His stats and work rate are great to play in other positions besides ST.
        Regards

    116. Hello.
I have a serie a bpl hybrid team and I’d like your opinion on it.
      GK- Buffon
      LCB- chiellini
      CB- Mexes
      RCB- Koscielny
      LCDM- De Rossi
      RCDM- Cabaye
      LM- El Sharaway
      RM- Valencia/mirallas (not sure)
      CAM- Gerrard
      LS- Balotelli
      RS- Sturridge

I know that you haven’t published your serie a guide but could you just please give your opinion on how I can improve, my budget isn’t unlimited but money is not much of a problem
      Thanks

      1. Hi.
We love hybrids. Your team looks great but most of your players are from Serie A and we didn’t start to test them yet.
It’s a kind difficult to suggest something but we will try. First of all, we think there are better players than Sturridge to that position as Remy. We know that it will damage your chemistry but why not using Marchisio on Gerrard place and Tévez on Sturridge place ? Serie A has enough good players to not need the BPL to make a good team. Think about it… And yes, Mirallas is a good player for low-budget teams.
        Regards

    117. Please could you let me have your thoughts on my bpl sqaud 4-1-2-1-2, have a few players for each position

      Gk – Lloris / Cech
      RB – Richard / Walker
      CB – Kompany/ Vidic
      CB – Kaboul / Luiz
      LB – Baines / Cole
      CDM – Ramires / Fellani / Sandro /
RM – Navas / Walcott / Lamela / Ben Arfa
      LM – Schrulle / Jarvis
      CAM – Rooney / Eriksen
      ST – Remy / Benteke/ Defoe
ST – Eto’o / Jovetic / Hernandez / Carrol (end of game heading)

I have 60k coins and not too sure where to invest, what would you do? Should I sell Rooney and buy yaya? Also with those players what do you think is strongest 11? thanks

      1. Hi. Sure, we can.
First of all, you have a really nice team.
Our first concern is about Vidic. We know that he is a monster on the defence and this year he is really cheap. But he is also to slow for most of the gamers. We recommend him as the centre CB on a formation with 5 defenders but in a 4xx formation it may be too risky. We know that you have a CDM helping the back four but you should pay attention to see if you are conceding goals because of him or not. The others defenders are the best possible.
You midfield and attack are also very well. You have the best players excepting the most expensive ones as Aguero, Silva and Touré. In our opinion Touré is one of the best FUT 14 players but he is to expensive right now and it is a waste to sell Rooney. Try to play a few more matches, save coins and then you can try to buy Touré without have to sell Rooney.
        Regards

    118. I am building a Unlimited Budget BPL team. I have a question and want your opinion on the matter. I have Richards and Walker for RB. I have In Form Debuchy. Do you think I should replace Walker for Debuchy IF?

        1. Thanks for the input and the great guides you do. I check regularly to see if you have new material and am always pleased with the guides. I got IF debuchy in a pack and have been trying him out. He is solid defensively but walkes pace is very missed. I am very hesitant to replace Richards because he is so solid. Either way thanks for the great guides. Oh one last question. Why no Fellaini in your guide?

          1. Thank you very much.
We think we already have answered about your RB’s. In our opinion you are fine with Richards and Walker. Keep with them, sell IF Debuchy and use those coins to improve other positions of your squad.
About Fellaini it is a very good question. You are not the first one asking by him. This year we did what he community asked us: we added a chapter to CDM’s. To make it as simple as possible, we only analyse CDM’s for this position. Sandro and Fellaini are CM’s and were analysed on Center midfielders chapter. The problem is that Fellaini has good CDM stats but he is a CM. He is strong (91), has good defensive attributes and a great heading. However, Touré is much much better. He is only as good as others good CDM’s.
            Regards

    119. Dear Rodrigo,
Please kindly,I need your advise and your own opinion on the fallowing if possible..
      I have the fallowing team
      https://www.easports.com/uk/fifa/football-club/ultimate-team/show-off?showoffId=g6cQKjoNnKwpB:ps3

although my son is a very good player in FIFA 14,we a re loosing a lot of matches especially in division 6 (we couldn’t pass it) and most of the matches was against Barclays team.

My son plays very well from the sides and corners..which I think our team is weak in this matter (no good headers)

Naymar and Messi great in dribbling which we are not good in it.

I convinced my son to sell all the team and buy Barclays (after i read ur article) but i need ur opinion to make my decision

Of course if sold my team,I will have the ability to buy In-Forms players.

such as Hazard and Aguero and (RVP or ozil)

best regards and thanking you in advance

      1. Hi. How are you ?
You have a BBVA based team. We are finishing the BBVA guide and we are trying to publish it next week end.
If possible, try to post this on the comments of that article. We will be pleased to help you, OK ? Right now we haven’t finish the players tests and we can not give you a good opinion.
We will be waiting your comment.
        Regards

        1. just in case i couldn’t be patient till next week..as am fed up..I just lost 6-3
and the other team..whenever they shoot they score !!!

Kindly..as a Barclay team, Which 3 informs you advise me to buy?

Am thinking of Aguero,Hazard and Suarez.

          what do you think?

          * one more thing please…I played 4 matches (Today and yesterday) and every time when the match ends (after the finish whistle) I got the message ..you have been disconnected (DNF) and I don’t get any coins..

          what shall I do?

          thanks again

          1. Hi.
As we already said, we will analyse your team when the BBVA guide is out.
            Until there:
            1) are you sure this is the best formations ? 41212 is not the best formation to BBVA since they don’t have good CDM’s.
            2) never buy IF players if there is good regular players on the market.
            3) Piqué is a bit slow. Maybe you should look for a faster low rated player, as Pepe for example.
            4) Xabi Alonso is slower. If you insist with this formation, why not give a try to Essien ? Touré is the best CDM and links well with David Silva on your team. Just an idea.
            5) Pedro is your weakest player.
            6) Aguero is the best one for sure.
            7) If your connection is OK, contact EA to get support of DNF problem. See HERE how to do it.

            Regards

    120. Note:
We will close the comments to this article when we reach the 350 comments. It is more than enough to explain everything you need to know about it. Last year we got more than 1300 comments. It makes no sense to have so many comments since nobody will read all of them and most was asking the same questions. Thank you.

        Hi, First off great website!

my question is based more around formation. I started off winning most of my games and scoring loads of goals, however the last few days i haven’t been able to get a single win in about 15 games mainly because my players are not in the right positions. Can you suggest a good attacking formation that has a good attack/defend balance.
        I have:
        Cech
        Cole
        Richards
        Kompany
        Luiz
        Yaya Toure CDM
        Silva CAM
        Hazard
        Jesus Navas
        Aguero
        Suarez/Rooney/Eto’o

Cheers, and keep up the good work
